    Age 89, died at 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 1976, in Appleton, WI. She was born on January 18, 1887, in the Town of Greenville, WI., daughter of John & Mary (Kaphingst) Pingel. She married Leonard Bentle on November 6, 1907, in Greenville, WI. Prior to moving to Appleton in 1946 Mrs. Bentle and her late husband, Leonard, owned and operated cheese factories in the Town of Greenville and the Town of Ellington. Josephine was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church since April 2, 1920. She was a former member of the Greenville Grange and a member of the Busy Bee Homemaker's Club. Her husband, Leoanrd preceded her in death on August 16, 1965, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Lester Pingel.
    She is survived by three sons; Ralph (Alice) Bentle and Earl (Margaret) Bentle, both of Appleton; Milton (Florence) Bentle, Hortonville; a brother, Wallace Pingel, Neenah; a sister, Elsie Julius, Town of Greenville; four grandchildren; Richard (Sharon) Bentle, Robert (Donna) Bentle, Jean (Gavino) Martinez and Sharon (Peter) Guyette; six great-grandchildren; Michael Bentle, Thomas Bentle, James Bentle, John Bentle, Dennis Guyette and Pamela Guyette.
    The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, August 2, 1976, at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. James A. Nelson officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 1976, and after 8 a.m. on Friday until 10 a.m. and after 10:30 a.m. at the church.

    Age 87, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 1999, in Franciscan Care Center, Appleton, WI. He was born on February 6, 1912, in Greenville, WI, son of Leonard & Josephine (Pingel) Bentle. Earl owned the Bentle Brother's Cheese Factory with his brothers, Ralph and Milton for over 30 years until his retirement in 1977. Before that, he and his brothers worked with their father at the cheese factory. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Appleton.
    He is survived by a son, Richard (Sharon) Bentle, Maumee, Ohio; four grandchildren, Michael, Patrick, Michelle and Kathleen; two brothers Ralph Bentle, Appleton, and Milton (Florence) Bentle, Hortonville. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Margaret.
    Funeral services will be held on February 11, 1999, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 209 S. Allen Street, Appleton,with the Rev. Kevin Ruffcorn officiating. Internment will be held at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and again at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

    Age 79, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2001, surrounded by his family. Boots was born on July 10, 1921, in Appleton, WI., son of the late Leonard & Josephine (Pingel) Bentle. On April 27, 1946, he married the former Florence Hartsworm at John's Congregational Church in Appleton. Boots served in the US Army Signal Corps during WWII from 1942 until his honorable discharge in 1945. He was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Stephensville and served on their church council. He was a member of the Shiocton & Black Creek American Legion Posts, served on the LaFollette School Board and was a volunteer fireman for the Hortonville Rural Fire Department. Boots owned and operated Bentle Brothers Cheese Factory along with his brothers until 1977; he then drove milk truck for Weyauwega Milk Products until his retirement in 1990. Boots enjoyed farming, fishing and spending time outddors working in the yard, but his favorite pass time was enjoying the company of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Boots is survived by his wife, Florence; their three children, Robert (Donna) Bentle of Hortonville; Jean (Gavino) Martinez of Appleton; Sharon Bentle of Shiocton; eight grandchildren, Thomas (Lynn), James and John Bentle; Robert (Heather) and Aaron Martinez; Dennis (Michelle) Guyette, Pamela (Nieves) Fortuno, Beth Guyette and nine great-grandchildren. Boots is furthur survived by a brother, Ralph Bentle, of Appleton; three sisters-in-law, Isabelle Elgeti, Harriet and Angeline Hartsworm and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Bentle; two sisters-in-law, Margaret and Alice Bentle, three brothers-in-law, Earl and George Hartsworm and Howard Elgeti. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, Stephensville, the Rev. Joel Lillo officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 13, 2001 from 4-8 p.m. and again on Wednesday directly at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Military honors will follow.

    Kenneth Julius, Age 93 of Greenville, died on Monday, September 5, 2011, at Living Tree Estates in Greenville, Wisconsin.
    Kenneth was born in the family farmhouse on February 4, 1918, the son of August and Elsie (Pingel) Julius. His entire education was obtained from Wide Awake School, just a half mile from his home. He was confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Appleton. Kenneth was married to June (Christianson) on June 14, 1950, at Grace Lutheran Church in Winchester.
    Kenneth's wife, children, and grandchildren meant the world to him. His love of the family farm was clearly evident by all who knew him. He was well known for his keen gift of remembering the past. His many stories were always of special meaning to his family and friends. Kenneth's life-long membership in South Greenville Grange was a source of camaraderie and fellowship. It also helped provide the foundation from which he and his family developed their appreciation, advocacy, and stewardship of land and nature. Kenneth enjoyed traveling both near and far, whether for a Sunday afternoon ride or traveling to Germany.
    Survivors include Kenneth's wife, June, along with their children John Julius, James Julius, Jean (Dennis) Goffard, and Jerry (Jean) Julius, as well as their grandchildren Jessica and Christian Julius, all from the Town of Greenville. Other survivors include his sister-in-law, Margot Christianson, and brother-in-law Charles Christianson, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
    Preceding him in death were his parents, August and Elsie (Pingel) Julius, his wife's parents, Wallace and Edna Christianson, along with brothers- and sisters-in-law Lorraine and Leo Anderson, Emory Christianson, and Wilma Christianson.
    The family would like to thank the owners and staff at Living Tree Estates in Greenville for the special loving care they have provided over the last several years. They also appreciate those from Trinity Lutheran Church who have faithfully kept Kenneth and June connected to their church.
    A funeral service for Kenneth will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 209 S. Allen Street, Appleton, with Pastor Kurt Kovanen and Pastor Dean Pingel officiating. Family and friends may call at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home Monday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again at church Tuesday morning from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Greenville.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church or South Greenville Grange.
