He was born on April 5, 1937 in Appleton, WI to the late Marlyn and Arleen (Knaack) Timm. He married Connie Jens 58 years ago on September 19 at Freedom Moravian Church. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Appleton where he was baptized and confirmed.
He attended Elm Tree School and St. Paul grade school and graduated from Appleton High School in 1955. He worked at Appleton Mills (Voith Fabrics) for 49 years. His love for sports lasted throughout his life. It started when he played fast pitch softball for Appleton Mills. As soon as his oldest son could participate, he started coaching using his vacation time to coach in the Appleton Recreation league and then at Plamann Park for the GFC organization as well as helping the 13-14 year old FVL team for his grandsons.
Nothing was more important to him than watching any events his grandchildren were involved in from music, bowling and any sports from grade school up to the last event watching the Carroll University Pioneer football team.
Many years were spent at the cottage on Berry Lake enjoying coffee, watching the sun come up and everything else the lake provided.
Robert is survived by his wife, Connie Timm; his children, Alan (Stacy) Timm, Paula (Roy) Buchholz, Rick Timm, and Lisa (Jim) Ringquist; his grandchildren, Brett and Derek Timm; Craig (Lisa), Kevin (Abby), and Connor Buchholz; Megan (Jon) Fietzer, and a great grandson, Brantley Robert Fietzer due in February; two step grandchildren and their sons, Jessie (Rob) Roth, Gabriel and Simon, Andrew (Amber) Ringquist, Adyn and Axel. He is also survived by his companion Springer Spaniel "Jeter".
He was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother in law, Alvin and Leona (Rohm) Jens; and an infant daughter Barbara.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 2 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 302 N. Morrison Street with the Reverend Kenneth L. Frey officiating. Robert's family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
