    Obituary:
Robert J. "Bob" Graney, age 86, of Chilton, died on December 13, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.
He was born October 4, 1926 in the Town of Rantoul, son of the late William & Lena (Bodart) Graney. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII; during his overseas service, he had served on Okinawa.
He married Marian Neuber on May 20, 1953 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Chilton. Bob farmed his entire life in the Town of Rantoul where he raised dairy and chickens for eggs. Along with his wife and children, they would pick pickles out of their large cucumber patch to raise funds for school supplies.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was an active member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church, formerly St. Augustine Parish, where he served on Parish Council, volunteered time as an usher, server, and anywhere else he could lend his talents. Bob was an individual who was very proud of his Irish heritage and made sure to keep his priorities straight: Faith, Family, and Work. He loved to read, enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, and studied WWII history.
He was known well for his stories; he always had a captivating way of sharing a moment in time or a new quick joke he had picked up. Bob was very resourceful and inventive; he would be able to fix any problem presented and used only what was available to him at the time. He was truly a Mr. Fix-It.
Bob was also known to never act his age; he became giddy when he could give someone a tractor ride, or he would be found riding the go-kart too fast around corners, and at the age of 76, he replaced the roof on his barn by himself. He is a man who will be missed dearly by his family, his church, and his friends.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Marian; his children: Ann (Tom) Schwalenberg of Waupaca, Laura Graney of Sheboygan, Joe (Dawn) Graney of Vestal, NY, Geralyn (Tod) Graves of Appleton, Jean (Joe) Kasper of Chilton, Sara (Mark) VanFrachen of Appleton; 11 grandchildren: Dannelle (Todd) Jacobs, Nicole (Dan) Abramovich, Katie (Heath) Budzis, Matt Schwalenberg, Brent Schwalenberg, Michael Graves, Jonathan Graves, Jessica (Paul) Logan, Josh Kasper, Justin (Roberta) Kasper, Jordan Kasper; and 4 great-grandchildren: Emma & Hailey Jacobs, and Ivan & Nickolas Abramovich. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 7 siblings.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 am on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will be in the St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 am until 11:15 am. Prayer services will begin Wednesday evening at the funeral home at 7:00 pm.
