    Obituary:
    Myra M. Wolf Manawa Age 86, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001 at Theda Clark Medical Center, Neenah following a brief illness. She was born June 21, 1914 in Embarrass, daughter of the late Emil and Laura (Zahn) Gehrt. On October 30, 1937 she married Clarence Wolf at Zion Lutheran Church in Embarrass.
    He preceded her in death June 19, 1975. Following their marriage they lived in Clintonville for six years. They purchased a farm in the Town of Union in 1943 and lived there until moving to Symco in 1965. The past two years Myra lived in Manawa. She was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Symco and was active in the Ladies Aid, LWML and the Altar Guild for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Symco Homemakers Club for 35 years and a member of the Manawa Senior Citizens. She is survived by a sister, Myrene Volz, Neenah; three nephews: Larry (Cindy) Volz, Green Bay; Lyndle (Kay) Volz, Stuart, Florida; Emil (Vonnie) Kriewaldt, Mundelein, Illinois; Eileen Kriewaldt, Colorado; a brother-in-law, Leonard (Verna) Wolf, Shawano; a niece, Diana Schauder, Green Bay; other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, a sister, Ethel preceded her in death. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 31, 2001 at St. Mark Lutheran Church, Symco with Rev. Jeffrey Smiles officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Symco. Friends may call at the Cline-Hanson-Dahlke Funeral Home in Manawa from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of the service. A memorial has been established for St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

    Myrene A. Volz, 93, of Menasha, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2009. She was born on June 23, 1916, in the Village of Embarrass to the late Emil and Laura (Zahn) Gehrt. Myrene married Victor H. Volz on September 15, 1945, at Zion Lutheran Church, Embarrass.
    Although growing-up when women were expected to work in the home, Myrene chose a career in cosmetology. She attended the Accredited Beauty College of Appleton and worked in Shawano, Clintonville and Manitowoc. Along with her husband, she owned and operated the Merle Norman Beauty Salon in Manitowoc. Upon retirement in 1980, they moved to Menasha.
    Myrene was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and served on the Altar Guild until recently when her health declined. She also volunteered extensively throughout the community, especially at Goodwill Industries and The Arc Fox Cities.
    Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Lyndle and Kay Volz, Stuart, Florida and Larry and Cynthia Volz, Green Bay; four grandchildren: Kevin Volz and fiancee Barbara Pfent, Denver; Tracy Volz, Denver; Lana Volz, New York City; and Nathan Volz, Chicago; one great-granddaughter: Gillian Volz, Denver; and her friend and neighbor, Doris Lang. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, five brothers-in-law, and four sisters-in-law.
    The funeral service for Myrene will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009, at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2220 E. College Ave. Appleton. The Rev. Martin E. Koeller will be officiating. Burial will take place at Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville. The family will receive friends on Monday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church are appreciated.

    Anton, William C. "Bill" Age 77, Appleton, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at ThedaCare Medical Center. He was born on November 15, 1938 to the late Silas & Sadie (Gehrt) Anton in Embarrass, WI. Bill proudly served in the Army National Guard from 1955 - 1963. He married Rhona Piechocki on June 29, 1963 at First English Lutheran Church at which time he became a member and was an usher for 40+ years. Bill's hobbies were his family and church. He had exceptional mechanical aptitude and loved to work with his hands. Bill was an excellent Auto Technician; he retired from Gustman's of Appleton. He was very involved with home repairs and enjoyed tinkering with motors and engines. He liked to fish, hunt deer and camp.
    Bill is survived by his wife of 53 years of marriage, Rhona; two daughters: Sharon (Neil) Vanden Brook, Sunnyvale, CA and Karleen (Scott) Ward, Greenville; brother: Wallace (Cathy) Anton, Embarrass, WI and brother-in-law: Jerome Smith. He is further survived by additional family and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister: Eunice Smith.
    A funeral service for Bill Anton will be held at 11AM, Saturday, November 12, at First English Lutheran Church, 326 E North St, with Rev. Jeff Tengesdal officiating. Friends may visit from 9AM until the time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
