    Obituary:
    Fern LaVenna Taylor, age 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at her home in Appleton. Fern was born on February 18, 1936, in Shiocton, daughter of the late Fred and Marzella (Helms) Kamke. She was the third of thirteen children and spent most of her earlier days being raised on farms. She graduated from Shiocton High School. On June 11, 1960, she was married to Peter W. Taylor in Hortonville. Fern was a big fan of country music, particularly Alan Jackson, and loved going to concerts, especially Country USA. She also loved Polka music and Polka dancing. Fern loved to open up her home to family and friends and would often have them over for cookouts.
    She loved playing bingo, gardening flowers, and bird watching with her youngest grandson, Hunter.
    Fern is survived by her husband, Peter; her children, Debbie (special friend Mark) Kemkes, Jeff Taylor, Madonna (Dwaine) Kerk, Kelly (Adam) Scheibe, and Brian (special friend Dana) Taylor; her grandchildren, Casey (Brad) Menting, Michelle Kemkes, Cory (special friend Emma) Kemkes, Jake Kerk, and Hunter Scheibe; one great-grandchild, Lynzi Kemkes; sisters, LaVern Rice, Lorraine (Eugene) Young, Linda (Gerald) Young, JoAnn Taylor, Hope Prahl, Jane Pomerenke, and Della (special friend Tom) Prahl; and a god-child, Shelby Wessley.
    She was further preceded in death by her brothers, Fred Kamke, Jr., and Kenneth Kamke; and her sisters, Jean Kamke, Pearl Kamke, and Judy Kamke.
    The funeral service for Fern will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 19, 2011, at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, 2211 N. Richmond Street, Appleton, with Chaplain Jordan Kuczwara officiating. Friends may call on Friday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
    The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses and staff with ThedaCare Hospice.

    Obituary:
    Lavern Ella Louise Rice, age 76, Shiocton, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Monday, November 04, 2013. LaVern was born on July 28, 1937, in Ripon, daughter of the late Fred and Marcella (Helms) Kamke. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She also loved horses, polka, country music, playing cards and Saturday nights with Jane and JoAnn. LaVern was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
    She is survived by her daughters, Sheila (Jim) Betchner, New London and Crystal (Josh) Winterfeldt, Shiocton; grandchildren: Andrea Betchner, Peter Betchner, Ethan Stenz, Zander Stenz, Nova Winterfeldt and Veda Winterfeldt. Six sisters: Lorraine (Eugene) Young, Bonduel; Linda (Gerald) Young, Shawano; JoAnn Taylor, New London; Hope Prahl, Manawa; Jane Pomerenke, Waupaca and Della Prahl (special friend, Tom Rhode), Clintonville. LaVern is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Fred Kamke Jr. and Kenneth Kamke, and four sisters: Fern Taylor, Jean Kamke, Judy Kamke and Pearl Kamke.
    Funeral services for LaVern will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home, Shiocton with Bishop Christopher Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Town of Maine. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
