Mrs. Marcellus Van Gompel, ( June Verhagen) , 338 Cherry Lane Little Chute; Age 51 passed away at 4: 35 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 1986. She was a life long resident of Litt le Chute. She was born, June 1, 1935, in Little Chute. She graduated fr om St. John High School, Little Chute, in 1953. Mrs. VanGompel was a memb er of St. John's Catholic Church, a former member and President of the S t. John School Board, also former member of the adult choir. She was a mem ber of the Worship Committee, a Vice-President and President-of the Home S chool Association. She was a Religious Education Teacher, a Den Mother Pa ck 51, a Vice President of the PTA Little Chute Elementary School, a memb er of the Diocesan Ministry for the engaged, and was active in the Dioce se of Green Bay Cursillo program. Survivors include her husband, Marcell us (mumps); her mother, Del Verhagen, Llttle Chute; three sons: Russell Va nGompel and his wife, Mary Jo, and their son, Marc, Roseville.Minnesot a; Gregory VanGompel and his wife, Sheila, Crystal, Minnesota; Tim VanGomp el, Little Chute; three brothers: James Verhagen, and his wife, Myra, Darb oy; Eugene Verhagen, and his wife, Sandy, Kaukauna; Douglas Verhagen, Litt le Chute; a sister, Grace Fiestedt, and her husband, Carl, Greenville; a s ister-in-law, Fran Verhagen, Little Chute. She was preceded in death by h er father, Walter Verhagen, a brother, Walter Verhagen Jr. both of Litt le Chute. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, from St. John Catholic C hurch, with the Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Friends may ca ll at St. John Catholic Church, from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Friday (today) and fr om 12 noon Saturday until the time of service. There will be a prayer serv ice at 7:30 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been estab lished. The Verkuilen Funeral Home is assisting the family.
