    Van De Hey, Arvilla Imelda Kempen, Sutherlin, Oregon Age 84, passed away July 25, 2003. She was born February 20, 1919 in Woodv ille, Wisconsin to William H. and Heniretta (Arts) Kempen. She was rais ed on a farm and was the oldest of six siblings. She graduated from high s chool in Little Chute, WI with perfect attendance. After high school she w orked at St. Lawrence College in Appleton. WI. She married Roche J. V an De Hey on June 18, 1940 at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtow n, WI. They started their family in Manitowoc, WI and built their first ho me in Whitelaw, WI. Arvilla was very active in the Rosary, Altar Society a nd Christian Mother of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Whitelaw, as we ll as a 4-H Leader. In 1963 the family moved to a farm outside of Whitelaw .In 1966 Arvilla and Roche moved their family to Sutherlin, Oregon. There s he participated in Lady Lions and served as President in 1971-72 and 1973- 74. She was the oldest living member of the Lady Lions and had received h er 35-year membership pin recently. She was a member of St. Francis Xavi er Catholic Church and Altar Society since 1966. Arvilla prided herse lf in her homemaking and excellent seamstress skills and passed these skil ls on to her children. Arvilla became an accomplished artist after raisi ng 11 children. Her children have appreciated her oil paintings in their h omes. She loved to play cards with her family and friends every chance s he got. Our mother was a saint...for all she did for children; she sacrifi ced a lot for us, took good care of us, set us straight and tried to gi ve as much time to us as she she could...and then she got very, very tired .Arvilla and Roche developed and operated the Sutherlin Knolls from 19 75 to 1986.She is survived by her husband, Roche Van De Hey of 63 years and sons: Ric hard (Mona) Van De Hey, Eugene; Daniel Van De Hey, Eugene; Gerald (fianc ee Judy) Van De Hey, Sutherlin; Lee (Angie) Van De Hey, Newberg. She is al so survived by seven daughters: Sandra (Richard) Brady, Salem; Pamela Henn richs, Oakland; Penelope (Dennis) Towne, Lake Oswega; Donna (Robert) Ellio tt, Salem; Debra (Herman Stonebraker, Lake Oswego; Kim (John) Hensley, Eug ene; Rochelle (Mark) Cornilsen, Oakland; 22 grandchildren: Dean and Cra ig Van De Hey, Scott, Ryan and Shaun Brady, Brian Hennricks and Nicole Sch oenhals, Curtis and Amy Van De Hey, Jill Dixon, Todd Johnson and Robin Sta ncliff, Tyler and Chad Elliott, Emily and Dane Stonebraker, Jacob Hensle y, Nickles and John Cornilsen, Chelsey, Stefanie, and Zachary Van De He y; 15 great-grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousin s. She is also survived by her sisters: Evelyn Van Lanen, Cordell Hurst, a nd Delores Schaefer and husband, Jerry; her sisters-in-law: Irene Kempen a nd Germaine Kempen, all of Wisconsin. She is further survived by her husba nds family, Majilla Ambrosius, Robert and Rita Van De Hey, Lloyd and Pat V an De Hey, Kathy and Russ Beck, Theresa Eiting, Marie and Dick Reetz, Conn ie and Dorothy Van De Hey, all of Wisconsin. Arvilla was preceded in dea th by her parents, her brothers, Melin and Russell Kemper, brothers-in-la w: Ralph Van Lanen, Harold Rosin, Floyd Hurst and her in-laws: Elmer and M ill Van De Hey, Norbert Ambrosias, Pauline Van De Hey, Robert Frank, Harla nd Eiting and Sly Thiele. Arvilla's love for her family and friends will a lways be cherished.Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at Chapel of t he Firs, 881 W. Sixth St., Sutherlin.     Van Lanen, Evelyn H. (Kempen) Evelyn H. Van Lanen was reunited in Heaven with her husband, Ralph, Monday, April 23, 2012. Evelyn was born, June 12, 1922 in Hollandtown, WI to the late William and Hattie (Arts) Kempen. October 14, 1943, Evelyn married Ralph A. Van Lanen who preceded her in death, January 1, 1988. Evelyn and Ralph were Charter Members of the American Legion Urban Klister Post #436 Wrightstown; VFW Auxiliary of Winiecki Post #9677, Bellevue. Evelyn was a member of the Alter Rosary Society of St. Bernard's Parish. She was an avid bowler for many years and Sheepshead was her card game of choice. She enjoyed participating in activities at the Senior Center; loved Bingo and Dominoes and has been known to assemble many puzzles. Survivors include five daughters, Joyce Hoeft, Green Bay, Linda (David) Jaloszynski, Cedar Grove, Beverly (Mark) Hendricks, New Franken, Diane (Gary) Gierach, Hurley, Judy (Steve) Fifrick, DePere; son, Paul (Lisa) Van Lanen, Green Bay; daughter-in-law Linda Van Lanen, Bellevue; eleven grandchildren, Melissa (Rick) Reith, Steven (Shelley) Van Lanen, Melanie and Erin Hagerty, Chad (Christina) Hendricks, Craig (Betsy) Hendricks, Stacey (Shane) Wilcox, Brianne (Jim) Beyer, Derek Hillis, Serena and Victor Van Lanen; 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cordell Hurst (Leo), Delores (Gerald) Schaefer; five in-laws, Irene Kempen, Germaine Kempen, Mary Kessler, William (MaryLou) Van Lanen, Sr. Anne Jude; nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.     Cordell (Rosin) Hurst, nee Kempen, Kaukauna, age 89, died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on November 20, 1924 in Hollandtown, daughter of the late William and Hattie (Arts) Kempen. Cordell was united in marriage to Harold Rosin on December 2, 1950. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1976. She was then married to Floyd Hurst on June 28, 1978. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1989. Cordell graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1942 and proudly never missed a day of school. She was a longstanding and faithful member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and its Altar Society, the American Legion Auxiliary in Wrightstown, an avid bowler in her younger years and in her later years, golfing and cards. She enjoyed many great times and memories at the cottage on Berry Lake. Cordell was a member of the Rainbow Club until she met Leo Micke, her fiancé, who she resided with until her death.
    She is survived by her 12 children: Ron Rosin, Sue (Marty) Becker, Robert (Mary Kay) Rosin, James (Pam) Rosin, Shirley (Tom) Havel, Harold (Vicki) Rosin Jr., Carl (Sandi) Rosin, Lori (Bob) Gossen, Luann (Tom "Cubby") Calmes, Alan Rosin, Mary Ambrose (special friend Will Schroeder) and Dennis Rosin; two step-children: Jerry (Melody) Hurst and Tom (Kleo) Hurst; 24 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 1 step great-grandchild; a sister, Delores (Gerald) Schaefer; 6 sisters-in-law: Germaine and Irene Kempen, Irene Schiebe, Ruth, Betty and Toni Rosin. She is further survived by Leo's children: Joan Micke, Gene (Kathy) Micke, Gary (Carol) Micke, Duane (Lynn) Ihde and Don (Barb) Micke.
    She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Donna Rosin; a grandson, Brian Rosin; brothers and sisters: Merlin Kempen, Arvilla (Roche) Vande Hey, Evelyn (Ralph) Van Lanen and Russell Kempen; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Inez Ziettlow, Ervin Maves, Irma (Walter) Schiebe, Melvin (Geraldine) Rosin, Ervin, Oscar, Robert, and Lester Rosin and Ed Schiebe.
    The Mass of Christian Burial for Cordell will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 17, 2014 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating.     Russell N. Kempen, W 2865 Cty Rd KK Kaukauna,age 72, died unexpectedly of a stroke early Sunday morning August 23, 1998 at home. He was born May 7, 1926 at home in Hollandtown the son of the late William and Hattie (Arts) Kempen. He married Germaine Van Treeck at St. Mary's Catholic Church Kaukauna on April 14, 1951. Russell farmed on the home place until his retirement in 1987 after which time he remained active helping his son, Tony, with the farm. He lived for the farm, deer hunting and Packer football. He shot in the Schut for 25 years and was an active member of St. Francis parish in Hollandtown. He loved spending time with his family and many friends, and he enjoyed teasing everybody, especiall his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Germaine Van Treeck Kempen; two daughters; Debbie Kempen, Kaukauna; Bonnie (John) Giordana, Little Chute; two sons; Tony (Terri) Kempen, Brillion; Dan (Kathy) Kempen, Fond du Lac; seven grandchildren; Angela, Uriah, Nicholas and Jonathon Giordana, Jenny, Amy and Andy Kempen; four sisters; Arvilla (Roche) Vande Hey, Sutherlin, Oregon; Evelyn Van Lanen, Green Bay; Cordell Hurst, Kaukauna; Delores (Gerald) Schaefer, Appleton; a sister in-law, Irene Kempen, Appleton. He is furthur survived by his wife's two brothers; Cletus (Louise) Van Treeck, Kaukauna; Jack (Ruth) Van Treeck, Kaukauna; his wife's sister, Eyla Mae (Roger) Zwiers, Kaukauna; numerous nieces, nephews, Godchildren and much loved cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Marianne Kempen, a brother, Merlin Kempen, three brothers in-law; Ralph Van Lanen, Harold Rosin and Floyd Hurst. The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Wednesday, August 26, 1998 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown with Fr. Stan Browne officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis cemetery, Hollandtown. Friends may call at Fargo Funeral home 400 W. Wis. Ave. Kaukauna from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday and after 9:30 AM Wednesday at the church until the time of service. There will be a parish prayer service at 7:30 Pm Tuesday evening.     Dolores Schaefer passed away peacefully at the Heritage with her husband Gerald at her side on Tues. May 19, 2015. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 AM, Sat.     Dolores M. Schaefer Appleton, 87, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at home with her husband at her side. She was born on Sept 14, 1927, the daughter of the late William and Hattie (Arts) Kempen. Dolores grew up on a poultry farm. She attended St. Francis School in Holland Town and Kaukauna High School; graduating in 1945 to work at Kaukauna Club Cheese Co. On Sep 12, 1949 she wed Jerry Schaefer; settled on the Schaefer homestead; and canned, sewed and mothered 6 babies in 7 years. In 1965 earned an associate's degree from FVTC, worked for State Farm Ins., Appleton Structural Steel, and I. Bachall. Her talents included crocheting, knitting, sewing, Sudoku, and decorating cakes. She was very active in the Healing Ministry: member of St. Bernard's Parish; Cross and Crown Prayer Group and Intercessors of Light Prayer Group. Family and friends appreciated her creativity; and her diligence to work quietly behind the scenes. She was called the 'Birthday Cake Grandma!' Her love is not easy to put into words - she was loyal, trustworthy and our dear sweet Mother.
    She'll be sorely missed by her husband of 65 years, Gerald R.     Van Lanen, Mary JoMary Jo Van Lanen, 48, completed her journey May 12, 2003, at home surroun ded by her family and friends following a battle with cancer and Multip le Sclerosis. She was born Aug. 1, 1954, in Green Bay, to Ralph and Evel yn Van Lanen. Mary Jo was a Charter member of the N.E.W. Zoo Boosters.     Ronald A. Rosin, age 65, of Appleton, passed away at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton, on Monday, July 11, 2016. Ron was born on May 30, 1951, in Appleton, to the late Harold and Cordell (Hurst) Rosin. He married Donna Jean Peters on April 18, 1975 in Oneida; she preceded him in death in 2003.
    Following his graduation from Kaukauna High School, Ron was employed at Elm Tree Bakery (later Rich's Bakery). Following the closure of Rich's, he was a truck driver and then was employed at Thilmany Paper Company until his retirement. Ron attended Holy Cross Catholic Church and school and later became a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Appleton. His fondest memories of St. B's were the church picnics. He truly enjoyed the rides and games with his entire family. Ron served as president of Catholic Financial for 26 years. He felt honored to sit next to Cardinal Timothy Dolan at a District Meeting in Milwaukee.
    Survivors include his daughter, Becky Rosin of Suamico; his sisters and brothers, Sue (Marty) Becker, Robert (Mary Kay) Rosin, James (Pam) Rosin, Shirley (Tom) Havel, Harold (Vicki) Rosin, Carl (Sandi) Rosin, Lori (Bob) Gossen, Luann (Tom) Calmes, Alan Rosin, Mary Ambrose and Dennis Rosin; his grandchildren, Austin Toyra, Peyton and Aryanah Rosin. He is further survived by many other family members and friends.
    The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2016, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends may call at the Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Kaukauna, on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again directly at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you his special friend Jere Ambroso, and Nancy and Todd at Cherry Meadows, for their loving care. A memorial has been established in his name.
