Salm, Harold F. "Ringo"Harold F. "Ringo" Salm. The man who was always "just about perfect" is n ow perfect in the arms of our Lord. Harold F. "Ringo" Salm, of Kaukauna, a ge 63, died Saturday October 15, 2005, with his family at his side followi ng a courageous battle with cancer. He was born May 28, 1942, in Appleto n, son of the late Roman and Marie (Hietpas) Salm. He graduated from St. J ohn High School in 1960 and was active in the parish with the building a nd grounds committee for many years. He served in the US Army Reserve. Rin go married Patti Cooper February 17, 1984.Ringo earned a reputation as a hard-working and skilled tradesman. He spe nt his early years in the plumbing trade with Hietpas Company, and work ed throughout the Midwest. He founded Salm Plumbing in 1985, a busine ss he later ran with his son, Lenny.Ringo adored his wife, Patti (Sweet Pea), and treasured time with his fami ly. He enjoyed "the hunting shack" up north and fishing, especially sturge on fishing. He always looked forward to "Friday-night-fish" at the Darb oy Club and a good cigar with his favorite Western movie.In addition to his wife, Ringo is survived by three children: Lindy (Cla y) Verhagen, Sally Weborg, Lenny (Nicole) Salm, all of Appleton; eight gra ndchildren: Josh, Kailyn and Katrina Verhagen; Megan and Haley Weborg; Col e, Riley and Ava Salm; 12 brothers and sisters: Ray Salm; Doris (Bill) Jan sen; Jim (Karen) Salm; Junior (Virgie) Salm; Marian (Jack ) Vande Hey; Jan ice (Ken) VandeHey; Jerome "Soupy" (Lois) Salm; Cathy (Dick) Bauer; Bob (G ail) Salm; Dick (Peg) Salm; Deb (Steve) Halverson; Anne (Glenn) Higgins; f ather and mother-in-law, Jim and Delores Cooper; and brothers and sisters- in-law: Denise (Curt) Anderson, Twyla Menart and Mike (Di Ann) Cooper; Den nis Terwey. Ringo is also survived by many aunts and uncles, nieces, nephe ws and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law, Diane Terwey a nd his Godfather, Harold Hietpas.The Funeral Mass will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday October 20, 2005 at S t. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute. The Rev. Msgr. James Van den Hogen will officiate. Friends may call Thursday after 1:30 p.m. unt il the time of Mass at church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has be en established. Interment St. John Cemetery, Little Chute.The family would like to express its great appreciation for all the lovi ng support and care Ringo received from family and friends; a special no te of thanks to Affinity Hospice, especially Ellen, and also to Monsign or Jim.Ringo, there is "no doubt in my mind," we will be together again some d ay and the first thing you will ask is "How the hell she going?"
