LEAVE TWENTY GRAND CHILDREN BY DEATH
Mrs. W. Burmeister Dies Early this Morning - Fourteen Great Grand Children
Mrs. Wilhelmine Burmeister died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Van Wyk, 421 Second avenue, about 4 o'clock this morning, where she has made her home for the past fourteen years. She was 81 years old, and had been ill for about a year.
The funeral will be held Monday afternoon from the home of her daughter, at 2:30, interment at Riverside Cemetery, with Rev. Theodore Marth in charge of the services. Her husband died about fourteen years ago. The deceased came to this country when a little girl, from Germany. She is survived by five children: Mrs. Charles Pingle, William Burmeister, Mrs. William Van Wyk, Appleton; Fred, New Auburn; Henry, Seattle, Wash. There is one brother, John Koehn. There are also twenty grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. She had lived here about sixty years.

Wilhelmina was born in Varchentin Parish, which is just south of Stavenhagen, Mecklenburg, Germany. Although her headstone says she was born in 14 March 1835, it was actually 13 March 1834. Also note the initials S. F. are incorrect for her middle names, since her baptismal name was actually Wilhelmina Maria Friedricke Koehn. Photos on husband's memorial.

He was a good story teller cracking everyone up with his own special brand of humor. The family would like to extend a special thank you to both Judy Genske for all she has done for our Dad, including saving his life 2 years ago and especially for all her help the day he passed, and to a good friend Mary Fritsch, who was like a sister to us.
    "Fisherman's Prayer"
I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast, I then most humbly pray. When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep, that in His mercy I be judged big enough to keep.
Dad, you are a keeper and you'll always be missed dearly by all of us! Rest in peace.
