    Obituary:
    Michael J. "Moses" Beisser, 51, Howard, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, from lung cancer.
    He was born Sept. 9, 1957, to Christian and Magdalene Burkard Beisser. He grew up in the small town of Batavia in Sheboygan County. When he was ten, his widowed mother moved he and his sister to Green Bay, where he has lived ever since.
    Mike attended Batavia Elementary, Cathedral Grade and Washington Junior High Schools. After graduating from East High School in 1976, he attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical Institute, where he earned a certificate in Machine Tool Operation and a degree in Transportation Distribution.
    Mike was a skilled woodworker and made some beautiful and intricate furniture pieces for family and friends. He was an avid hunter and some of his most memorable moments were spent up at the cottage near Crivitz, and with his hunting buddies on their annual trips out west to hunt.
    He worked in construction and building maintenance his entire work life. Mike worked as a carpenter with both Olson and Herlache Construction. Before retiring due to illness this Spring, he worked for 20 years for Total Service Development, the last years working maintenance at the Villas of Beaver Dam.
    Mike is survived by his two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara (Jim) Somers, Kris (Tom) Matthies; a brother and sister-in-law, Christian "Dick" (Jean) Beisser; his nieces and nephews, Mark Somers, Sharon (Scott) Parr, Brian (Linda) Somers, Julie (Chris) Cherechinsky, Joan (Tom) Dugandzic, Kevin (Andrea) Beisser, Amy Ikner, Matthew (Sujhey) Beisser, Lee Olson, Katie (Tristan) Lutzke; his grandnieces and grandnephews, Jessica Somers, Danny Jankowski, Brandon (Michelle) Sagan, Jennifer (Terry Gannigan) Panietz, Bob (Ashley) Panietz, Ben and Sara Somers, Rachel and Joey Cherechinsky, Tommy and Nicholas Dugandzic, Sammy and Alex Ikner, Diego and Pablo Beisser, Joshua and Miranda Beisser. He is also survived by a special brother-in-law, Ron Olson; and Mike's other family, Deb and Amanda Ward, Scott (Heidi) Ward; five godchildren and many great friends.
    Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. A Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Gail Sowell officiating. Friends may also call at the funeral home from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Ann Fox and the Rev. Paul Demuth officiating. Burial will follow next to his parents at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Cascade, Wis. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
    Memorials can be made in Mike's honor to Unity Hospice or Calvary Lutheran Church Food Pantry.
    The family wishes to thank the staff of Unity Hospice, especially Lisa Garbe, for providing such special care to Mike in his last weeks.
