Hi again; I hope all is going well. Lucille; about that accident...what I wanted to tell Jay, is that the dat es of death are incorrect in the records. Johanna TeVrucht died in 1927 and her husba ndRobert died also in 1927, just one day apart; as a result of injuries fr om that accident. The info stated for Roberts' death is incorrect, he di ed in 1927, not 1937. Mom told me there was a T in the road just like you said...and the reas on he was absolved of all guilt; that's in the article I have also...is be cause the County or State was at fault for it not being marked with a sig n. They went off the end and flipped over and Dad had broken ribs at the t ime of the funeral from the accident...Mom said it took its toll on Dad EV ERY YEAR. At that time of the year he would get real quiet for about a wee k...it must have really been hard on him knowing that he caused their deat hs.Even though he was found not guilty of any wrongdoing. He was question ed if he had been drinking; and even what time he went to bed the night b efore.Do you know what is so weird???? Mom and Dad were engaged at the time a nd she wanted to go along on that trip but her Mother said no...she couldn 't they thought she should not accompany him on a trip like that and she w as 19 years old...isn't that ironic?Mom said the TeVrucht Children, were all ages; and that Dads Sister went b ack a SECOND time to say good bye to them...she was already in the car a nd got out again and said goodbye ...that's so bizarre, maybe a premonitio n.I have those old pictures of the double funeral and the caskets...how sa d. My Dad looked very distraught.
Can you tell me about where on old highway 57 that would be?
Near what? Or Where? is that just outside of Hollandtown? How would I go there to see it? It's my understanding that highway 57 go es to Chilton? Or Green Bay?So is this Robert a descendant of that Brother-in law of Dads that died fr om that accident? I know the TeVrucht children were all placed in homes a nd some were adopted and would no longer possibly be TeVrucht. I will ema il Robert and try to find out more information.
I better end this as its getting lengthy.
Write soon and I hope all is well with you.
    Judi
