He lived in the Kaukauna area all of his life and had been employed at Badger Northland for 17 years prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna.

    Loretta M. Quaintance, 92, of Kaukauna, passed away at home on July 30, 2014. Loretta was born on May 29, 1922 to Frank and Cecelia (Wulgaert) Van Eyck in Little Chute. She was a wonderful mother and was always there for her family. Loretta was feisty and always spoke her mind. Her family was the most important thing to her and the time she spent with them will always be cherished. She also liked crafting and doing all kinds of puzzles.
    Loretta is survived by three children; Linda (Abe) Dotson, Appleton, Rod (Jan) Quaintance, Kaukauna, and Laura (John) Coffey, Kaukauna, a daughter-in-law, Carol Quaintance, 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She is further survived by a brother, Dominick (Carol) Van Eyck and a sister-in-law, Bea (Richard) Hahn and her kitty Molly. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, a son Ronald and her brothers and sisters.
    A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the FARGO FUNERAL HOME, 400 Wisconsin ave., Kaukauna.     Nick Van Eyck passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017, at Kaukauna's St. Paul Home, following a brief illness. He was born May 11, 1930 in Little Chute to the late Frank and Cecelia (Wulgaert) Van Eyck, and the world hasn't been the same since. We think he was 86 years old, or maybe 1006, we are not quite sure, because at every event Nick attended, he loved to say it was his "birthday" in order to collect kisses from all the pretty girls.
    Nick graduated from St. John High School in Little Chute, then proudly served his country in both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. In 1955, Nick married Arlene Johnson, and together they raised six children. In 1998, he lost his first wife, and in 1997 married Carol Sarnowski, gaining five step-children.
    Nick was a letter carrier in Little Chute for many years and often worked two or more jobs at a time. After retirement, Nick could not settle down for long before deciding it was time to return to work. He then decided to get a job working as a maintenance man at the Little Chute Elementary School, where he was affectionately called "Grandpa" by all the kids. He loved to read books to children and have the kids read to him during free time. Nick loved to laugh and was often the life of the party. He loved to help anyone who was in need and would have gladly given the shirt off his back if someone asked. Nick loved to hold and snuggle babies and would often be seen holding and rocking them for hours. He spent many a day playing with his grandchildren. Nick also loved to travel and went to Africa several times to visit his step-daughter Sarah. Nick had so many friends, there wasn't a single place he went that he didn't somehow run into someone he knew.
    Nick is survived by his wife: Carol Van Eyck of Kaukauna; six children: Vicky (Jeff) Last of Kimberly; Pat (Glenn) Phillips of Greenville; Pam Van Eyck of Oconto Falls; Tim (Gisele Beringhaus) Van Eyck of Marshfield; Lynn Brighum of Appleton; and Lisa (Gary) Neubauer of Weyauwega. Carol's children are: Mary (Mark) Metzker of Germantown; Chris (Janet) Sarnowski of Philadelphia; Jennifer Sarnowski of Milwaukee; Sarah (Kakia) Kakia of Namibia; and Anthony (Amy) Sarnowski of Whitefish Bay; and a sister-in-law: Beata Van Eyck. There are twenty-six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Nick was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Arlene, his brothers and sisters: Cyril (Mary) Van Eyck, Agnes (Andrew) Sarnowski, Loretta (Leroy) Quaintance, Vincent Van Eyck, Francis (Katie) Van Eyck, Paul Van Eyck, and Theresa (Ervin "Bud") Marquardt, as well as many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
    The funeral liturgy for Nick will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL - ST. MARY CHURCH, 119 W. 7th Street in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Military honors will follow the service, and inurnment will be in Union Cemetery.     Survivors include her five children: Mark (Gerdi) Oliva, Altershausen, Germany; Mary Lee (Richard) Salem, Madison; Michael Oliva (Pat Meyer), Madison; Anne (Paul "Dusty") Schweitzer, Beaver Dam; Jean (Peter) Kovaleski, Stafford Springs, Connecticut; four grandchildren, Kirsten, Anja and Peter Oliva, Germany; and Laura Schweitzer, Madison. She is survived by one brother, Lee (Char) Bevers, Cedarburg. Her husband; two brothers, Eugene and Albin (Ginny); and sister-in-law, Lillian Eiting, preceded her in death.
    We will remember Mom for her love of Wisconsin sports, her kindness toward others, her inquiring mind, her selflessness, and her chocolate chip cookies.
    The funeral liturgy for Serena will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna. Fr. Tom Pomeroy will be officiating. Inurnment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Kaukauna. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 8:30 am until the time of mass.     Albin L. Bevers, Appleton, age 86, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at Cherry Meadows. Albin was born August 13, 1920, in Little Chute, son of the late John and Anne (Vaneyck) Bevers. On June 1, 1946, Albin was united in marriage to Virginia Hooyman. The couple enjoyed 56 years together until her death in 2002. He attended Marquette University and was a graduate of Actual Business College. He was employed by Home Mutual Insurance Co. (now Secura) for 42 years. He was Vice President and Secretary of Home Mutual and each of its subsidiaries. He was also President of Homeco Financial Corporation and served on the board of directors of these corporations. He proudly served his country as a member of the Army Air Force during World War II and served in the China, Burma, and India Theatres. He served as Secretary and Director of the Wisconsin Mutual Insurance Alliance for three different terms. He was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion Post 258. As a Green Bay Packer fan, he held season tickets since 1940 and was an ardent golfer.
    He is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law: Carla Sexton, Susan (Chris) Sitzmann, Patty (Bill) Dean, all of Appleton; Nancy (Bill) Hannon, Stillwater, Minnesota; eight grandchildren: Jenny (Mike) Bienert, Andy (Carrie) Sexton, Scott (Anne) Dean, Kristin Dean, Sara, Katie, and Elezabeth Sitzmann, and Megan Hannon; his great-grandson, Timothy Bienert; a sister and brother-in-law: Serena and Edward Oliva, Kaukauna; a brother and sister-in-law Lee and Char Bevers, Cedarburg.
    He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia, his parents, and a brother Eugene Bevers.
    A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, May 25, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, corner of Glendale and McDonald St. Appleton, with the Rev. Gerald Falk officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday, from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park with complete Military Honors. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established.

    Mary L. Van Eyck, 74, Appleton, passed away in Manawa, on Saturday, June 6, 2009. She was born on March 13, 1935, the daughter of the late Albert and Dina (Vander Heyden) Van Eyck. Mary was a baker and loved to cook. She worked at the Old Country Buffet as a baker for many years. Mary loved spending time with her family, especially playing cards and darts. She had a heart of gold and will be greatly missed.

She enjoyed nature, especially feeding the birds and spending time up north. She was a hard worker, who always put others first. What Linda loved most was spending time with her grandson, Gatsby.
    Linda is survived by her significant other, Mark Meyer, Bear Creek; son, Ken Mischler, New London; grandson, Gatsby Pfefferle-Mischler, New London; nephews, Jay and Trevor; nieces, Venesha, Melissa, and Shannon; and siblings, Dave Mischler, Kaukauna, Dan Mischler, Kaukauna, Jeff (Krista) Mischler, Kimberly, Bill Mischler, Kaukauna, and Diane (Allen) Vaile, Pearson. She is further survived by numerous relatives and friends, especially her dear friend Diane Zimmerman.

    Jean Ann Rivera, age 57, of Berlin, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at home in Berlin following a battle with cancer.
    She was born February 16, 1957 in Sherwood, WI, the daughter of Andrew and Agnes Van Eyck Sarnowski. On December 7, 2008, she was united in marriage to Victor Rivera. She loved the outdoors, four-wheeling and her grandchildren. She enjoyed crafts and woodworking. She was an inspirational, devoted, beautiful and loving individual.
    Jean is survived by her husband, Victor; three daughters, Holly (Josh) Engelmann, Heather (Eric) Maas, and Jill (Dustin) Lentz; two sons, Brett Knudsen and Logan Knudsen; the children's father, Steven Knudsen; eight grandchildren, Kira, Hailey, Paine, Damien, Dexter and William Engelmann, Hunter and Olivia Maas; special friend, Spartacus; her brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews. She is further survived by the members of Victor's family.
    Jean was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Richard and Keith Sarnowski; and a sister, Cynthia Boehnlein.
    Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 21, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Friends and relatives may gather on Monday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Barbola Funeral Chapel.

    Judy A. Krogman, age 49, of Appleton, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 6, 2014. Judy was born on December 30, 1964, in Appleton, to the late Fran and Katie Van Eyck. She was a 1983 graduate of Appleton West High School and was later employed as a CNA and also at Target. Judy was a loving wife and sister. She was well-known as a caring neighbor. Squirrels everywhere will miss her.
    Survivors include her husband, David, Krogman; her brothers, Peter (Bill) Martin, and Bruce (Kathy) Van Eyck. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives, her special friends, Billy Plouscher, Frank McGinnis and Angie Steger, and her former husband Pat Bell.
    Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N. Superior Street, Appleton, with Deacon Gerry Schraufnagel officiating.     Michael R. "Mike" Marquardt, age 49, of Kaukauna, died unexpectedly on Thursday, December 25, 2008, at his residence. Mike was born on February 4, 1959, in Kaukauna, the son of Ervin and Theresa (Van Eyck) Marquardt. Mike was owner-operator and partner in Four Seasons Siding Co. in Kaukauna. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his son Eric.
    Survivors include his son Eric, Kaukauna; a daughter, Sarah (Tom) Bucek of Milwaukee; a grandson, Cole Bucek; three sisters and a brother: Beth (Jeff) Lautenschlager of Appleton, Luane (Ken) Anderson of Kaukauna, Mark Marquardt of Kaukauna, and Deb (Steve) Brockman of Kaukauna. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
    Preceding him in death were his parents and a brother Daniel.
    Memorial services for Mike will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, January 2, 2009, at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna, (920-766-2099). Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of services.
