Obituary:
Arlyn Bruce Kellerman, age 79, of Oshkosh, passed away suddenly Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at the Omro Care Center after a lengthy illness. He was born May 31, 1927, in Neenah to the late Frank and Freda (Berndt) Kellerman of Larsen. Arlyn was one of two sets of twins born to their family. He attended Mikesville Grade School and graduated from Neenah High School in 1945. Arlyn served his country with the 1st Cavalry Division of the occupational force in Japan from December 1945 until May of 1947. He married Joyce Carol Eckstein on April 14, 1951 in Neenah and they made their home in Winneconne from 1955 to 1970 and from 1970 until now Arlyn and Joyce have farmed the Eckstein family farm in the Town of Vinland.
Arlyn's childhood was spent enjoying singing together with his family as his mother played the organ. His time was spent as a farm hand, baling hay, neighborhood thrashing, trucking pea vine waste away from the Winneconne Canning Factory, and hauling milk for Dennis Long Trucking, before being employed for 37 years by Bergstrom Paper Co., now P.H. Glatfelter Co., retiring in 1990. Arlyn was a lifetime member of the Wisconsin AmVets and a member of St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church in Winneconne. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, bowling, playing darts with his church team, going on day trips, listening to polka music, and for his own pleasure he was self taught to play a concertina and harmonica.
Arlyn is survived by his wife, Joyce Kellerman, Oshkosh; two sons and daughters-in-law: Lt. Col. Glen Arlyn, (serving in Kuwait) and Jody Kellerman, Greenville; Gary Arden and Carol Kellerman, Oshkosh; four daughters and three sons-in-law: Kay Annette and Robert Taylor, Appleton; Gail Ione and Tom Patterson, Winchester; Kim Joylyn Kellerman, Neenah; Karla Sue and Tim Zeinert, Winchester; grandchildren: Anna Gilbert, Glen, Jr., and James Kellerman; Kyle and Abigale Kellerman; Amanda and Stephanie Taylor; Amy, Erin, and Patrick Patterson; Elise and Emily Zeinert. Arlyn is also survived by his twin sister, Arlene (Arlen) Drews, Waupaca; sister, Carolyn Peapenburg, Neenah; brother, Delwin (Arline) Kellerman, Oshkosh; brothers-in-law: Allan (Shirley) Eckstein, Arizona and Oshkosh; Orville Selle, Ripon; Alvin Larson, Indiana; and nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Arlyn was also preceded in death by a brother, Glen Kellerman; two sisters: Carol Selle and Wilma Larson; and a brother-in-law, Donald Peapenburg.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul's Ev. Lutheran Church, Winneconne, with Pastor Mark Albrecht and Pastor John Covach officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park, Oshkosh. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29 (TODAY) from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Mueller Funeral Home, Winneconne, and on Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. A memorial has been established.
