    Obituary:
Appleton - Mary M Ellenbecker, 66, passed away peacefully on Sat. Feb. 3, 2018 at Cherry Meadows Hospice following a short battle with cancer. She was born on Nov. 26, 1951 to the late John and Shirley (Turton) Ellenbecker in Appleton. Mary graduated from St. Norbert College and obtained her master's degree from UW Oshkosh in Education. She was a devoted and beloved teacher who spent over 37 years in the Appleton Public School District. The latter years were spent as an art teacher at Appleton West High School. Mary was a blessing to every life she touched; so sweet, caring and loving. Her positive personality, good natured morals, and independence were just a few of her best qualities. She was passionate about her students and teaching and made many lifelong relationships with her students and fellow teachers.
In her spare time, Mary was a talented artist, loved to garden and was a member of St. Mary Parish Church. She most enjoyed her time spent with her son John and the fun times they had together, including trips to the casinos.
She will be greatly missed by her son, John Schuh and his girlfriend, Brittney; sisters: Nina Ellenbecker and Anne (Dan) Meyer and their children: Carolynn and Don Bodwell and their children: Alanna and Logan; Patrick Meyer; Kathryn Meyer and Matthew Meyer; dear friends: Ellen Edge, Linda Millard and Gail Malott as well as many close neighbors and fellow teachers.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joe Ellenbecker.
A Prayer Service for Mary will be held at 6 PM, Wed. Feb. 7, 2018 at Brettschneider Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Schwictenberg officiating. Friends may visit the family on Wed. from 4 - 6 PM. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established. A special thank you to the staff of Cherry Meadows for their care of Mary the past weeks.

She will forever be in our hearts and her memories will be cherished always.
