    Obituary:
Jesse A Bevers, age 86, of Little Chute, entered eternal life on September 20, 2012. Beloved husband of 63 years to Sally (nee McMorrow). Outstanding father to Steve (Pat), Scott (Cherith), Mary (Terry) Chipman, Joe (Lisa), and Carol Nees. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Myrtle; by brothers Orval and David; sisters Audrey Schmidt and Carol; brothers-in-law Emmett, James, and John McMorrow, Marvin Skalmusky and Woody McCabe; sister-in law Mary McMorrow; and by an infant son and daughter. He is survived by sisters Vivian Skalmusky, Eunice McCabe and Linda (Mark) Hietpas; brothers Wesley (Marge) and Mike (Darlene); sisters-in-law Ruth and Nancy Bevers, Joyce and Thelma McMorrow; and brothers-in-law Jerry Schmidt and Tom (Lois) McMorrow.
Jesse and Sally were proud grandparents of 14 grandchildren (Shawn, Leah, Angela, Jessi, Kyle, Brett, Dan, Patrick, Chris, Josh, Jon, Mike, Ryan and Taylor) and 15 great-grandchildren. Jesse could often be found attending a sporting or special event for first his children, then grandchildren and then great-grandchildren. He loved attending these events and became well known as an avid fan.
After graduating from St. John's High School in 1944 where he excelled in boxing, Jesse proudly served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII as a Staff Sergeant in the Pacific Theatre. Many of his best stories came from this time in his life. He was an active member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 including acting as an honor guard at the funeral of many veterans.
Jesse loved the outdoors and was especially fond of musky fishing and birds of all kinds. His passion for birds led to many years of raising and racing homing pigeons.
Jesse's early work years found him as a mason for C.R.Meyer and he continued to perform this work throughout his lifetime. He was justifiably proud of his masonry work and of the many buildings he helped erect. He worked at Kimberly-Clark until 1976 and retired from Appleton Papers as a mason in 1989.
During Jesse's life the Packers won 13 world championships with dad cheering them on the entire time. The Ice Bowl was one of his proudest moments (perhaps the Packers as well). He's also an owner of the Packers and now that dad is watching from above perhaps he'll have more influence on the outcome of future games.
Jesse was a life-long member of St. John's Church in Little Chute.
Visitation will be held Monday September 24, 2012 at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Ronald Belitz will officiate. Military rites conducted by the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 will immediately follow. Committal St. John Cemetery. To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com. A memorial is being established.
Our family would like to thank, from the bottom of our hearts, the caring and compassionate hospice staff and volunteers including Tina, Gina, Dan, and Phil, as well as the staff at Parkside.
All who knew Jesse benefitted from his legendary storytelling. Now that he has entered eternal life he has millions more willing listeners so we know he's happy. Right now, I can hear dad talking to St. Peter; "Did I ever tell you about the time……………."

    Obituary:
Audrey Bevers Schmidt, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, was surrounded by her family as she took her place in heaven on February 15, 2012.
Born on August 31, 1930 to Adrian and Myrtle Bevers of Little Chute. Growing up she loved to chum around with her Depot Street friends, swimming, and dancing. Audrey learned her love for Christmas, "shop till you drop" attitude and taffy pulling tradition from her mother.
On June 14, 1951, Audrey married her soul mate Jerome "Jerry" Schmidt and they were blessed with ten beautiful children. Audrey's house was always a warm and welcoming place with happy conversation, cookies, taffy, and gumdrops in the freezer. Her flower garden was a display of color and beauty. It attracted a variety of birds for her and Jerry to enjoy together. Inspired by her sisters, she began painting later in life. A gifted artist, her paintings will be cherished by her family forever. She said it best herself when she repeated her mother's adage, "When you believe that the family comes first everything else follows."
Audrey formed the Tri-County Homemakers and was an active member for 51 years. For 60 years, she enjoyed time spent with her childhood friends at card club. Audrey enjoyed vacationing with her friends and camping at Boulder Lake. Audrey was a member of the Altar Society at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown. She also volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul's for many years.
Audrey is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Jerome Schmidt, and their children: Nancy (Dennis) Lauer, Appleton; Michael Schmidt, Kaukauna; Daniel (Ria) Schmidt, Waukesha; Karen (Pat) Wickesberg, Appleton; Barbara Schmidt, Madison; LuAnn (Mark) Langenhuizen, Kaukauna; Steve (Robin) Schmidt, Kaukauna; Bob (Janice) Schmidt, DePere; Amy Basten, Appleton; and Lynn (Gary) Hoffman, Sherwood; grandchildren: Laura (Jason) Bell, Jenny (Nick) Brautigam, Katie (Jon Fuller, special friend) Lauer, Jenna (Ryan) Coleman, Jason (Jeannie), Jodi and Joel Wickesberg, Andrew, Emily (Zach Gohr, special friend), and Leah Dercks, George and Lee Langenhuizen, Sara (Jake) Warrens, Audrey and Tyler Kamps, Alex, Casey and Erika Hoffman, Henry, Ross, Cydney, Zach, Anya, Doug, Jordan and Lauren Schmidt; and great grandchildren: Lexi and Tyler Bell, Drew and Ben Brautigam, Noah Coleman, Dylan and Ethan Wickesberg, and Hunter Langenhuizen. Obituary:
Lester "Les" Bevers, Kaukauna, age 84, was called to Heaven's Wood Shop on Wednesday, January 14, 2015. When he answered the call, he was surrounded by all of his loving children. He was born on October 12, 1930, the son of the late Peter and Josephine (Jansen) Bevers. On June 7, 1952, he was joined in marriage to the love of his life, Betty Milbach, at Holy Cross Church. They would be virtually inseparable for the next 62 years. They would live for most of their time together in the Kimberly/Wrightstown/Kaukauna area, with a brief, idyllic and very happy period at their cozy little cottage in the woods near Crandon, Wisconsin.
Les was a loyal son, brother, husband and father. He served his country proudly and bravely as an Army Corporal in the Korean War. After returning home and settling down with Betty, he worked in the paper industry, mostly at the Kimberly Mill, retiring as a carpenter in 1989. Over his working years, Dad did what he needed to do to support his growing family, at various times working in construction, dairy, and cabinetry in addition to his job at "The Mill".
Les loved working with wood. He was very proud of his craft, and truly enjoyed working with wood-working tools. He had an amazing knack for matching woodgrain, and loved every opportunity to take on cabinet projects. All of his kids have samples of his skill in their homes.
In 1978, Les and Betty purchased a piece of property between Monico and Crandon. Their new property's single feature was a collapsed pile of rubble from a failed attempt by the previous owner to build a cabin. Together they built a beautiful, cozy cabin, nestled among the pines and tamaracks. After retiring, they expanded their retreat into a full-fledged, year-round home. They loved passing the summers together, fishing the local lakes. In the fall and winter, Les loved to hunt, especially deer. Winters were spent stoking the fire, feeding the deer herd and enjoying each other's company. Spring would bring the birds, and they would spend hours feeding and enjoying the variety of birds that visited their feeders. They were also very proud of their flower gardens.
After six wonderful years in the northwoods, they returned to the Kaukauna area to enjoy their remaining years together sharing memories and stories of the "good old days", and spending time with their many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dad continued to enjoy working in his woodshop for a time, until he simply ran out of projects.
As a loving and faithful husband and father, there was never a question about Dad's character, strength and determination during times of adversity. Through it all, Les and Betty made a wonderful home for their eight children. Dad's experience in war served as an inspiration to his kids that there is always an alternative to conflict. Over the years, their brood grew and married, which made for fun holidays and special event celebrations!
Recently, Les was devastated by the loss of his Best Girl. Despite all of the love and support of his children, he just did not have the time or the energy to bounce back. He now joins her, where we can all be certain that he is being treated to Mom's best bakery and cooking.
Les and Betty leave us a fountain of everlasting memories and an amazing legacy! They will be dearly missed by their children Chris (Joyce), Kaukauna and their children, Gwen (Chad) Vanderpas, and James (Michelle) Bevers; Richard (Lucy), Appleton, and their children Richard (Beverly) Bevers and Eric Bevers; David (Susan), Fremont, and their children Jennie Krause and Tim Bevers; Cynthia (Don) Kunstman, Combined Locks, and their children Jeremiah (Kathryn) Kunstman, Kim Tavarez, and Matthew (Rebecca) Kunstman; Thomas (Lynn), Darboy, and their children Nick Bevers, Michael (Heather) Bevers and Nathan Bevers; JoAnn, Menasha, and her children Joshua Bevers, Amanda (Chris) Smith, and Rebecca Sokolowski (special friend, Ricky Davis); and Shelly (Orlan) Buchholtz, Hortonville, and their children Mickenzie (Nathan) Gust, Heather, Robbin, and Brooke; and their pride and joy, twenty-two great-grandchildren.
Les is further survived by a brother, Donald, Penn's Grove, NJ, and a sister, Sandy (Leo) Coonen, Waupaca; brothers-in-law Richard Milbach, Texas, and Daniel (Marlene) Milbach, Port Washington, and sister-in-law Bonnie Milbach, Sturgeon Bay; Betty's sisters-in-law Della Milbach, Appleton, and Kasey Thomas, Kaukauna; special neighbors, Mernie Roloff and Ray Harvey; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives; and a lifetime of friends.
In addition to Betty and his parents, Les was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven; his father- and mother-in-law Nick and Annacel Milbach; his sister LaVerne Mathis and her husband Jacob Mathis; his sister Elizabeth (Betty) Verstegen and her husbands Jerome and Merlin Verstegen; brothers-in-law Nicholas Milbach and his wife, Dorothy, Robert Milbach, and William Milbach; sister-in-law Katherine Bevers; and a close niece, Gail Balthazor.
A celebration of Les' life will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Wednesday, January 21, 2015, at the O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St., Little Chute). This celebration will include a brief prayer service and sharing of memories of a life well-lived at 6:00 p.m. Deacon Bruce Corey, Holy Cross Catholic Church, will officiate. Les will be reunited with Betty in their common urn. Interment of their cremated remains will be at St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Wrightstown, WI, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in their name is being established for ThedaCare Hospice Foundation. To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com.
Dad's final days were spent in comfort, thanks to the tender and compassionate care of the hospice team and staff at Cherry Meadows. The Bevers Family will be eternally grateful to them all for their special guidance and assistance.

    Obituary:
William Francis Van Lieshout, 57, Oshkosh, passed peacefully into eternal life in his home on Thursday, June 16, 2011, surrounded by his family. His passion for teaching and coaching youth athletics, especially tennis was known throughout the State of Wisconsin. He was affectionately known as Bill, Mr. V, or Coach Van Lieshout.
Bill was born on August 1, 1953, in Oswego, New York, the son of Joseph and Mary Jane Bevers Van Lieshout of Menasha. On June 20, 1981, he married Sandra J. Galioto in Milwaukee.
A lifelong resident of the Fox Valley, Bill was a Physical Education Teacher at Merrill Middle School in Oshkosh for 30 years where he coached basketball, volleyball, wrestling and track. He was the Boys and Girls Tennis Coach at Oshkosh North High school for 27 years, advancing an entry to the WIAA State Tennis Tournament every year but one. He graduated from University Wisconsin-Madison where he was a member of the Men's Tennis Team and received his masters degree in physical education from Northern Arizona University.
Tennis was a large part of Bill's life, both personally and professionally. Bill met his wife Sandy, while teaching at the Bachman-Laing tennis camp at Lawrence University in Appleton. He was a member of the USPTA, USRSA, past president and hall of fame inductee of the Wisconsin State High School Tennis Coaches Association. His summers were spent teaching Rec Department tennis lessons at Menominee Park. Helping to spread grassroots tennis, he founded Oshkosh Tennis Association Program at North High School. He pioneered the project to update the Oshkosh North High School Tennis Facility, which was recognized by the USTA at the 2009 U.S. Open as an Outstanding Facility. Bill was the proud father of the USTA Midwest Tennis Family of the Year. In 2010, Bill received the Hometown Hero Award in Madison. He was humbled by awards he received for working hard and following his passion.
The little free time Bill had was spent working on his collection of Corvairs, traveling with his wife and children, and finding ways to give back to the community. He was always available to lend a helping hand to someone in need. Bill never gave up on anyone or anything. His fighting spirit was evident to all who knew him.
Throughout the last two years of living with terminal illness, Bill defied all odds, living life to the fullest. He exemplified his teaching and coaching by demonstrating his passion for life, strength, hope, determination and perseverance. Bill was known for many sayings, but most notably, "Never give up." He will be sadly missed.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sandra; two sons, Matthew (Melanie) Van Lieshout, Santa Barbara, Calif., Peter Van Lieshout, Bradenton, Fla.; one daughter, Marjorie Van Lieshout, Shorewood,Wis.; his mother, Mary Jane Van Lieshout, Menasha; two brothers, Tom (Mary) Van Lieshout, Jim (Mary) Van Lieshout; two sisters, Joan (Jack) Ewig, Barb (Rich) Rueth; sisters-in-law, Debora (Larry) Howe, Tamara Galioto, Andrea (John Evans) Galioto; one brother-in-law, Thomas (Ellen Biever) Galioto; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Joan Galioto; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Van Lieshout.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at 10 a.m at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish-St. Peter Church with the Rev. James Jugenheimer officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011, at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside from 2 to 7:30 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 and will continue at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral.
