    MRS. ROBERT WERNER , Mrs. Robert Werner. 23. 427 E. South River street, died at 5:15 yesterday afternoon in Appleton after a week's illness. Complications following influenza caused her death. Born July 2, 1915, in Kimberly, she lived in Appleton the last eight years. She was formerly Joan Gerrits. Mrs. Werner was a member of the Sacred Heart church. Survivors are the husband; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Gerrits, Appleton; five sisters, Mrs. Levi Kern, Seymour; Mrs. Edward Polshinski, Oshkosh; Grace, Florence, and Dorothy, Appleton; two brothers, Gordon and Marvin, Appleton; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Peeters; the great grandmother, Mrs. Peter Verbeten, Little Chute. The funeral will be held at 8:30Friday morning at Brettschneider's Funeral home with services at 9 o'clock at St. Joseph's church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery chapel. The body will be at the funeral home from this evening to the hour of services. Prayers will be held there at 7:30 tonight and tomorrow night.

    Julia Gerrits Poleshinski Pankratz, 92, of Kimberly, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2011 at Sheelin Senior Living. Julia was born on July 7, 1918 to Jacob and Catherine (Peters) Gerrits in Little Chute. She loved to play cards and do crafts with the Ladies of Holy Name. Most of all Julia loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Julia was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.

    The funeral Liturgy for Julia will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH (600 E. Kimberly Ave. Kimberly) with Fr. David Beaudry officiating at 5:00 PM. Interment will be in the Holy Name Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 PM until the time of the Service at the Church. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name. The family would like to thank Theda Care at home Hospice and the staff at Sheelin House.

    Kimberly, Wisconsin - Grace G. Vander Heiden, age 97, of Kimberly passed away on August 15, 2018 at Parkside Senior Living in Neenah. Grace was born on September 02, 1920 to Jacob and Catherine (Peeters) Gerrits in Kaukauna and grew up on a farm in Black Creek before moving to Appleton. She married John "Jack" Vander Heiden on May 25, 1940 and lived in Kimberly on Joseph St. for 60 years.
    Grace is survived by a brother Gordy Gerrits, Appleton, a Sister in law Mary Gerrits, Kimberly and three children, Kay (Ed) Hudak, Neenah, Gail Sprangers, Park Falls and Gary (Gina) Vander Heiden, Grand Rapids, MI. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren: Scott (Kristy) Vander Heiden, Darboy, Vicki (Pete) Zipperer, Kaukauna, Russell (Danette) Wilz, New Holstein, Aaron (Kayshia) Wilz, Menasha, Nicholas (Kelsey Walasek) Sprangers, Park Falls, Eric (Jennifer) Hudak, Sheboygan, Rebecca (Kevin) Beringer, Fox Crossing, Andrew (Jessica) Hudak, Suamico, Luke Vander Heiden, Chicago IL, Lara (David) Carling, Evanston, IL, and Lane Vander Heiden, Grand Rapids, MI along with 20 great grandchildren.

    Dorothy Josephine Kruckeberg, age 85, of Appleton, passed away Tuesday evening, September 1, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center. Dorothy was born on July 14, 1924, to the late Jacob "Jake" and Catherine (Peeters) Gerrits. She was a graduate from Appleton High School, class of 1941.
    On June 28, 1947, Dorothy was united in marriage to Donald J. Kruckeberg Sr. in Appleton. They spent 48 wonderful years together until Donald preceded her in death on December 5, 1995.
    In earlier years she enjoyed golfing and bowling and was a member of many leagues around the Valley. In her later years, she was an avid sheepshead and canasta player. She loved watching Packers games, gardening, and tending to her flowers. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved gathering the family and celebrating holidays and birthdays.
    Dorothy was employed for many years at Marshall Fields (formally Gimbel's), until her retirement. She volunteered the last 13 years at Appleton Medical Center in both the gift shop and family surgical. For several years, she and her friend Shirley volunteered for Meals on Wheels in the Fox Valley Area. She was a charter member of St. Thomas Moore Parish since 1963.
    Dorothy is survived by her two sons: Don (Cheryl) Kruckeberg Jr., of New London, and Chuck (Mary) Kruckeberg, of Little Chute; her daughter: Robin (BJ) Kruckeberg, of Neenah; four grandsons: Paul (Kim) Kruckeberg, Mark (Lena) Kruckeberg, Rob (Ann) Arnold, and Ryan Kruckeberg; seven great-grandchildren: Madelyn, Carter, and Dane Kruckeberg, Noah and Grace Kruckeberg, Austin and Dylan Arnold; two brothers: Gordon and Marv (Mary) Gerrits; two sisters: Julia Pankratz and Grace Vander Heiden; a sister-in-law: Sis Kruckeberg, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    In addition to her husband, Donald Sr., Dorothy is preceded in death by four sisters: Bernice Kern, Joan Werner, Evelyn Gerrits, and Florence Horn; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
    A Funeral Liturgy for Dorothy will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2009, at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 N. McDonald Street, Appleton. Fr. Gerald Falk will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME on Friday, September 4, 2009, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again directly at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dorothy's name.
    Dorothy's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and caregivers in ICU at Appleton Medical Center for all their wonderful care and support. The family would especially like to thank Fr. Falk for all the compassion and prayers he shared with our mother.

    Marvin John Gerrits, 87, of Kimberly, died peacefully at home surrounded by family, Saturday November 25, 2017. He was born in Black Creek on Monday April 7, 1930 son of the late Jacob and Catherine (Peeters) Gerrits. Marvin married Mary Kolosso on May 10, 1985.
    Marvin was very active in many areas. In his younger years, Marvin coached basketball at the Appleton YMCA and bred and raised AKC registered Beagles. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, softball and hunting. Marvin also raced pigeons. He was an avid Bucks, Brewer and Viking fan. His greatest enjoyment came from time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
    Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Mary; his five children: Terry (Marlene) Gerrits, Beloit, Paula (Steve) Weyers, Seymour, Colleen (Richard) Poquette, DePere, Jolene (Mark) Waldburger, Menasha, and Mark (Ann) Gerrits, Black Creek; five step-children: Vicky (Pat) Harder, Hartland, Karen (Tom) Kokjohn, Kimberly, Valerie (Terry) Oscavich, Allentown, PA, Theron Grissman, Milwaukee and Kevin (Kelly) Grissman, Neenah; 10 grandchildren: Craig (Andrea) De Cleene; Bryan Nagorny, Brooke (Kenny) VanDeHei, Rick Poquette, Sarah Poquette (Phoenix Daniels), Timothy Waldburger, Derek Waldburger, Josie Dake, Kylie Dake, and Max Dake; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother Gordon Gerrits, Appleton; and one sister, Grace VanderHeiden, Kimberly. Visitation will be held at the church Wednesday morning beginning at 9:30 until 10:45 AM, with Mass to follow at 11:00 AM.

    Vander Heiden, Jam es L. "Jim"James L. Vander Heiden "Jim," age 63, was called home to Jesus on Monda y, September 11, 2006. Jim was born on March 3, 1943, in Appleton to Jo hn A. and Grace G. (Gerrits) Vander Heiden. He was formerly employed at Kr amer-Ridge Auto Supply for 13 years, and recently employed at Presto Produ cts for 31 years retiring on December 1, 2005.Jim is survived by his mother, Grace Vander Heiden, Kimberly; his wife, Sh irley, a son, Scott (Kristy) Vander Heiden, Darboy and their children, Jos hua and Abigail; a daughter, Vicki (Peter) Zipperer, Kaukauna and their ch ildren, Carsen and Claire and Vicki and Scott's mother, Gwynne Saue r. He is also survived by a step-son, Jordan (Kelly) Yingling, Appleton; t wo sisters, Kay (Ed) Hudak, Neenah; Gail (Earl) Sprangers, Park Falls; a b rother, Gary (Gina) Vander Heiden, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jim is furth er survived by Shirley's family including her mother, Marion Oudenhoven, K imberly; a sister-in-law, Mary Oudenhoven, Little Chute; a brother, Dua ne (Betsy) Oudenhoven, Illinois; Bruce (Malynda) Oudenhoven, Little Chut e; Keith (Pam) Oudenhoven, Darboy.He was preceded in death by his father, John, his grandparents, and Shirle y's father, Jerome and her brother, Leon.Jim enjoyed spending time at the cottage, and always had a project goin g. He enjoyed spending time with the grandkids and was proud of his gard en and his families accomplishments.The Funeral Mass for Jim will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2 006, at St. Bernadette Catholic Church 2331 E. Lourdes Drive, Appleton wi th Fr. Don Zuleger officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday fr om 4 to 8 p.m. at the Wichmann Funeral Home Tri County Chapel with a pray er service at 7:30. There will also be visitation at the church on Saturd ay from 9 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Holy Angels C emetery in Darboy following the Funeral Mass.
