    Joseph J. Van Den Boogart, Neenah, age 94, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Vallhaven Care Center. He was born November 2, 1911, in Little Chute, son of the late Frank and Minnie (Van Handel) Van Den Boogart. Joseph married Katherine Blahnik on September 3, 1935, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. She preceded him in death on August 1, 2003. Joseph worked at Kimberly-Clark for 30 years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards and dancing.Survivors include five children: Dorothy (Joseph) Bartman, Neenah, James Van Den Boogart, Appleton, Raymond Van Den Boogart, Thomas (Nancy) Van D en Boogart, Kaukauna, Linda (David) Dilts, Des Moines, IA; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and numerous great-great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister, a grandson, Tony Bartman; and two daughters-in-law: Susan Van Den Boogart and Helen Van Den Boogart.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2006, at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home with Deacon Jerry Cross officiating. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Little Chute. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of services. A memorial is being established in his name.

    Vanden Boogart, Lawrence J.Lawrence J. Vanden Boogart, "Larry", of Oshkosh, age 91, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2005. Larry was born September 5, 1913 in Little Chute and married Lucille Welch in 1938. They were proud parents of four daughters and two sons. They lived in Little Chute until Lucille passed away in 1951. Larry never remarried, he had a loving relationship with Evie, his companion and dear friend for thirty years. Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding his "3 wheel bicycle" which he called his "Cadillac".He is survived by his children: Carol Nelson (Richard), David Vanden Boogart, Barbara Zielinski (Andrew), Judy Faubel, Alice VanHorn (Allan) and David Thurner (Deborah). Also several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Larry was a jovial and fun "Loving guy" and will be missed by family and friends. His family wishes to give a "Heartfelt Thank you" to the staff at Parkview and Jim Decker who treated Larry with respect and love and shared a " special bond" with him, always patient and kind.The family feels Larry has gone on to bigger and better things to rekind le his love with his wife Lucille, waiting for him with open arms and a smile as beautiful as the first day they met and fell in love.     Dorothy Mae "Dottie" Bartman of Neenah, age 72, passed away Monday, November 16, 2009, at Theda Clark Medical Center due to rupture of an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Born March 16, 1937, she was daughter of Joseph and Katherine (Blahnik) Van Den Boogart. Dottie married Joseph Bartman on April 27, 1957. Together they had five children, with family being the most important focus of Dottie's life. She excelled in the toughest job on Earth: being a mother. She was supportive in all of her families' endeavors; careful to "not tell them what to do," she instead helped them to learn to think for themselves.
    She was a great homemaker who enjoyed cooking for her family and always maintained a well stocked refrigerator/pantry to ensure all were nurtured and well fed during their frequent visits. She was lauded for her annual holiday creation of a family favorite: pfefferneuse (peppernut) cookies; and don't forget her special yummy potato salad. She also doted on and was amused by all of the furry creatures her children and grand-children brought along when visiting. Dottie also delighted in gardening and watching things grow, sewing, dancing and figuring out the plots of murder mysteries. She closely followed political activities at all levels of government and was both intrigued and dumbfounded by our representatives' interactions and the impact their (in)decisions and actions have on society and its future. She often wondered "why can't we all be kind and just get along with each other." The harshness of this world often troubled her sensitive soul.
    Dottie is survived by her husband, Joe; daughter, Vickie; three sons: Steven (partner, Diane Wene), Gary and Nicholas; grandchildren: Stephanie, Daniel (partner, Stephanie Heegeman), Tiffany Griffin, Amanda, Jacob, Matthew and Emily; great-grandchildren: Trista, Kaylee and Jada. Dottie is also survived by her siblings: brothers: Jim, Ray and Tom (Nancy) Van Den Boogart and sister, Linda (David) Dilts.
    She was preceded in death by her youngest son, Tony (1995), her parents in 2003 and 2004, and two sisters-in-law: Sue and Helen.

    David J. Thurner, Menasha, age 61, died unexpectedly Sunday August 19, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born April 15, 1951 to the late Lawrence and Lucille Vanden Boogart. David was then adopted by Nicholas and Gladys (Romenesko) Thurner. He attended Oshkosh School for the Deaf and Kaukauna High School, graduating in 1970. Through his attendance at Friday night dances at the V.F.W, David was later reunited with his birth family. David married Deborah Graves on April 16, 1988. He loved the holidays and enjoyed decorating for them. He also enjoyed parties and weddings and loved to polka. David is survived by his wife of 24 years, Deborah; sisters: Lila Thurner, Carol (Richard) Nelson, Barbara (Andy) Zielinski, Judith Saubel and Alice (John) Gerhardt; step-brother Orile (Christine) Milton; step-sister Dorothy (Harry) Van Lith; father and mother-in-law Donald and Rebecca Graves; and brothers and sisters-in-law: Sandra (Fred) Stecker and Michael (Sandra) Graves. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his birth parents: Lawrence and Lucille Vanden Boogart; adoptive parents: Nicholas and Gladys Thurner; step-mother: Harriet Thurner; brother: David Vanden Boogart; and brother-in-law: Timothy Graves. Visitation will be held Thursday August 23, 2012 at Christian Life Center (670 N. Green Bay Road Neenah) beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of funeral at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Phil Bridges officiating. A memorial is being established. David was a kind and giving man. His final gift was through the act of eye and tissue donation.
