Berna rd Boyle was born in Kerry county, but in 1797--it seems that the Briti sh burnt Catholic churches, records, and parishioners as part of their pol icy, so there isn't much. I'll write to Kris Matties as you suggeste d, to inquire. Bernard Boyle married to Mary McCann in the US. Mary McCa nn was born in New Jersey in 1825. Their first child was born in Columbia na County, Ohio. Being very Catholic, I would assume there would be reco rds of baptisms, marriage, etc. And perhaps some reference to his root s, but I've been told the Irish roots can be very, very difficult to disco ver. This past week www.genlias.nl has added a bunch of info for Berlic um to their website. In addition, www.brabantarchieven.nl was suggest ed by a Dutch contact, and it has been very helpful in the pre 1811 perio d. It suggests:Joannes Vandenberg (your generation 1) was born 28 Jan 17 58 to Petri Joannis van den Bergh and Anna Philippi van Uden (b. 8/22/172 4) with a marriage date of June 13, 1790. Anna seems to be the daught er of Philippus Antoni van Uden and Anna Maria van Gerven, although the re is a record of Philippus marrying a Christina Rutte van Lokven 4 yea rs earlier--perhaps the first wife died??Arnolda van den Boom was born M ay 08, 1759 to Petri A. den Boom and Elizabetha Leonardi Lee or Leeje. Th ey were married Oct 17, 1751.

Jay: The following stories are from my Dad, James Holschuh. "John Vandenberg (the one born 16 MAR 1860) started working in the paper mill but didn't like it. He preferred farming. He said, 'Tell the boys never to work in the papermill.' He had $10 in his pocket when he married and no debt.

Biography:
JOHN VANDENBERG. The farming interests of Outagamie county are in the hands of efficient, capable men who have given to their labor that application of scientific effort that is bound to bring the best results. Years of observance of the best methods have brought the occupation of farming up to the standard of one of the sciences, and the constant improving of farming machinery has done wonders in making the harvesting of large crops a certainty. John Vandenberg, one of the scientific farmers of Grand Chute township, was born March 16, 1860, in Little Chute township, Outagamie county, Wisconsin, a son of John and Mary (Vandenberg) Vandenberg. The parents of Mr. Vandenberg were both born in Holland, in which country they were married, and came to America in 1858, locating in Little Chute, where Mr. Vandenberg worked on the canal for a few years and then bought a little farm in what is called Brookstown, which he cultivated until his death in 1903, his widow surviving him but a few years. They were the parents of six children: Peter, a merchant of Marinette; John; Mary, the wife of Henry Van Gompel, a farmer of Little Chute; Anton, a farmer of Brookstown; Henry, a farmer of Buchanan township; and George, a motorman on the interurban line, Little Chute. John Vandenberg secured his education in the schools of his native district, and resided at home until his marriage, although he worked out among the farmers of Little Chute township. He then secured employment in the Little Chute mill, where he continued to work until 1907, and in that year purchased the farm which he now operates, a tract of fifty-two acres which he devotes to general and dairy farming. He is a member of the Roman Catholic Church, and belongs to the old Catholic organization known as Saint Johns. In politics he is a Democrat, but he has been too busy to engage actively in any matters of a public nature .
On October 11, 1886, Mr. Vandenberg was married to Miss Katie Verhagen, born in Brookstown, in 1864, daughter of Henry and Hattie Van Hammond Verhagen, early settlers of Brookstown and natives of Holland. Mrs. Vandenberg was left an orphan at a tender age, and she was adopted by Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Vanroy, of Little Chute, with whom she made her home until her marriage. She had three brothers: John, a farmer of Grand Chute; Albert, an employe of the Kimberly paper mill; and Adrian, a farmer of Chili, Wisconsin. Mr. and Mrs. Vandenberg have had six children, namely: Mary, born June 8, 1888; Hattie, born November 11, 1890; Anna, born December 2, 1892; Henry, born February 12, 1895; Helen, born January 21, 1899; Tillie, born May 24, 1903 .

Biography:
ANTONE J. VANDENBERG, chairman of, the township board of Vandenbroek township, and one of the well known and successful agriculturists of this locality, is the owner of 104 acres of fine farming land. He is a son of John Vandenberg, who was born in Holland and came to the United States with his wife, Mary, landing at New York City, April 17, 1858. He came direct to Little Chute, Outagamie county, and secured employment on the Northwestern Railroad at twenty-five cents per day, work at that time being very scarce, and later was employed on the Government Canal at little better wages, but in a few years, by the strictest kind of economy and frugality he had saved enough to enable him to purchase thirty acres in Vandenbroek township, then known as Kaukauna township. He built a little log cabin on this property, but on account of lack of funds was compelled to work on the canal for a time longer. His first team was a pair of cows, with which he did his farming for the first few years, but he was a hard and consistent worker, and added to his equipment from time to time as his finances would allow, later adding ten acres to his home property and buying land in other parts of the township, and he eventually became known as one of the substantial men of his township, serving for a number of years as clerk of his school district. His wife died on the homestead farm, in 1889, aged sixtythree years, and Mr. Vandenberg passed away there in 1901, when seventy years of age. Antone J. Vandenberg was born January 24, 1864, on his father's farm, one of a family of six children of whom five were boys. He received his education in the district schools of the neighborhood, and as a lad lived with his father, although he worked out a good deal to help the family, and assisted in erecting many of the buildings in South Kaukauna. At the age of twenty-five years he struck out on his own account, and with his brother John purchased 200 acres of land in Freedom township, which they sold after improving it, and Antone purchased another farm in what is now Vandenbroek township. On October 14, 1890, he was married to Matilda Boyle, who was born in Freedom township, daughter of Barney Boyle, and after marriage purchased his present farm He has built a good, modern home and substantial barns and outbuildings on this property, and later added to it by purchase, now owning 104 acres, all of which he has brought up to a high state of cultivation. Mr. and Mrs. Vandenberg have had twelve children, one of whom, Raymond, died at the age of nine months, while the others are: Arthur, Rose, George, Roy, Mary, Edward, Helen, Ethel, Anne, Ida and Toney. The family is connected with the Catholic Church of Little Chute. Mr. Vandenberg was on the side board for five years, has been clerk of his school district for four years, and was elected in the spring of 1911 to the position of chairman of the township board. For nine years he served as a director in the Hail and Cyclone Insurance Company.

See Image Three Killed In Auto Crash Two-Car Collision Occurs on Slippery Road Near Suring* Post-Crescent News Service OCONTO - Three persons were killed and another is in critical condition after a two-car collision six miles north of Suring Monday noon. Dead are Cora Broberg, 66, and her husband, Robert, 75, former De Pere residents who lived at Pelican Lake, and Mrs. John Weyenberg. route 2. Clintonville. In "very critical" condition at Oconto Falls Hospital is John Weyenberg, 58, He sustained serious head injuries in the crash. The Weyenbergs were former Little Chute residents. The crash occurred on U.S.32, near Anderson Lake. Although there were no witnesses to the accident. Oconto County authorities have determined that both cars were traveling north and apparently the Broberg car went into a skid on the slippery pavement and was struck in the right side by the Weyenberg auto. A tractor from a nearby farm was required to pull the cars apart so the body of Mrs. Weyenberg could be removed. Broberg was a Green Bay resident and was a foreman for the Wisconsin Telephone Co. here from 1911 until 1944. After his retirement he and his wife made their home in St. Petersburg, Fla. and Pelican Lake. Funeral Services for Mrs. Broberg will be at 10am at the Schauer and Schumacher funeral home at 210 am Thursday.

John H. Van Den Berg, Appleton, Wis. Age 70, passed away at 10 a.m. Friday after a long illness. He was born April 3, 1892 in the Town of Buchanan. He was a member of the Holy Name Society, the Third Order of St. Francis of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Appleton.
Mr. Van Den Berg is survived by four daughter, Mrs. Walter A. Esther C. Karls, age 92, passed away peacefully at Appleton Medical Center on Thursday, January 6, 2011. She was born in Kaukauna on March 2, 1918; daughter of the late George and Anna (Vandenberg) VandenHeuvel. On January 4, 1940, she married Lawrence Bauer; he preceded her in death on September 11, 1956. On September 5, 1966, she married Benedict "Ben" Karls; he preceded her in death on December 15, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John; sisters Edna and Rosemary.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Doctors Danz, Culligan, and White of the Kaukauna Clinic, and the doctors and staff of Appleton Medical Center for their care and kindness. She was a long-time member of St. Thomas More. Thank you to Father Falk for his many years of kindness. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up for St. Thomas More parish.

Cyril "Bud" Vanden Heuvel, age 91, of Kaukauna, passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at Brewster Village surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 7, 1925 to the late George and Anna (Vandenberg) Vanden Heuvel. He married Mary Lou Nackers on August 17, 1950.
Bud and Mary Lou spent both of their lives working together on their dairy farm in Kaukauna. They enjoyed many wonderful vacations together traveling all over the United States and Canada. Bud loved carpentry and helping his kids whenever needed. He had a very deep faith and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Bud especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Bud is survived by his children: Mike (Mary Jo) Vanden Heuvel, Carol (Val) Uitenbroek, Cindy (Ken) Uitenbroek, Jane Vanden Heuvel, and Barb (Don) Micke; 20 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; brother Ray Vanden Heuvel; sisters: Theresa Van Camp, Myra Mueller, and Adelle Mortell; sisters-in-law: Sal Vanden Heuvel, Millie Nackers, and Eileen Nackers; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Mary Lou; Mary Lou's parents: William and Nellie Nackers; brothers: John (Ann) Vanden Heuvel and George Vanden Heuvel; sisters: Esther (Ben) Karls, Edna (Ferdie) Ulman, and Rosemary (Joe) Hackel; and in-laws: Florence Vanden Heuvel, Lawrence Bauer, Orville Mueller, Tom Mortell, Glen Van Camp, Florence Hackel, Joe (Iline) Nackers, Charlie Nackers, Albert "Boots" Nackers, and George Nackers.

George B. VandenHeuvel, age 82, of Appleton, died January 8, 2013. He was born July 22, 1930 in Little Chute, son of George and Anna (VandenBerg) VandenHeuvel.
George worked 28 years with Foremost as a truck driver and dispatcher. In addition, he also enjoyed several years of farming near Weyauwega. Upon retiring he moved to Florida where he lived out most of his final years taking walks on the warm sandy beaches, volunteering in nursing homes as a gifted piano player, and spending his leisure time enjoying nature, feeding birds, squirrels, and other animals.
George is survived by his children: Keith (Karen) VandenHeuvel, Shady Shores, Texas; Rebecca Fisher, Braselton, Georgia; Shirley (John) Hopkins, Appleton; Charles VandenHeuvel, Neenah; Sue (Greg) Obermeier, Appleton; 13 Grandchildren: Katie, Jessica, Sara, Caleb, Jocelyn, Rachael, Krista, Scott, Angela, Katrina, Courtney, Alicia, and Samuel; 2 great-grandchildren: Ethan and Jonathan, two brothers: Ray (Florence) VandenHeuvel, Appleton; Cyril (Bud) VanDenHeuvel Kaukauna; 3 sisters: Theresa Van Camp, Myra Mueller, and Adele Mortell, Appleton.

Pauline Catherine Joosten, 87, of Greenville, passed away peacefully with her sons by her side on Friday June 28, 2013 at Living Tree Estates, Greenville. She was born November 29, 1925 in Little Chute, daughter of the late Henry and Gertrude (Croell) Vandenberg. Pauline married Stanley Joosten on August 25, 1953 at St. John's Catholic Church, Little Chute. Stanley preceded her in death on May 18, 1989.
Pauline worked as a newlywed at Kimberly Clark. She later worked at Fox Valley Technical College until she retired in 1988. Pauline was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, reading and taking bus trips to the casino. Pauline and Stanley loved to travel around the country together. Her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her family and friends.

Giles M. Vandenberg, 87, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Appleton Medical Center. Giles was born on September 5, 1928 to Henry and Gertrude (Croell) Vandenberg. On May 21, 1949, he married Evelyn Van Lieshout. He worked at the Kimberly mill as a warehouse clerk until his retirement in May 1992. After retirement he drove cars for Bergstrom, Russ Darrow and for Ericksons. Giles was a very handy person and in his younger years, he fixed small appliances and worked on cars. He was very good at fixing everything he worked on. Giles enjoyed bowling and gardening. He was a member of St. Pius X.
He is survived by two children: Gary (LuAnn) Vandenberg of Darboy and Carla (Sidney) Nennig of New Holstein; six grandchildren: Amy Vandenberg, Justin (Lyndsey) Vandenberg, Krista (Jarred) Spindler, Michael Nennig, Dr. Laura Nennig, and Dr. Heather (fiancée Scott Burtard) Nennig; a great-granddaughter: Brielle Vandenberg; two sisters: Ione (Harvey) Minten of Florida and JoAnn Schroeder of Appleton; a brother-in-law: Ken (Rosemary) Van Lieshout of Amherst. Giles was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Evelyn, his siblings; Pauline (Stanley) Joosten, Ervin (Virginia) Vandenberg, June Vandenberg, and Kenny Vandenberg, and a brother-in-law, Norbert Schroeder.

James J. Holschuh, Sr. passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 22. Jim was born December 15, 1929 in Green Bay to Edward and Matilda "Tillie" (Vandenberg) Holzschuh.
Jim married RoseMary Maenner on June 23, 1962 in Eau Claire. She preceded him in death in 2014. She married Louis J. Weiland in 1945; he preceded her in death in May of 1980. Kenneth M. VanGompel, 88, De Pere, was welcomed into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father, Tuesday, August 28, 2012, in De Pere. He was born November 19, 1923 in Little Chute, WI, son of the late John and Delia (Verbeten) VanGompel. Ken graduated from Nicolet High School, De Pere in 1942, and served his country in the United States Army from 1943-1946, where he was a member of the 555th Engineer Heavy Pontoon Battalion, serving in a support role in France and Germany during WWII. He married Dorothy Triebel, February 7, 1948 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Green Bay. He worked at Milprint in De Pere for 39 years as a Machine Operator and Millwright. He was a member of the De Pere Men's Club, Knights of Columbus, and St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere, where he was an usher. Ken enjoyed golfing, playing cards, especially cribbage and sheepshead, and watching Packer and Brewer games.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy; three children: David (Connie) VanGompel, Solon, OH; Mary Lou Kramer, Bristol, CT; and Susan (Dan) Ascher, Sobieski; four grandchildren: Jeffrey (Tami) VanGompel, Jessica (Dan) Wellwood, Michael (Emily) W. Earl J. “Duke’’ Van Gompel, 76, De Pere, passed away as a result of hea rt complications on Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at a local hospital, with h is family at his side. The son of the late John and Delia (Ver Beten) V an Gompel was born April 28, 1926, in Little Chute. He married Theresa Jak abowski at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church, Green Bay on May 10, 19 52. Mr. Van Gompel served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and the U. S. Army. He enjoyed his trips to Las Vegas, hunting, fishing, golf, bowli ng and playing cards. He was a member of the Concerned Hearts Club. Duke o perated the West Side Bowling and Bar for six years. He had worked as a ma chine tender at Nicolet Paper Company for many years prior to his retireme nt in 1988.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Theresa; children, Lynn and Ken Ne lson, Dan Van Gompel, Cindee Luedtke and her special friend, Alan Kocoure k; and grandchildren, Chad and Stacey Nelson, Kari, Jennifer and Billy Lue dtke. Joan A. Newhouse, age 75, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 12, 2009, surrounded by family. She was born October 5, 1933, in Little Chute, daughter of the late John and Odelia (Verbeten) Van Gompel. Joan married Wesley "Bud" Newhouse on September 14, 1957, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna. They had eight children raising them in Appleton and Freedom. Joan worked at Anchor Foods for a short time, but her most beloved job was as mother and homemaker. Joan loved traveling and reading.
Joan is survived by her husband, Bud, and their eight children: Terri (Newhouse) Renkens, Jeff (Karen) Newhouse, Doug (Jenny) Newhouse, Sandy (Newhouse) Verbeten, Dan (Margi) Newhouse, Tim (Claudia) Newhouse, Karen Newhouse, and Julie Newhouse. Eleanor Vanden Heuvel Was called to her heavenly reward on Friday, November 17, 2000. She was bo rn on May 10, 1917, in Little Chute to Henry and Marie (Van Gompel) Verbet en. Eleanor was a graduate of both St. John's Grade School and High Schoo l. On May 30, 1941, she married her forever love, Bob Vanden Heuvel. In 19 47 they moved to Wrightstown, and together operated Van's Food Market unt il 1974. Eleanor was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Wrightstow n, where she participated in Christian Mothers. Mom was also a member of W rightstown's American Legion Auxiliary Post 436.Eleanor spent her entire life helping others, starting as an adolescent st aying with her grandmother, and later in life taking care of her mother Ma rie, then taking her father-in-law Joe into her and Bob's home. The coup le enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, and spending time with their won derful friends and family.Her children and grandchildren were the most precious people in her lif e. She is survived by her children, Karen and Tom Zirbel; Connie and Dav id Schwalenberg; Tom and Jeanne Vanden Heuvel; and grandchildren, David a nd Lynn Zirbel; Sarah Zirbel and fiance Bob Schisel, Anna, Leah and Mar ia Schwalenberg; Emily Vanden Heuvel and special friend Cory Promer; and L iz Vanden Heuvel. Gerald H. Verbeten, "Jerry" 239 South Matthew Street KimberlyAge 67, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, February 12, 200 1. Jerry was born in Little Chute on June 20, 1933, son of the late Hen ry and Marie (Van Gompel) Verbeten. As a young man, he served his count ry as a member of the U.S. Army and on September 4, 1954, married the form er Joanne DeBruin. Jerry was employed as a pipefitter at Kimberly-Clark Co rporation, first in Kimberly and later at the Neenah West facility, and w as a member of the Quarter-Century Club at Kimberly-Clark. Jerry was pro ud to have been a trumpet player in the Little Chute Community Band for fi fty-six years. His family is thankful to the band for allowing Jerry to co ntinue to participate as a drummer after suffering a stroke that prevent ed him from playing his trumpet. For many years, Jerry also played in h is own band, the Jerry V. Orchestra. He always enjoyed playing for even ts for family and friends. Jerry was also an avid model airplane builder a nd flier, and was a member of the Calumet Flyers Airplane Club. He also en joyed fishing, especially his many Canadian trips with his sons and sons-i n-law, playing cards with family and friends, and riding the CE Trail on h is motorized scooter. Jerry was a master fixer-upper, and was constantly r epairing things for anyone who asked his assistance. Many will remember h is selfless attitude when it came to helping others. When something was br oken, the grandkids would say, "Take it to Grandpa, he can fix it!" Prima ry in Jerry's life was his devotion to the Virgin Mary, who aided in the r ecovery from his stroke nine years ago. So great was his devotion, th at he made monthly trips to the Robinsonville with gifts of roses to the H oly Mother. Raymond E. Vandenberg, Little Chute, age 91, died Tuesday May 25, 2010, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin surrounded by his family. Raymond was born on June 8, 1918 in Stanley, Wisconsin. He served from 1941 through 1945 during WWII as Staff Sgt. U.S. Army. On April 16, 1947 he was united in marriage to Margaret VanderWyst. Raymond was a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 and the Kaukauna VFW Post 3319. He retired from Thilmany Paper Mill in 1980 after 35 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling and tinkering with small engines. Family and friends were a very important part of his life.

He w as born December 15, 1919, in Stanley, WI, a son of the late Arthur and Ca therine (Heiting) Vandenberg. He married the late Ruth Vanevenhoven on Sep tember 18, 1947, in Kaukauna. Elmer was in the Army Air Corp in World W ar II and finished his military service in the Army Reserves retiri ng as a Master Sergeant. After his retirement in 1982 from International P apers Thilmany Mill, he was involved in many activities.Elmer was a member of the Kaukauna Lions Club, Kaukauna Athletic Club (Per son of the Year in 1991), Thilmany Quarter Century Club, Kaukauna Alumni A ssociation, Quarterback Club, Wrightstown American Legion Post 436, Kaukau na VFW Post 3319, and the Rainbow Club. On June 21, 194 7, he married the former Marian "Mitt" Wodjenski at Holy Cross Church in K aukauna. Johnny was proud to have served in the United States Marine Cor ps for four years, and was a member of the Electric City Post 3319 of t he VFW. He was employed for twenty-five years by Klein's Dairy and later w orked as a security guard at Thilmany Pulp and Paper until his retiremen t. Johnny was an avid fisherman and enjoyed bowling, playing cribbage, a nd spending time at family cottages up north. John's children were the pri de of his life, and his grandchildren were the apples of his eye. He alwa ys treasured the times he spent as a spectator at their sporting events. Harold B. Vandenberg, Little Chute, age 92, died Thursday April 23, 2015 at the St. Paul Home. He was born in Stanley on September 25, 1922 to the late Arthur and Catherine (Hieting) Vandenberg. Harry served in the U.S. Navy as a deep sea diver for four years in the South Pacific. He was a member of the Jacob Coppus American Legion Post 258 Little Chute, the Urban Klister American Legion Post 436 Wrightstown and the Kaukauna V.F.W. Post 3319. Harry and his brother-in-law, Cunny Dercks, went on the first Old Glory Honor Flight out of Appleton.
On November 12, 1946, he married Marie Dercks at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on March 22, 2006 after 59 years of marriage. Together, they enjoyed 18 winters in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Harry retired from Thilmany Pulp and Paper where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club.

Marcy M. Vandenberg, Kaukauna, age 84, passed away tragically in an auto accident on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. She was born in Kaukauna on July 21, 1924, the daughter of the late Arthur and Katherine (Heiting) Vandenberg. Prior to her retirement in 1986, after 43 years at Thilmany's, Marcy was one of the many girls who came to the mill during the war years to take over the duties of the men who had been "drafted." Her work in the Wood Room and Recovery Plant was terminated with the end of the war and she was transferred to another job in the finishing department. Being a very athletic girl, Marcy enjoyed all occasions when she could enter into a game of field hockey, baseball, basketball, or bowling. Around our city she was well known for her swimming ability. We understand that dancing also had a high rating on her list of diversions. Marcy was also an avid deer hunter and will be remembered for her delicious pink fudge.
Marcy is survived by her brothers: Raymond (Marge) Vandenberg, Harold Vandenberg and Roy (Mary Ann) Vandenberg; and sister-in-law, Mitt Vandenberg. Marcy was very dear to her sister Irene's five children: Gail (Keith) Busse, Susie (Dennis) Coffey, Jeff (Sharon) School, Mark (Bev) School and Guy (special friend, Patty) School; and their children: Brad, Lee, Mike (Jenny) Busse; Starr (Tom) Hayden; Matt and Luke (Michelle) Coffey; Corinne (Ryan) Vanden Heuvel; Rachael (Neil) Roberts; Ryan School; David, Holly, Robin, Mitchell and Austin School; special cousin, Lucille Wildenberg; and Marcy's special nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

According to Marcy's wishes, her cremated remains will be buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. A mass will be said at St. Katharine Drexel, St. Mary's site, Kaukauna, on her "birthday" on July 21, 2009.

Cox, Patricia Louise Patricia Louise Cox was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on November 21, 1930 to Roy and Eva (Mocco) Vandenberg. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Thomas Cox, MD and seven children: Ellen (Greg) Cernjar, Patrick (Val), Dan (Pattie), Tim (Kathy), Mike, Dennis (Lisa) and Mary (Tom) Winslow. Grandchildren: Bill (Kristin) Milne, Kate (Kyle) Rackiewicz; Tim, Tom and Brigid Cox; Sam Cox; Casey, Morgan and Austin Cox; Rachael, Elizabeth and Lauren Cox; Alexandria and Julianna Cox; Kevin Winslow. Stepgrandchildren: Eric (Erin) Cernjar, Charlie and Sam Winslow; Stacy and Courtney Teague. Great-grandchildren: Max and Sam Milne, Sylvia and Hattie Rackiewicz, Caed Collins. Step-great-grandchildren: Gabby and Audrey Cernjar; Brothers-in-law, Bob Stemper and Bob DeBruin; Sisters-in-law Patricia Gonring and Priscilla Vandenberg, as well as, many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Patty was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mary Ann DeBruin and brother, Roy Vandenberg Patty attended St. Mary's High School in Neenah and then Marquette University. She met her husband, Thomas J. Cox, while they were both students at Marquette and they were married on August 18, 1951. In 1975 Patty completed her college education and graduated with a degree in Theology Education from Cardinal Stritch College. She became the Director of Religious Education at Holy Family Parish where she created and directed comprehensive and meaningful programs for the community of Holy Family. Patty loved her family. She dedicated her life to her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and supported them all with her gentle strength, wisdom and sense of humor. Throughout her life, she played a competitive game of golf. She had a strong sense of social justice and supported many charities with an annual contribution. She was a great cook and master baker. She was a advocate of the life long learning, a great reader and had all the answers when watching jeopardy or finishing a crossword puzzle. Patty loved MU basketball and the Packers. The Family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the staff of Sarah Chudnow for their genuine care and support. Family will greet friends on Sunday, October 12, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Feerick Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 13, at 2:00 PM at Lumen Christi Catholic Church, 2700 W. Mequon Road at the corner of Range Line Road. Interment at St. James Cemetery will be private for the family. Vanderberg, Roy Joseph AppletonAge 65, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. He was born April 6, 1937 in Appleton; son of Eva (Macco) and Roy Vandenberg. Roy served his country honorably as a ten-year veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He met Priscilla while at Clark AFB, Phillippine Islands. He served in Vietnam as Staff Sergeant in charge of communications. Roy retired in 1999 from Riverside Paper Co. after over 30 years of service. We also acknowledge his many years of camaraderie with the folks at the Cinderella Tavern in the Town of Menasha. He is best characterized by his family as a rugged individualist who always sacrificed for the betterment of his family. His legacy is having six children all of whom graduated from college. He enjoyed fishing, reading and watching the Green Bay Packers.He is survived by his devoted wife, Priscilla G. Roy J. Deering, formerly of White Lake, Wisconsin, died at 2:09 PM on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Brewster Village in Appleton. He died surrounded by his family, following a short, yet valiant fight against cancer. Roy was born May 23, 1926 in Kaukauna, son of the late Arnold and Helen (Vandenberg) Deering, and graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1943. He served in the United States Navy from 1944 until 1946, and was stationed at North Island Naval Base in San Diego. He was married to Joyce M. Beusch on June 9, 1951. Roy worked as a long-haul semi driver for Hennes Trucking, specializing in oversized loads. He retired in 1988. Roy and Joyce purchased their retirement dream home on Sawyer Lake in Langlade County in 1976, and spent thirty-four years in the Wisconsin northwoods.
He is survived by four children: Sue (Jo Randall) Deering of Portland, Oregon; Mary Green of Appleton; Joe Deering of McHenry, Illinois; and Jerry (Lori) Deering of Appleton; two sisters: Rosemary Hester of Battle Ground, Washington and Ann Bowers of Wrightstown; two brothers: John (Nancy) Deering of San Luis Obispo, California and Peter Deering of Green Valley, Arizona; five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife Joyce; his parents; and a brother Erle Deering.
A memorial service for Roy will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 19, 2015 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel, with Rev. April Kain-Breese officiating. Erle was born in Kaukauna on March 1 2, 1929, son of the late Arnold and Helen (Vandenberg) Deering. On Septemb er 13, 1955, he married the former Darlene Eiting in Hollandtown; she surv ives. During the Korean Conflict he proudly served as a member of the Unit ed States Army and was currently a member of the Urban Klister Post #4 36 of the American Legion. Erle enjoyed his dogs Penny and Bandit, and w as an avid reader and Green Bay Packer fan. Ann K. (Deering) Bowers, age 83, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2018 in Tucson, Arizona. Ann was born on October 17, 1934, the daughter of the late Arnold and Helen Deering. On October 17, 1955 Ann married the love of her life, Lawrence P. Bowers. They were married for 26 years before Larry preceded her in death on November 12, 1981. Ann and Larry together ran a dairy farm and built their family.
Ann enjoyed watching the Packers play football, preferably when they won. She enjoyed her time at the cottage, traveling, working in her flower garden, reading, spending time with friends and family. She was an active member of the Town of Kaukauna Historical Society.
Survivors include her children: Peter (Barb) Bowers and their children, Jamie (Michelle) Bowers, Jason (Amber) Bowers, Jeremy (Kelly) Bowers, and Jolene (David) Loritz; Arnold (Sheryl) Bowers and their children Michelle (Nathan) Gonnering, Christine Bowers, Lawrence Bowers, and Adam Bowers; Helen Schmude (special friend Mark Schlies) and her children Kevin Bowers and Anthony Bowers; Jean Hill and her children Kayla Hill and Tori Hill. She is also survived by brothers Peter Deering and John (Nancy) Deering; a sister Rosemary Hester; and ten great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Arnold and Helen Deering, and her husband Lawrence, Ann was preceded in death by her granddaughter: Holly Mae Bowers, her brothers: Roy (Joyce) Deering and Earl (Darlene) Deering, a brother-in-law Kirby Hester; her mother and father-in-law: Henry and Cecilia Bowers, her brothers and sisters-in-law: Lloyd Bowers, Norman Bowers, Nancy Bowers, Lorraine (Jim) Shillcox, Mildred (Roy) Lamers, Mary (Jim) Hermes, and Eleanor Bowers, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Henry J. Rooyakkers, 213 S. Sidney, Kimberly Age 82, died peacefully surrounded by his fami ly on Thursday, January 9, 1919, in Kimberly, son of the late George and C ecilia (Vandenberg) Rooyakkers. On November 15, 1941, he married the form er Joan Gmeiner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. Henry serv ed in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and received an honorab le discharge in 1945. He worked for Kimberly-Clark for 34 years and w as a member of their Quarter Century Club and the Management Club. Henry w as also a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer, enjo yed traveling and playing cards with his children and grandchildre n. Obituary:
Cora M Ulmen, of Kimberly, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at St. Paul Elder Hospice Services. Cora was born January 25, 1925, at home in Bear Creek, WI, daughter of the late George and Cecilia (Vandenberg) Rooyakkers. Cora was united in marriage with Carlton Ulmen at Holy Name Church in Kimberly on September 7, 1946. Carlton preceded Cora in death on October 22, 1996.
Cora was a charter member of St. Bernadette's Church in Appleton and a member of the Rosary Society. Cora waitressed, worked as "Rosie the Riveter", and was employed at the Wire Works prior to her marriage to Carlton. Cora enjoyed being a Cub Scout Den Mother, her TOPS weight club, her prayer circle, bicycling, walking, traveling with family, reading, playing cards, saying the rosary, and she especially enjoyed entertaining and visiting family and many friends.
Survivors include her children: Jeffrey (Paula) Ulmen, Darboy, David (Christine) Ulmen, New Berlin, George (Barbara) Ulmen, Combined Locks, Rosemarie Coleman, Green Bay, Kathy Zink (Appleton), Susan (Steven) Reuter, Menasha, Luann Ulmen, Appleton, and Chuck (Kelly) Ulmen, Neenah; 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Theresa Bongers and Ceil (Ray) McCormick; one brother, Leo Rooyakkers (special friend Kathy Bates); seven sisters-in-law: Lucille Endter, Alice Smith, Helen Rooyakkers, Ethyl (Maury) Brockman, Audrey Rooyakkers, Mary Kay Rooyakkers, and Mary Jo Rooyakkers; and her many friends, old and new.
She was preceded in death by seven brothers: Peter, Henry (Joann), Tony, Paul, George, Francis, and Everett (Marge); two sisters, Mary (Dick) VanLanen and Bernadette Rooyakkers; four brothers-in-law, Floyd Ulmen, Howard Endter, Ray Bongers, and Herbert "Red" Smith; and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Lawrence) Kugler and Evelyn Westgor; and one son-in-law, Keith Coleman.
The funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH (2331 E. Lourdes St.) at 1:30 PM with Fr. Donald Zuleger officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2012 from 12:00 PM until the time of the service at the church.
