JOHN CRASS
Funeral s e r v i c e s for John Crass, 77, well known hardware store owner at Newburg for many years, were held on Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Newburg, with the Rev. Gerhard Kionka officiating. Interment was made in the parish cemetery. Mr. Crass was born in the Town of Farmington on Jan. 20, 1884, and on July 18, 1907, he married Marie Ran at Newburg. They settled in the village in 1911, and for many years he operated the Crass Hardware Store there. Mr. and Mrs. Crass celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1957 at Fillmore. He died at St. Joseph's Hospital, West Bend, on April 15, after being afflicted with diabetes for many years. Survivors are his wife; a son, Harold of Newburg; three sisters, Mrs. Simon Albinger of Fillmore, Mrs. William Eisentraut of Random Lake, Mrs. George Jones of West Bend; two brothers, Arthur Crass of Fillmore and Leonard of West Bend. He was a member of the Tur- ner Society and the Turkey Club for many years, and for 40 years served as treasurer of the Newburg Fire Department.
