    Obituary:
    Edward Springstroh 79, 1022 N. Union St. died at 6 o'clock Saturday evening after a short illness. He was born Sept. 28, 876 in the Town of Freedom and lived there until moving to Appleton in 1927. Funeral Services will be held at 2 o'clock Wed. afternoon at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, Freedom,with burial in the parish cemetery.
    Survivors include two daughters: Mrs. Edward Kubitz and Mrs. Erwin Frahm both of Appleton, one son, Alfred, Town of Freedom, three brothers, Albert, Town of Freedom, Emil and Ernest, both of Appleton. Two sisters, Mrs Emma Puls, Shiocton, and Mrs Robert Plamann, Grand Chute. Eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

    Edward married Techlin, Mathilda Tilda Aft 1896.     Earl E. Springstroh, 79, Freedom, passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at home surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 7, 1929, to the late Alfred and Berdine (Brown) Springstroh. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Snell on Sept. 25, 1948, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Appleton. They shared 60 wonderful years together.
    Earl retired from SCA, formerly Wisconsin Tissue Mills, after 30 years of service. He worked 18 years as the caretaker of Freedom Community Lutheran Cemetery and was a member of the Fox Valley Horse Driving Association. He was a small-time farmer all his life and loved his horses and other animals. Earl was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church his entire life.
    Survivors include his daughter, Linda (John) Schuh, Navarino, and their family, John (Barb) Schuh, Joshua, Justin, Mackenzie, Tina (Jim) Moser, Allyssa, and Jacob; son, Gary, Neenah, and his family, Chad, Michael, Kelly (Todd) Schroeder, Tayler, Parker, Shawn (Aaron) Schmidt, Bret, Randy and family, and Lindsey and family; daughter, Jennie (Mike) Stoop, Appleton, and their family, Michelle (Jason) Zuleger, Matthew (Shayna Smith) Stoop, and Hunter; daughter, Jeanne (Elias) Aad, Texas, and their family, Salim, Natalya, and Wassem Aad; son, Thomas J.     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Hilda and Lester Snell; three sisters-in-law, Lorraine Vanden Bloomer, Doris Snell and Patsy (Terry) Howard; three brothers-in-law, Lester Snell, Stan Felzer, and Jerry Bowers.
    Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Freedom. Paster Tim Glende will be officiating with burial taking place in the Freedom Lutheran Community Cemetery.

    Elsie E. Simmons, age 72, of Appleton, passed away at her home on Sunday, May 22, 2016. Elsie was born on her late parent's dairy farm in Freedom on February 18, 1944. She married Merle L. Simmons on June 19, 1965, in Freedom. Elsie was a 1962 graduate of Freedom High School. It was Elsie's nature to help everyone. She regularly made donations at the Community Blood Center and was a long-time member of the Dorcas Society at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church. She enjoyed gardening, playing sheepshead, crocheting, snowmobiling, motorcycling, horseback riding, driving and joking with her family and friends.
    Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Merle; her four daughters, Lory (Mark) Steinberg; Cheri Blackwell; Brenda (Ed) Fisher; and Barbara Simmons; her six grandchildren, Josh (Jenny) Carriveau; Jason (Katrina) Blackwell, Jacob Fisher, Natalie Fisher, Lauren Keenan and Amber Keenan; her three great grandchildren, Anthony (fiancé Elizabeth) Carriveau, Ryan Carriveau, and Morgan Carriveau. Her twin great-great grandsons are expected in August. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Val Simmons-Schuler, Frances Mills, Audrey (Robert) Arlen, Phyllis Springstroh; her brother-in-law, Richard Meyer; and her truly treasured friend, Joyce Wichman. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Elsie was preceded in death by her brother, Earl Springstroh; her sister-in-law, Marie Meyer; and her brothers-in-law, George Simmons and Gary Mills.
    Funeral services for Elsie will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016, at ST. MATTHEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 129 S. Mason Street, Appleton, with Rev. Thomas Mielke officiating. Friends may call directly to the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Community Lutheran Cemetery, Freedom.     Lyle Kubitz, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 3, 2008. He was born March 23, 1932, to the late Edward and Meta Kubitz in Appleton. Lyle graduated from Appleton West High School in 1949 and began working at Appleton Papers until entering the United States Army in 1950. Following his honorable discharge in 1954 he resumed his job at Appleton Papers until his retirement in 1994. In 1955, he married Delores E. Drews, also from Appleton.
    Lyle belonged to the VFW in Appleton and was on the Board of Directors at the Valley Funeral Home and Cooperative Services since 1994. Lyle loved camping, fishing, bowling, golfing, playing Sheeps-head, and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Appleton.
    He is survived by his son, Dan (Cindy), Shakopee, Minnesota; his daughter, Cheryl (Eric), Appleton; and two grandchildren: Chris and Alex. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
    Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Delores; and his sister, Ethel.
    Funeral Services for Lyle will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, 2008, at the Valley Funeral Home with Pastor Ralph Waack officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. until the time of service. A private burial will take place at Community Lutheran Cemetery in Freedom.

    Victor Frahm, age 73, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly Monday, November 24, 2008, at Theda Clark Medical Center. He was born on March 4, 1935, son of the late Ervin & Esther (Springstroh) Frahm in Appleton. On August 28, 1954, Victor was united in marriage to Beverly Schroeder. He was employed by Service Bakery until its closing. He then worked for Overly's & Thermel Electron until his retirement on March 31, 1997. He was in Company "D" National Guards from 1953-1961. He enjoyed camping and fishing in St. Germain. He also enjoyed deer hunting, bowling and watching his grandchildren in sports activities from grade school through college. Victor was a much loved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
    He is survived by his wife Beverly; two children: Dianne (Glenn) Fieck and Mark (Pat) Frahm, both from Appleton; four grandchildren: Nathan (Kim) Fieck, Matthew Fieck, Amy Fieck and Emily Frahm; two great-grandchildren: Gaige and Logan Fieck; a brother, Vernon (Barb) Frahm; two sisters: Vera Ozment and Verdaine (John) Radermacher; sisters-in-law: Janice (Jerry) VanZeeland and Shari (Keith) Gonyea. Victor is further survived by many other nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his father-in-law Lawrence Schroeder and mother-in-law Marcella (Schroeder) Rubbert; a brother-in-law, Jay Ozment; sister-in-law, Marilyn Schroeder; a niece, Linda VanOfferen; and two nephews; Tim and James Edward Ozment.
    A funeral service for Victor will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2008, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church (323 North Morrison St., Appleton) with Pastor Ralph Waack officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, November 28, 2008, at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St., Appleton. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. He will be laid to rest at Community Lutheran Cemetery.
