    Alice passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, October 27, 2014. She was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on July 19, 1926, to Charles Goettlicher and Emma (Semrow) Durdell. Alice was a telephone operator for a short time at Wisconsin Bell and then finishing her career working for the George Banta Company. She married Werner Derfus on May 18, 1946.
    Alice is survived by her immediate family, three children: Terry (Susan) Derfus of Menasha, Craig Derfus of Menasha, and Patti (Don) Schmidt of La Crosse; five grandchildren: Dawn (Dan) Gaab of Appleton, Jason Derfus of Dallas, TX, Cori (Matt) Bartz of Neenah, Becca (Chad) Ennis of Madison, and Ben Schmidt of La Crosse; three great-grandchildren: Seamus and Reyna Bartz, Zachary Gaab, and Baby Ennis on the way.
    In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her sister, a nephew, her step-father, and a step-brother.
    Respecting Alice's wishes, a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be set up for St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church and Affinity Hospice.
    The family would like to express a special thank you to Affinity Hospice and the caregivers from Home Instead Senior Care.

    Krueger, Charles N. With his family at his side, Chuck was taken into the loving arms of his Savior on July 22, 2011. He was born in Appleton on September 27, 1942, son of the late Adolph and Edith (Goettlicher) Krueger. On October 18, 1942, he was baptized at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Churchin Appleton and was confirmed in the faith on March 25, 1956. He graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in 1960. On May 9, 1964, he was united in marriage to Leta Neumann at Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church. Chuck worked for Appleton Wire and Valleycast / Luvata. Due to his health, he retired in 1998 after thirty-six years of service. He loved spending quality time with his family and adored his grandchildren. Hunting, fishing, working outdoors, reading, and cooking were his passions.
    Chuck is survived by his wife, Leta Krueger, Greenville; two children, Scott Krueger, Appleton and his children, Ashley and Alex; and Kara (Greg) Wichman, Bonduel, and their children, Alicia, Cody, Collin, and Morgan; a sister, Bonnie (Ray) Kersten, Appleton; a brother-in-law, Gary (Christine) Neumann, New London; mother-in-law, Mildred Neumann, Greenville; aunt and Godmother, Alice Derfus, Neenah; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Chuck was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Kenneth Neumann.
    The Christian Funeral for Chuck will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at MOUNT OLIVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 930 E. Florida Avenue in Appleton with the Rev. Robert Raasch officiating. Entombment will follow in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
    The family would like to offer their sincere thanks to everyone who cared for and about them during these difficult days. They include the pastoral staff from Mount Olive, Nichol Frank from Primary Care Associates, Donna Rogers and everyone at AMC's Oncology Department, Paul Mintzlaff and everyone at Theda Care At Home, as well as the countless family and friends who offered their prayers, wishes, and support. We will never forget your kindness.

    Bonnie K. Kersten, age 69, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born on January 6, 1946 to Adolph and Edith (Goettlicher) Krueger. She was received into Christ's Kingdom of Grace through Holy Baptism on January 27, 1946. After being instructed in the truths of God's Word, she was confirmed on April 10, 1960. Bonnie attended St. Paul Lutheran School and graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran in 1964. She married Raymond Kersten on May 31, 1969 and they spent 46 years together. Bonnie was a lifelong member at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Appleton. She enjoyed working at the church's School Office for 25 years and the Childcare Center for 2 years.
    Bonnie loved to play the accordion and organ for friends and family. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and supporting the Lutheran Vanguard of Wisconsin Marching Band. Bonnie was an avid Packer fan and was proud to be able to attend the Ice Bowl. She was loved dearly by her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed.
    She is survived by her husband Ray Kersten, Appleton; daughter Janet (boyfriend Bob Tegge) Kersten, Appleton; brothers and sisters-in-law: Leta Krueger, Greenville; Charlotte (Adolph) Bloy, Kaukauna; Joan Jaeckels, Kaukauna; Marion Zwick, Montana; Clarence Bowers, Kaukauna; Betty Kersten, Appleton; Bob (Mary) Kersten, Mountain; and Mike (Carrie) Kersten, Florida; many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; brother Charles Krueger; mother and father-in-law Josephine and Albert Kersten; sister-in-law, Nancy Bowers; and brother-in-law Jim Jaeckels.
    The funeral service for Bonnie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday August 15, 2015 at ST. PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 N. Morrison Street, Appleton, with Rev. Kenneth L. Frey officiating. A time of visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. She will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park.
    Bonnie's family would like to thank Community Care and ThedaCare Hospice for all of their wonderful care.

    Terry M. Derfus, age 67, of Menasha, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2015, with his family by his side, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. On March 4, 1947, Terry Michael was born in Appleton to the late Werner and Alice (Goettlicher) Derfus. Terry was united in marriage to Susan M. Wiegand on May 18, 1968 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Menasha. As a member of the church, he volunteered his time as an alter server and communion distributor. Terry had worked for Menasha Utilities as a Meter Reader and retired after 37 years of employment. He enjoyed golfing, camping and playing cards with his friends. Terry was known as "Pa" to his grandson, Zachary, and he loved spending as much time with him as he could.
    Terry will be missed by his loving wife of 46 years, Sue; their children: Dawn (Dan) Gaab and their son, Zachary; and Jason Derfus; his brother, Craig Derfus; his sister, Patti (Don) Schmidt; nieces and nephew: Cori (Matt) Bartz and their children: Seamus and Reyna; Becca (Chad) Ennis and their daughter, Viola; and Ben Schmidt; sisters-in-law: Sandi (Jack) Hablewitz, Sharon (Jeff) Zielinski, and Sally (Ed) Ellerbusch.
    A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 516 De Pere Street in Menasha with Fr. Paul Paider officiating. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 9:00 am until the time of the Mass at the church. Inurnment will take place at St. John Cemetery in the Spring.
