    Obituary:
On March 1, 2010, Claude went to his eternal home. He died in the arms of his loving family, after a seventeen month illness. Claude was born on Christmas Day, 1930, son of the late Claude and Anna (Helein) Heinz of Appleton. He attended high school in Appleton, and on August 7, 1954, married the former Carol Pagel. Their fifty-five year marriage was blessed with two sons, Mike and Greg. Claude was employed for forty years by the Kimberly Clark Corporation where he was a member of the Quarter Century Club. He retired on January 1, 1990. In his younger years, he was an accomplished ice skater and received many awards. He also enjoyed roller skating. Over the years he was also involved in the WELS Boy Pioneer program, as well as ushering at church. Claude was a "master tinkerer", and his favorite hobby was working on older cars, fixing just about anything, and woodworking. He also enjoyed polka music. He was also an avid fan of the Packers and Badgers, rarely missing a game.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years: Carol Heinz of Appleton; two sons: Mike Heinz and Greg Heinz, both of Appleton; a brother: Robert (Marie) Heinz of Appleton; two sisters: Dee (Jerry) Captain of Appleton and Shirley (Ron) Dollevoet of Florida; a sister-in-law: Jan (Don) Laabs of Beaver Dam, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Claude was preceded in death by his parents and by Carol's parents Otto and Adeline Pagel. Claude will be greatly missed by his loving family.

Dad, we will miss you dearly, especially the way you spoke your mind. Thank you for dedicating your life to supporting Mom and us, and for fighting so hard to stay with us. We love you, and will never forget what you have taught us.
A special thanks to our mom for taking such amazing care of Dad, and to Uncle Rob for giving us 18 more years with him.

    Obituary:
Bender, Judy M. Combined Locks On Monday, December 8, 2003 at 8:30 p.m., Judy's spirit left her body to be made whole with God her Father in Heaven. So ended her life on earth, that began June 13, 1958, north of Appleton.
Judy graduated from Appleton High School West in 1976 and soon after married and had four wonderful children with Leroy Van Cuyk. While raising the children, she continued her education and went on to fulfill a life time dream of becoming a nurse. She graduated with honors from FVTC in 1992. Judy then spent 8 years working for Peabody Manor of Appleton. She started out as a floor nurse and ended her career as Acting Director of Nursing. After her "retirement," she continued to serve the community as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, establishing the parish nurse program in her church, and volunteering in area nursing homes.
She loved her church family of Christ the King. She especially enjoyed working with the youth, visiting the elderly, and the Tuesday a.m. Bible Study Group. She graduated in May, 2002, as a lay minister for the Evangelical Church of America. She felt called to serve others and spread God's Word. The Lord was her strength and her song.
Judy is survived by her parents, Richard Bender, Shawano; Shirley (Hy) Gehrt, Oshkosh; her children, Bill (Mandi Erickson) Van Cuyk, Little Chute; Joe, Tom, and Anna Van Cuyk, at home; her beautiful granddaughters, Stasia and Nikayla Van Cuyk, Little Chute; her children's father, LeRoy Van Cuyk; sisters and brothers, Pat (Don) Coonen, Appleton; Chuck (Nancy) Bender, Kaukauna; Donna (Dan) Dorn, Hortonville; JoAnn Bender, Freedom; Jeanne (Alan) Spoehr, Seymour; Larry (Dianne) Bender, Neenah; and stepsister, Stephanie (Dan) Immel, Appleton. She is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by an infant son, Benjamin Lee Van Cuyk, to whom she is now joyfully reunited.
The service celebrating her life will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Friday, December 12, 2003 at CHRIST THE KING, 60l South Washington Street, Combined Locks, with the Rev. Steve Nelson, Rev. Bill Schroeder and Rev. Leslie Radius officiating. Friends may call at the church on Thursday, December 11, from 4-8 p.m, and again at the church on Friday from 11 until 12:45 p.m. The interment will be held in Union Cemetery, Combined Locks, at a later date.
As an expression of sympathy, a memorial fund for the children has been established. As Judy coordinated her funeral service and obituary, it was most important to her to extend the following acknowledgements: "A sincere thank you from my family and me to Dr. Guenther, Jan, and the entire staff of Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, along with the oncology nurses at the Radiation Center, and Appleton Medical Center 3rd floor Oncology Nurses. Also a sincere thank you to Dr. Green for steering me onto the "right path," and to Dr. Messer, for being my "journey guide" and friend.
"Rejoice and be glad for me. I am pain free, at peace and have been made whole. I am home."
