    Obituary:
Wayne D. Arnold, N1683 North Road, Greenville
Age 60, died Monday morning, December 10, 2001, following a short illness. He was born January 31, 1941, to Emmett F. and Marie B. (McHugh) Arnold in Appleton, where he was a resident all of his life. Wayne graduated from Appleton High School in 1959 and served with the U. S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He had been employed by Gilbert Paper for 39 years, retiring in 1996. Wayne was a member of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church.
Twelve years ago God, and a very generous young man gave Wayne another chance at life, by donating his heart. We want both of them to know that Wayne used those years to enjoy his wife, Sue, his children and his grandchildren, and gave of himself to them in whatever ways he could. He knew that this second chance at life was a precious gift, and he used this time in loving his family, taking care of his grandchildren, proudly taking care of his home, and getting away to his camper to share fun times with his family and friends.
Wayne suffered greatly this last month with cancer and escalating medical problems, but through it all his family was there for him faithfully, as they were 12 years ago. When the Lord took him up in His Loving Arms, it hurt greatly to lose him, but we knew that only God could end his suffering and give him peace.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Sue M. (Hietpas) Arnold; four children and their spouses, David and Laura Arnold, Hortonville; Gary and Joy Arnold, Appleton; Connie and Joel Wilz, New London; Dawn and Dale Dorschner, Neenah; 11 grandchildren, Mason, Malory, Mackenzie and Marek Arnold, William and Jeffrey Berndt, Dylan Arnold, Brooke Krieglstein, Cody Wilz, Joshua and Zachary Dorschner; his mother, Marie B. (McHugh) Arnold, Appleton; a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Patti Arnold, Winneconne; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Eunice and Larry Bell, Appleton; Shirley Ann and Don Schiessl, Appleton; his mother-in-law, Myrtle J. Hietpas, Little Chute; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Emmett F. Arnold and his father-in-law, Austin A. Hietpas.
Funeral services for Wayne will be held at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Tri County Chapel, South Oneida Street, at 6:00 pm Thursday, December 13. 2001, with Reverend David Pagel officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3:00 pm Thursday, until the time of the service. A memorial fund is being established.
The family wants to thank everyone who supported them in any way during Wayne's illness and passing, the caring people at St. Elizabeth Hospital, especially Sr. Goretti, Pastor David Pagel and once again, the young man who gave our family 12 more years of love. You all have been a blessing to us for which we are eternally grateful.
