    Obituary:
THE LAST ROLL CALL - Death Of Civil War Veteran
The death of Patrick Finnegan which occurred at his home on Main Street early Friday morning, July 16th, a brief announcement of which was made in The Times of last week, removes from the community one of its most popular citizens and a loyal member of the Grand Army Post. Mr. Finnegan had attained the ripe old age of eighty-seven years and four months and although his death was not unexpected it was nevertheless a sad blow to his family, comrades and friends, for few men were held in higher esteem by old and young that this good old man.
Up to a year ago he enjoyed good health but since that time it was noticeable to his relatives and friends that he was failing and during the past four months he was obliged to remain entirely at his home. During his last illness he sustained that cheerful, satisfied disposition, which had been one of his characteristics through life, and which won him many friends. He always looked on the bright side of things, making all who came in contact with him feel that this life was full of sunshine if one but sought it. His funeral took place on Monday forenoon at ten o'clock. The remains were escorted from the home to St. Augustine's church by the members of the Jos. B. Reynolds GAR Post, where services were conducted by Rev. Fr. Geo. A. Clifford. He was buried in St. Augustine's cemetery in the family lot with military honors. The funeral was largely attended, relatives, comrades and friends assembled in large numbers to pay a last tribute to their departed friend.
Patrick Finnegan was born March 17, 1822, in Carrick, County Monaghan, Ireland. He remained in his native home and followed his occupation, that of farming. In 1845 he was married to Julia Ann Mee and in 1846 they came to America and first settled in Canada where they resided until 1856 when they came to Wisconsin and located in the woods in the town of Eaton, Manitowoc County, where like his fellow pioneers he worked hard to clear the forest and build a home. He was exceedingly successful and his home was the meeting place for friends and neighbors, it being one of the pleasures of his life to entertain friends. The early settlers of this and Manitowoc counties have none but pleasant recollections of the many hours spent at his home. In 1880 he disposed of his property in Eaton and purchased a farm in North Chilton town upon which he lived until 1892 when he moved to this city and purchased the home in which he lived until death came. In 1898 his wife died and since that time he had lived most of the time with his daughter, Mrs. Edw. Donahue.
During the civil war he enlisted in Company K, of the 27th regiment and his comrades say that he was an excellent soldier, fearless and brave. He was wounded while in line of duty, but never applied for a pension until induced to do so by his friends long after the war had closed. He was generous to a fault and cared little for money except to use it in doing good for others. He took more pleasure in doing a kindness or favor for a friend that having one done for himself.
He was a devout member of the Catholic Church and his name could always be found foremost among those who donated to its support. Since coming to this city he was known to everyone and for some years his friends would meet annually at his home on his birthday, March 17th, to celebrate the event. In the passing away of Pat Finnegan out people feel that they have lost a good neighbor and true friend, one who will not soon be forgotten.
He is survived by three sons, Bernard of Eldorado, Wis., Wm. of Menominee, Mich., Thos. Of Hurley, Wis., three daughters, Mrs. Edw. Donahue of this city, Mrs. Kate Pankratz of Samson, Wis., Mrs. John Kehoe of Chicago, all of whom were in attendance at the funeral. He also leaves some thirty-five grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.

Patrick married McMee, Julia Ann 20 Apr 1845, Carrick, County Monahan, Ireland. Julia was born 11 Apr 1830, , County Monahan, Ireland; died 14 Mar 1898, Charlestown, Calumet, Wisconsin, USA. [Group Sheet]

June (Janssen) Aerts, 88, of Green Bay, was reunited with her "Darling" Harvey on Saturday January 18, 2014. She was born June 1, 1925 in Gresham, WI to the late Edward and "Kitty" (Carroll) Janssen.
June was a graduate of Shawano High School, class of 1943. It was at a Shawano High School vs. De Pere High School football game that she met the love of her life Harvey Aerts. After graduating from St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1946, June married Harvey E. Aerts on July 1, 1947.
June worked as a private duty registered nurse from 1948 to 1966. and later as an industrial nurse at Milprint Inc. from 1966 to 1969. June finished her career with the City of Green Bay Health Department as a school nurse from 1969 to 1990.
After retirement, she did volunteer work with St. Mary's Mobile Meals, Unity Hospice, St. Vincent DePaul, the Brown County Health Department, and the Bellin Hospital Humor Cart. She was a very dedicated member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish and served as a Eucharistic minister, Befriender, and Minister of Praise.
In her later years, June and Harvey attended Clown School and volunteered at church picnics and nursing homes as "Toodles" and "Scooter" the clowns. June loved planning and hosting parties for any occasion. "Dressing up" in the many costumes she created was always a hit. Sometimes she was a clown, Easter Bunny, Nun or even Santa. The Renew group as well as the barbershoppers "Mad Hatters" were all very special to her. June loved to travel and in her words the best trip was to Ireland in 1992 with Harvey. She also enjoyed the yearly trip to see the beloved Carley family in St. Petersburg Beach, Florida. Special times with the grandchildren were held at the cottage on Maiden Lake as June directed the "Choo-Choo" train down to the lake.
June is survived by her children and their spouses; Margie and David Sorenson, Green Bay; Jacque and James Coons, New Berlin; Jeff and Carol Aerts, Baraboo; Bill and Chris Aerts, St. Paul, MN; her grandchildren, Shane Harder, Adam and Corrine Harder, Erin and Greg Dorn, Lindsay and Andy Glawe, Benjamin Aerts, Grace and Henry Aerts; her great-grandchildren, Trenton, Noah, Adelyn, Jaxon; her sister, Carroll Janssen, Louisiana; and many other relatives and friends.
