Obituary:
Lorreen F. Egan from Kaukauna passed away Monday November 25, 2013 at the age of 90. Lorreen was born June 16, 1923 to Walter and Dorothy (Hohn) Otto. She cherished any time spent with family and friends and enjoyed reminiscing about life on the Otto family farm in Gresham. On September 14, 1946, she married Charles Egan and he preceded her in death in 1988. Lorreen graduated from Outagamie County Teacher's College and the University Of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She taught her entire adult life, starting at rural one room schools, and spent 36 years teaching in the Kimberly School System at Ryan, Janssen, and Westside until she retired in1991. She will be remembered for bringing out the best in her family and students in a gentle way, with much love and a touch of humor. She loved to play piano for her schools and at home and shared many laughs with her lifelong friends in her card club.
In addition to her husband Charles, in-laws George and Bess Egan, and parents, Lorreen was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Otto Jr.; brother-in-law: George Egan Jr.; sister-in-law: Marion Egan; and dear friend and OCTC classmate, Floyd Doering.
Lorreen is survived by her children: Marsha (Don)Antczak, Milwaukee; Chuck (Sarah) Egan, Kaukauna; and Sharon McCabe, Kaukauna; grandchildren: Dawn (Mike) Gonzales, Jason Antczak, Colin and Margaret Egan, Lorreen, Connor, Kenlan and Kalen McCabe; great grandchildren: Marie and Ryan Turner and Paige Huckstep; brother: Floyd (Marian) Otto; and brothers-in-law: Bill (Arlene) Egan and Jim (Arlene) Egan. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, December 2, 2013 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) from 4:30 p.m. until time of the Funeral at 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Bruce Corey officiating.
