Herbert Romenesko of Weaver succumbs, Herbert Romenesko, 71, Weaver blacksmith, died at his home unexpectedly Thursday of a heart condition. He had not been ill. Mr. Romenesko was born at Potsdam, July 6th, 1889. He married Anna Brutsch at Brownsville December 9th, 1919, and the couple resided in Weaver. He worked on farms in the area and also for the Milwaukee Railroad until 1936 when he took over at the Weaver blacksmith shop upon the death of his father. Mr. Romenesko was town clerk of Minneiska Township for many years. He drove school buses in this area for over 20 years. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen and the Royal Neighbors of America. His wife died in 1968. Surviving are a son, Earl of Cottage Grove; three daughters, Mrs. Aloysius (Elsie) Heaser of Weaver, Mrs. Ralph (Alice) Fairchild of South St. Paul and Mrs. Edwin (Helen) Lang of Winona; 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. One great grandchild and one grandchild also preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Buckman funeral home in Wabasha with Reverend Luther Pennington of Weaver United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Minneiska. Friends May call at the funeral home Saturday afternoon and evening and until the time of services Sunday.

Monday funeral for Elsie C. Heaser, A Mass of Christian burial for Elsie C. Heaser, will be 11: 00 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Minnieska, with Rev. Edwa rd McGrath officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr s. Heaser, 74, of Weaver, died Thursday, November 9th, 1995, at Lewiston V illa in Lewiston. Elsie Romenesko was born May 11th, 1921, in Weave r. On October 20th, 1938 she married Hubert Merchlewitz of Stockton at S t. Mary's Church in Minnieska. He died December 24th, 1951. On Februa ry 18th, 1954, she married Aloysius Heaser at St. Mary's Church in Minnies ka. He died August 18th, 1981. Mrs. Heaser was a member of the Royal Nei ghbors of America, St. Ann Society at St. Mary's Catholic Church and serv ed in all of the offices of the society. In addition, she held an offi ce on the Weaver school board and was clerk for the township of Minniesk a, completing the term held by her father after his death. She was then e lected to that post. She is survived by four sons, David Merchlewitz of C ottage Grove, Harold Merchlewitz of Isante, Minnesota, Lavern Heaser of In ver Grove and Alan Heaser of Minnieska; four daughters, Mary (Mrs. Stan) R upert of Zumbro Falls, Diane Klapak of South St. Paul, Carlotta (Mrs. Bern ie) Weissinger of Bloomer, Wisconsin, and Carol (Mrs. Chris) Milner, of Fr idley, 33 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Helen (M rs. Edward) Lang of Winona and Alice Fairchild of Center City, Minnesot a. She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, two grandson's, a g reat-grandson and a brother. Earl Romenesko, A Mass of Christian burial will be offered for Earl H. Romenesko at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Minneiska, with Rev. Edward McGrath offi ciating. Burial will be in the Fort Snelling National cemetery in Minneapolis, with military graveside rites by the Fort Snelling memorial rifle sq uad. Mr. Romenesko, 71, of Brownsville, Texas, formerly of Weaver and Cot tage Grove, Minn., died Sunday February 26th, 1995, at Valley Regional Med ical Center in Brownsville. Born July 18th, 1923, in Weaver, he work ed on the Railroad in Montana in the early 1940's and served in the Navy d uring World War II. After his discharge, he worked for Armour Meat Packi ng Company in South St. Paul until the plant closed and then was employ ed by the A R A Food Service until his retirement in 1988. He married Viv ian Villman Harer in 1957. She died in 1985. Mr. Romenesko was a memb er of the Moose Lodge in South St. Paul. Alice M. Fairchild, age 83, of Chisago City, MN, formerly of Weaver, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at Parmly Senior Services in Chisago City. She was born December 7, 1925 in Weaver, the daughter of Herbert and Anna (Brutsch) Romenesko. She was a graduate of Winona High School. She married Ralph Fairchild February 23, 1946 at the Weaver United Methodist Church. The family lived a few years in Rollingstone before moving to South St. Paul where Ralph worked for the Armour Meat Packing Company and Alice was a homemaker. She later worked for the State of Minnesota Department of Transportation in St. Paul issuing permits for truckers. She retired in 1988. The couple moved to Center City, MN in 1974. Ralph died September 3, 1986. Alice moved to the nursing facility in Chisago City in 2000.
Alice was a former member of the Weaver United Methodist Church. She was also a life member of Royal Neighbors.
She is survived by children and spouses, Sharon and Ron Kraetzner, South St. Paul, MN, Dennis Fairchild, Inver Grove Heights, MN, Kathleen and Jim Hale, Chandler, TX, Douglas and Sharon Fairchild, Forest Lake, MN, Debra and Robert Bruber, Chisago City, MN, Larry Fairchild, Minneapolis, MN; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Her husband, Ralph, two sisters, Elsie Heaser and Helen Lang and one brother, Earl Romenesko, preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at 11:00am at Weaver United Methodist Church in Weaver with the Reverend Lyle Krumrie officiating. Interment will be in Greenfield Cemetery in Kellogg. Casket bearers will be Denise Schneider, Jody Bruber, Kevin Fairchild, Kari Jo Burrows, Jon Fairchild, Allen Heaser, Harold Merchlewitz and Jim Fairchild. Friends may call at the church one hour before the service.

???Helen M Lang is listed at 623 E Howard ST. Winona , Minnesota
Edwin J Lang is listed at the same address. We always knew them as our aunt and uncle, Helen and Ed. They also had a daughter named Kay Wanda Lang. She would be about 65 Y.O.A. The location is right for where I remember their house. Ed was a bakery/chef by occupation, at Bloedoes (Sp?) Bakery. I will have to see if it's still in operation the next time I go down there. (I have property about 25 miles from there).
I don't know why the dates seem so far off (10 years)for the age. I have her listed as 81 at the time of death. That comes from the intelius.com website that I use for a second check on information. Ed is listed as D.O.B Jan.02, 1918 & died at age at 92. Which means he would have died this month.
Helen M. at that address is listed as D.O.B. 13 Mar.1900...17 years off! It may have been Edwin Lang's Mother. At 81 Y.O.A at the time of death, she would have died in 1981. So I am still not sure what the status of Helen Romenesko/Lang is. I don't have her Middle name available right now but I have copies of a lot of birth certificates and will find out.

The information of her death came from some of Alice Romenesko's children who are attempting to start a family tree. I am seeing a lot of their information wrong. this all started first researching when Alice recently went into the hospital before her death. This is the first I have checked their information. So...I think Helen M Lang would be Edwin J Lang's mother and the status of Helen Romenesko/Lang is still not verified!

Obituary:
James Romenesko, 66, of Butte, formerly of Great Falls, died Saturday, July 28. The family chooses not to disclose the cause of death.
Services will be held at Hillcrest Lawn Chapel 10 a.m. Saturday. Axelson Alternative Cremation, Inc. of Butte and Schnider Funeral Home of Great Falls are handling arrangements.
Jim was born in Fort Benton to Velma (Ames) and Earl Romenesko on Dec. 26, 1945. He attended early elementary school at a one-room school near the family ranch north of Carter. Later he resided and was schooled at St. Thomas Home in Great Falls. After graduation from Great Falls Central High School in 1964, Jim served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany from 1964 to 1969. Upon his return to Montana, he attended the College of Great Falls, graduating in 1973 with a degree in social science and criminal justice.
In 1973, he married Echo Pearson. Son John was born in 1976 and David in 1978. He worked in the Children's Center in Twin Bridges until 1975. After moving to Great Falls, he worked for St. Thomas Child and Family Center and later Rice Motors. He served as executive director for St. Vincent DePaul until 1990.
He married Mary Ellen Moore of Cascade in 1991. He worked as a paralegal for the Alexander, Baucus and Linnell law office until 2001. During his retirement, he worked as a rural mail carrier in Highwood and Cascade.
Woven throughout his life, music was a thread of creativity. Gifted with an "ear" for playing the guitar and singing, he played and sang with his sisters at rural events in his childhood. He started a band abroad ship in the Navy and later played in local venues during his college years. He especially enjoyed participating in Dixieland music festivals and western swing dance bands. He loved to play in nursing homes and at special community events. He passed his musical talent on by teaching guitar to young and old, including his grandson Eli. To his family and friends, he was the campfire music in the summers and kitchen music in the winters.
Jim is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen; sons John and David; stepchildren Matt (Callie) Moore and Jenny Thompson; grandsons Eli Thompson and Caelum Moore; and sisters Barbara (Pat) Barker and Leona (Don) Wade.
Often called a true gentlemen and a man who lived with his heart, he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
