    Relien (Kasten), Vivian C.Vivian C. (Kasten) Relien, 87, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, Septemb er 4, 2005 at Rennes Health Center. Vivian was born in Appleton, Wisconsi n, on January 23, 1918, daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel (Westpha l) Kasten. She married Gilbert J. Relien on June 3, 1939 and he preceded h er in death on June 25, 1990. Prior to an illness in 1969, Vivian loved bo ating, water skiing and spending time at her cottage on Lake Poygan. She a lso enjoyed playing bridge, golfing, traveling and collecting elephants.Vivian will be greatly missed by her sons: Steve (Shirley), Fort Worth, T X; Jack (Jean), Appleton and Chris, Libby, Mont.; brothers, Jim (Gina) Kas ten, Lakeside, Calif., and Tom (Sue) Kasten, Oshkosh; grandchildren, Mi ke (Jennifer) and Jeff Relien; step-grandchildren, Amanda Blankenship a nd Samantha Farmer; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Alex Relien; and sister- in-law, Margaret Kreblein.She was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph and sister-in-law "Tiny "; and brother-in-law, Jerry Kreblein.Private family services will be held.     Thomas P. Kasten, 77, of Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly on September 12 at a local hospital. He was born August 6,1939 in Appleton. Tom was the son of the late Raymond and Mabel (Westphal) Kasten. He married Suzanne Jansen on October 29, 1960. Tom was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Oshkosh. He was a graduate of Appleton West High School, class of 1957. Tom retired as a pressman from American National Can Company in Neenah. He served in the U.S. Army from July 1962-July 1964, during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Tom had the privilege of participating as a Military Police in the State Funeral Plan for the late President John F. Kennedy on November 25, 1963.
    Tom's favorite past-time included fishing on Lake Winnebago and watching sports including the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and Nascar. He had the fortune to attend the famous "Ice Bowl" game in 1967 in Green Bay. He had many friends at the Physically Challenged Program at Mercy Medical Center of which he attended faithfully. Tom also enjoyed spending time with his grandsons Donavon and Carson.
    Tom is survived by is daughter Kelly Kasten and grandchildren Donavon and Carson Schraa, all of Oshkosh; brother Jim (Gina) Kasten, Lakeside, CA; sister-in-law Pam (Joe) Jansen, Little Chute; brother-in-law Harold Jr. (Rie-ann) Jansen, Wrightstown and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Suzanne; infant daughter, Jacqueline; sister and brother-in-law Vivian and Gib Relien, brother and sister-in-law Ralph and Germanine (Tiny) Kasten; father and mother-in-law Harold (Hipe) and Bernadette Jansen; sisters-in-law Nancy (Jansen) Fox and Becky Jansen; brother-in-law Terry Schuh; and nephew Michael Kasten.
    Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11 am at Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church at 1206 Ontario Street. Oshkosh, WI 54901. Rev. Paul Lidtke will officiate. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9 am until the time of service. Military rites will be conducted following the service at church. Private committal services will be held at St. John's Catholic Cemetery in Little Chute, WI.
    The family would like to thank the paramedics, the staff of Mercy Medical Center, and Cheryl Brehmer, Deputy Coroner for their efforts and compassion.
    Tom will be greatly missed by his family and friends (but not by the fish in Lake Winnebago)!!

    Mary R. Krause, age 65, passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends at her home in Wild Rose on Thursday, September 15, 2016. She was born on December 29, 1950 to the late Ralph and Germaine (Wyngaard) Kasten in Appleton. She married Thomas Krause on June 2, 1984 And together raise two children. Mary enjoyed time around the campfire with family and friends for many years at Pineland Park in Wild Rose as well as playing bingo and slot machines. She had a lifetime of baking and cooking for her family and friends.
    She is survived by her loving husband of over 30 years, Tom Krause, two children; Sandy (Scott) Hietpas, Greenville and Brian (Jeanell) Krause, Chippewa Falls, four grandchildren; Joshua and Megan Hietpas, Ethan and Mackenzie Krause. Mary is further survived by seven siblings; Carolyn (Steve) Danielson, Waupaca, Bea Kasten, Appleton, Bruce (Dollie) Kasten, Minneapolis, Debra (Michael) Parker, Greenville, Julie (Mike) Hertziger, Appleton, Pam (Brian) Phillips, Appleton and Tina (Scott) Fafnis, Appleton. Mary is further survived by brother in law Gary (Sandy )Krause Big Falls, sisters in law, Audrey( Dennis) Myers, Neenah, Cindy (Dan) Klepps, Neenah and Laurie (Arlie) Ratliff, Appleton, many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, one great great nephew, other relatives and friends.
    Preceding Mary in death are her parents, Ralph and Tiny Kasten, her in laws, Russ and Lois Krause, a nephew, Anthony Sievert and a great niece, Mara Stange.
    A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N Richmond St, Appleton. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until the time of service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
    The family wishes to extend a special thank you to ThedaCare at Home Hospice, especially Mary's nurse Bridget for your loving care.

    Bruce Robert Kasten, age 62, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 13, 2017 in Minneapolis, MN. He was born on February 1, 1954 to the late Ralph and Germaine "Tiny" (Wyngaard) Kasten in Appleton. Bruce graduated from Appleton West High School in 1972. He married Adell "Dollie" Bomaster on January 31, 1976. Together they raised three children. Bruce started working for Rich Products Corporation when he was 19 years old and stayed with the company all of his life. He was an avid Packer and Brewer fan-never missing an opportunity to share his game strategy. Bruce spent many years coaching Babe Ruth baseball in Appleton and serving as the umpire-in-chief. He enjoyed spending time at Captain's Cove Resort and the Rock Lake Campground.
    He is survived by his loving wife of over 40 years, Dollie Kasten; three children: Elizabeth (Jeremy) Bub, Greenville, Brent (Kristy) Kasten, Kaukauna and Angela (Kirk) Bahr, Shawano; four grandchildren: Adelaine Bub, Taylor Kasten, Brady Kasten and Bennett Bahr. Bruce is further survived by seven siblings: Carolyn (Steve) Danielson, Waupaca, Vivian Kasten, Appleton, Jerry Kasten, Appleton, Debra (Michael) Parker, Greenville, Julie (Mike) Hertziger, Appleton, Pam (Brian) Phillips, Appleton and Tina (Scott)Fafnis, Appleton; brother in-law Donnie (Jackie)Bomaster, Gaastra, MI; two sisters in-law, Diane (Ray) Sablich, Brillion and Sister Maureen Bomaster, Manitowoc; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, one great-great nephew; other relatives and friends; and his best friend Jeff Larson, Appleton. Bruce was further preceded in death by his father and mother in law, Thomas and Laverne Bomaster; sister, Mary Krause; a nephew, Anthony Sievert; and a great niece, Mara Stange.
    Funeral service for Bruce will be 12:00 PM on Saturday January 21, 2017 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, with Rev. Mike Huff officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning beginning at 9:00 AM until the 12:00 PM service.
