Mrs. Ella Lehman, 73, West Allis, formerly of New London, died about 9 o'clock Monday morning in Milwaukee after short illness. She was born April 23, 1885, in Bear Creek and moved from new London to Milwaukee in 1942.
Funeral services will be at 10 o'clock Thursday morning at St. mary Catholic church, Bear Creek, with burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Cline and Hanson Funeral home, New London, after 7 o'clock tonight.

Bodoh, Sylvan V. MackvilleAge 92, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2002 at Good Shepherd Home in Se ymour. Sylvan was born December 14, 1909 in New London, the son of the la te George and Margaret (Petit) Bodoh. He farmed in the Town of Center f or most of his life, retiring from farming in 1965. Sylvan then worked f or Fox Tractor for 10 years, retiring in 1975. He was united in marria ge to Lucy Bruecker on October 9, 1935, sharing 63 years together before h er death on April 5, 1999. Sylvan was a long time member of St. Edward's C atholic Church in Mackville. Survivors include three daughters Jean Mar ie (Roger) Zuleger, Pappillion, Neb; Rose Marie (Maynard) Kettner, Shiocto n; Beatrice (Lawrence) Weyers, Black Creek; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-gran dchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Mary Jane was born on June 30, 1912, in Maple Creek Township, daughter of the late Anthony and Alice (Bodoh) Young. On October 24, 1934, she was united in marriage to Harry Lemke. He preceded her in death in 1995. She resided in the New London area all of her life. She was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. She was a member of the Senior Sodality and of the B.V.M Society.
Mary Jane is survived by a son Daniel (Lynnette) Lemke Sr., New London; a grandson Daniel (Dianna) Lemke Jr., New London; a granddaughter Katrina Lemke, New London; great grandchildren: Dominique, Kourtney, Marlin, Danielle and Hunter; and a sister Vivian Siebers, Kaukauna.

She was born on March 9, 1920, in the Town of Maple Creek, WI, to Anthony and Alice (Bodoh) Young. Vivian married Harvey Siebers at St. Mary Catholic Church in Bear Creek on November 4, 1936. Together they spent their entire married life of 54 years in Kaukauna.

She was employed by New London Family Medical Center following her graduation as well as AMC. Val owned and operated her own ceramic shop. Val was a member of the Kaukauna Community Hospital Auxiliary doing volunteer work for many years. She enjoyed golf, crocheting, rosemaling and was an excellent seamstress and cook. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Kaukauna where she was an active member of the Ladies' Foresters. She and Lawrence were active members of the Gem and Mineral Club. They both enjoyed making jewelry for their children and grandchildren. Val had an unconditional love for her entire family.

Ralph A. Young, age 92 of Clintonville passed away peacefully Sunday morning, October 20, 2013 at the Greentree Health & Rehabilitation Center in Clintonville.
Ralph was born in the Town of Deer Creek, Outagamie County, on August 12, 1921. He was the son of the late Frank and Della (Balthazor) Young. Ralph grew up on the family farm with his many brothers and sisters. He lived there until February 14, 1942 when he married Violet N. Bricco. They were married 71 ½ years. The couple purchased a farm in rural Shiocton and farmed there until 1955 when they moved to Clintonville. They then bought a farmette in rural Clintonville in 1962. Ralph was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Clintonville where he served as an usher for many years. He was an avid gardener and farmer. Ralph worked at Crystal Fountain Dairy, Diecks' Excavating, Seagrave, and also drove school bus for many years. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed entertaining family and friends in his backyard.
Survivors include: His Wife: Violet.
4 Children: Sandra (Wayne) Olson, Embarrass; Sheila (Jim) Villesse, New London; Thomas (Nancy) Young, Clintonville; & Anne (Brandon) Stern, Waupaca.
13 Grandchildren & 2 Step Grandchildren; 20 Great-Grandchildren & 4 Step Great-Grandchildren.

Hazel V. Barrington, 94, New London, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, at St. Joseph Residence in New London. She was born on April 10, 1914, in New London, daughter of the late Eugene and Emily (Balthazor) Bessett. She married Frank Roberts, and they were married 20 years together until his death. She then married Clyde Barrington and they were married 35 years until his death.
She is survived by her children, Beverly (Robert) Willard, Keith (Doris) Roberts, Robert (Barbara) Roberts, Gloria Knorr, Judith (Jay ) Krake, Mary (Charles) Brennen; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons-in-law, Conrad Christensen and Ronald Knorr; and a sister and brother-in-law Dorothy (Glenn) Hall.
A private memorial service for Hazel will be held in the spring.

Helerian Victor Balthazor, age 82, New London, left this earth on Sunday, November 7, 2010. Helerian was born on January 31, 1928, oldest son of Casper and Gertrude (Simmonis) Balthazor. On October 18, 1950, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Spoehr. Helerian retired from the Neenah Foundry in 1992, after 29½ years of service. His love for life was hunting, fishing and watching his large garden grow. You can take the boy off the farm but you can't take the farm out of the boy.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; was the loving father of: Helen Wilson, Michael Balthazor, his wife, Barb, Jerome Balthazor, his wife, Phyllis, Margaret Douglas, Diana Warren and special friend, Tex Keeton, and James Balthazor. Loving grandfather of Michael Wilson, Laural Connolly, Ryan Balthazor, Jason Balthazor, Amy Alf, Merri Balthazor, Katheryn Weidner, Jerilyn Anker, Tammy Douglas, Samantha Warren, Kristina Warren, Judith Warren, Jolen Calkens, Jordan Balthazor, Jacole Balthazor, Michael Theodore James. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Marcella A. Guyette, Clintonville, age 78, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2008, at Select Specialty Hospital in Milwaukee. Marcella was born on November 2, 1929, in Maple Creek Township (Outagamie County), daughter of the late Casper and Gertrude (Simonis) Balthazor. On June 22, 1949, Marcella married John Guyette in Bear Creek. She loved gardening, fishing, flowers, and cats. She was retired from Hortonville Toy Factory.
Marcella is survived by her husband of 58 years John, three daughters: Sandra (Larry) Sederstrom, Iola; Ann (Bart) Moericke, Clintonville; Mary (Tod) Besaw, Iola; three sons: David (Pat) Guyette, Iola; Donald (Connie) Guyette, New London; Steven (Debra) Guyette, New London; two brothers: Norman (Betty) Balthazor, Bear Creek and Helerian (Dorothy) Balthazor, New London; two sisters: Carol (Tom) Rebman, New London and Donna (Gerald) Jenkins, New London. Norman "Norm" L. Balthazor, 70, died at home on Friday, April 10, 2009, with his family by his side following a strong four year battle with cancer. Norm was born April 1, 1939, in the Township of Maple Creek, son of the late Casper and Gertrude (Simonis) Balthazor. On June 2, 1973, Norm was united in marriage to Elizabeth (Betty) Hutchison. Throughout his life, Norm enjoyed many activities, including gardening, woodworking, fishing and farming. He also loved to polka.
Norm is survived by his wife, Betty; and children, Dan (Tammy) La Marche, Green Bay; Laurie (Don) Carlton, Little Suamico; Jan (Mike) Russert, Pleasant Prairie; Sarah Balthazor, Wisconsin Rapids; Beth (Joel) Ombati, Woodville; Jill Balthazor, Appleton; and Nathan Balthazor, Sugar Bush. He is further survived by his brother, Helerian (Dorothy) Balthazor, Royalton; sisters, Carol (Tom) Rebman, New London; and Donna (Jerold) Jenkins, New London; sisters-in-law, Donna Balthazor and Jeanne Balthazor; and brothers-in-law, Harold Schweitzer and John Guyette. Mrs. Lorraine J. Lowney, age 73, of Manawa, was reunited with her husband, Leonard, and her two sons, Brian and Thomas, in heaven on Wednesday, Au gust 30, 2006. She passed peacefully in the early morning with her fami ly by her side. She was born on September 28, 1932, to William and Leona ( Bertram) Balthazor. Lorraine graduated from New London High School in M ay of 1950. She married her true love, Leonard Lowney, on July 19, 195 0, in Bear Creek, Wisconsin. Lorraine was a loving, dedicated wife and mot her. Her greatest joy was watching her children and grandchildren. She s at through many football games and wrestling matches with a smile on her f ace.

New London - Theodore "Ray" Balthazor, age 83 of New London, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at ThedaCare in Neenah after a short illness. Ray was born on February 19, 1935 in Bear Creek to the late Bill and Leona Balthazor. He was united in marriage to Shirley Anvelink on June 8, 1963. Ray was employed at Bordens/Saputo in New London and retired after 40 years. He was a board supervisor for 40 years for the Town of Maple Creek and was a volunteer for the New London Fire Department for 10 years. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to flea markets, doing yard work and collecting old cars. He loved attending the Iola Car Show. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Ray is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Sue (Jim) Stern, New London; grandchildren, Jessica (Derek) Jablonicky, Green Bay and Meagan (Matt) Skarzynski, Shawano; great-grandson, Mason and brother-in-law, Terry (Julie) Anvelink, Navarino.

He was born December 19, 1937, in New London to the late Chester and Catherine (Peeters) Balthazor. Erv married Donna Bergsbaken September 12, 1957, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek. He served his country in the United States Navy. Erv worked at the Neenah Foundry for 40 years retiring in 2000. He and Donna were members of St. Edward Parish for over 45 years.

Stanley S. Guyette, 94, Green Bay, passed away very peacefully at a local hospital on Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Stanley was born on December 23, 1913.
He married Helen Stephen on January 4, 1941. Stanley served in the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during WWII. Together Stanley and Helen raised four boys and a daughter. He was a member of the VFW Duck Creek Post 7534. Stanley enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid reader. He was especially proud of his "second career" of cutting pulp in northern Wisconsin after retiring from Olson Trailer and Body in 1971.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Helen; four children, Ronald (Nancy), Little Suamico; Larry (Sharon), De Pere; Bob (Rhonda), Little Suamico; Barb McNitt, Green Bay; daughter-in-law, Donna, De Pere; 15 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; two great- great grandchildren; one sister May Rose (Joe) Klein, CA; two sisters-in-law.
Stanley was preceded in death by his son, Gary; nine brothers and sisters.
A celebration of Stanley's life with a visitation will be held at the Pfotenhauer Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Howard-Suamico location, 1145 Cardinal Lane, on Thursday, Oct. 23, from 4 until 7 p.m. Funeral service 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Vera Mary Lietz, Vera Mary Davidson, Appleton, Age 86, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2002 at Appleton Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born on June 23, 1916 in Michigan the daughter of the late Mitchell and Alice (Bricco) Guyette. She married Edwin Davidson in August of 1935 and he passed away in July of 1963. In March of 1967 she married Alvin Lietz. Vera gave much of herself by volunteering with the Outagamie Volunteers in Probation, worked with children at Foster School, and was a charter member of Riverview Lutheran Church. She loved to crochet and gave her friends and family many beautiful gifts.

b>Meyer, Alice "Babe" M.Alice "Babe" M. Meyer, 80, of the Township of Deer Creek, Outagamie County, passed away Friday, March 16, 2007, at the Riverside Medical Center, Waupaca. Alice was born on Dec. 13, 1926, in Wakefield, Mich., the daughter of the late Mitchell and Alice (Bricco) Guyette. She was raised in New London and on Aug. 27, 1947, married Duane Meyer at the St. Denis Catholic Church, Shiocton. The couple lived in the Township of Maine, Outagamie County for three years until moving to the Township of Deer Creek where they have lived since. Raising their family of three children, Alice had worked at Hortonville Manufacturing for ten years then worked at the Hortonville Canning Company. Her most precious "job" was caring for her family, making dresses and providing meals. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, playing cards, mysteries, her cats "Tiger" and "Calico" and dancing. Alice could tap dance up and down the stairs on roller skates. Musical talents included singing, playing guitar, pump organ and accordion. When traveling, Alice was an excellent navigator. She was a member of the Maranatha Baptist Church, Township of Navarino, Shawano County. She accepted Christ as her Savior in April of 1975. Her family takes great comfort in this blessed hope. Sister Alice Mae Malliet, formerly known as Sister Mark, age 84, a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross, died February 2, 2015 at a local nursing home.
Alice Mae Malliet was born on May 27, 1930 in Bear Creek, WI, one of twelve children of George and Esther (Suprise) Malliet. She attended St. Mary's Grade School and New London High School. She entered the convent in 1948, professed her vows in 1952, and celebrated her Diamond Jubilee in 2009.
Sister Alice Mae earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from St. Norbert College, De Pere. She served as a teacher at St. Matthew, Green Bay, St. Joseph, Madison, St. Boniface, De Pere, St. Isidore, Osman, St. Joseph, Marinette, St. Mary, Peshtigo, and St. Jude, Green Bay. Sister Alice Mae served as a ward clerk at several hospitals, was a secretary and receptionist at St. Joseph Retreat House in Bailey's Harbor and at St. Norbert Abbey, and served for a time as Motherhouse Coordinator. In1998 she retired to the Motherhouse.
Sister Alice Mae will be remembered for her love of Community, crocheting, playing cards, reading and enjoyment of good movies, with "Sound of Music" as her favorite. She kept in contact with family and friends by email and letters. She loved singing and could whistle any tune. One of her favorite sayings when life was challenging was: "Grin and bear it; earn some merit."
Survivors include the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross and Associate members; three brothers: George (Florence), New London, Eugene, Kimberly, Durrell (Sue), Wrightstown; sister-in-law: Winifred Welter, Clintonville; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents: George and Esther; five brothers: Julius, Marlin, Donald, Gordon, Roger; two sisters: Grace Cattanach, LaRayne Zeeman; brother-in-law: Carl Zeeman; two sisters-in-law: Bernice and Sandy Malliet.
Friends may call at St. Francis Convent, 3110 Nicolet Drive, Green Bay on Thursday, February 5 at 4:00 p.m. for the reception of the body and visitation. The Vigil Service will be at 6:30 p.m. at the convent. Visitation for Sister Alice Mae will continue on Friday, February 6 at Holy Cross Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Road, from 9:45 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m.with Rev. Roger Malliet, age 73, Appleton, formerly of New London went to his final resting place unexpectedly on May 30, 2011. Roger was born on January 11, 1938, in Bear Creek, the son of George and Esther (Surprise) Malliet. He served his country in the US Navy. On August 25, 1962, Roger married Gladys Stallberg. She preceded him in death in 1982. He worked at Mercury Marine in Fond Du Lac and later was employed at Simmons Juvenile Products in new London.
Rodger is survived by three brothers: George (Florence) Malliet, New London; Eugene (Marilyn) Malliet, Kimberly and Durrell (Susan) Malliet, Wrightstown; a sister, Alice Malliet, Bay Settlement, Green Bay; as well as several nieces, nephews, close friend, Kathy Rausch and other relatives and friends.

She was born June 22, 1927, to the late James and Esther (McClone) Malliet, in Bear Creek and had been an Appleton resident all of her life. Pat had been employed by Joe The Trader and Best Bakery. She enjoyed spending time at her home on Legend Lake, her family and reading. Pat was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Neenah YMCA.
She is survived by four children: Patrick (Kathy) Brockman, Milwaukee; Paul Brockman, Menasha; Mark Brockman, Neenah; Mary (Robert "Bones") DeGroot, Menasha; four grandchildren: Neeka and Reegan Cheslock, Dylan and Shelby Brockman; and a sister, Betty Jean Kieffer, Marinette.

Jean was born Nov. 8, 1947, in Bear Creek, the daughter of Reginald and Laura Malliet. Jean was united in marriage to Donald Spoehr on Sept. 21, 1969, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Bear Creek. She was employed with the Outlook Group, town of Menasha.
Jean loved spending time with her family; she loved her grandchildren very much. She and Don enjoyed bowling together and taking one day "vacations".

Donald J. Quaintance, age 97, New London, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017. He was born on February 29, 1920 in New London son of the late George and Mary (Bodoh) Quaintance. On November 30, 1946, Don married Phyllis Roberts. He served his country in WWII in the Battle of the Bulge as a Paratrooper for the 101st Airborne. Don was the founder of the New London Veterans Memorial Wall; he watched it being built from start to finish. Don went on the Old Glory Honor Flight. He worked at the Neenah Foundry for 32 years and also worked for the Green Bay and Western Railroad for one summer. Don was a member of the American Legion and the DAV.

Kenneth H. Schumacher, age 82, passed away on January 7, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. Ken was born in Stephensville on August 29, 1930, son of the late Albert and Mildred Schumacher. After graduating from Appleton High School, Ken proudly served in the U.S. Navy. On December 27, 1951, Ken married Lila "Dickie" Vander Zanden. They went on to enjoy 61 years of marriage and raised four children.
Ken loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and making his famous "greasy eggs" on the campfire. He also enjoyed the swimming pool, fixing things and watching golf on T.V.

Anthony "Tony" H. Kraus, 74, of Necedah, Wisconsin; loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and advocate of the unborn was called into the arms of our loving Lord surrounded by his immediate family on Wednesday, March 6, 2013, at his home.
He was born on December 1, 1938, to John and Arbella (Young) Kraus. Anthony married Judy Ann Roberts on May 14, 1958 at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London, Wisconsin. Tony proudly served his country in the National Guard from 1958 through 1962.
He spent his working years at the Neenah Foundry Company and retired after 40 years of dedicated employment in 1998. He had a love for the outdoors, especially for gardening, bird watching, fishing, and deer hunting. He had three donkey companions, Charlie, Alex and Pokey, which he cared for until he became too ill.
Anthony had a great sense of humor, often sharing stories and pranks with his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted member of the Necedah Shrine and worked many hours on the House of Prayer. Anthony has a strong belief that all life is precious, born or unborn. He was the founder of "Crusaders for Life" and traveled thousands of miles with many young men, women and others to promote life. He was a superhero to his children, and will be deeply missed by many.
As one of his grandchildren wrote: This evening the Lord Almighty welcomed my grandfather Anthony Kraus into his kingdom with open arms. During his final hours the family sat around him and comforted him with the love that a loving grandfather has earned over the course of many years. We all held his hand and told him how much he meant to us and the lessons he taught us. There is no other that I met who fought to be the voice for all the little ones who had no voice and never had the chance to take a breath on their own! We may mourn for a time now that he is gone, but now we will celebrate his life, as he lived with a whole heart. You could hear his chuckle from a mile away!
He is survived by his loving wife Judy of 55 years; his daughter, Julie (Greg) Robinson, of Neenah and their children, Michael (Melinda) Robinson, Matthew (Jenna) Robinson, Christopher Robinson, and Joshua (fiancee, Rachel) Robinson; his daughter, Christine (Edward) Gilmore of Neenah and their children, Sarah (Eric) Turner, Jonathon Gilmore, and Melissa Gilmore; his daughter, Lauri (David) Dausey of Neenah and their children, Katie (Greg) Wagner, and Jennifer Dausey; his son, Robert (Michele) Kraus of Necedah and their children, Nicole (Damian) Nowland, Edward (Erin) Bunch, and Shawn (Allison) Nollenberg; his daughter Sandra (David) Erickson of Neenah and their children, Amanda Shilobrit, Travis Shilobrit, and Josh Erickson; his daughter, Leann (Scott) Kaczmarek of Neenah and their children, Samantha Kaczmarek, and Grace Ann Kaczmarek; along with 12 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by 32 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Walter and Ray; a son Marvin; a niece, Theresa Marg and a godson Peter Beyer.
The Funeral Mass for Harland will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London with Fr. John Kleinschmidt officiating. Visitation will be held at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home on Monday from 4-7 p.m. and also at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Earl "Whitey" Siebers

Age 73, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center from complications of lymphoma. Whitey was born on February 22, 1940 in Kaukauna, son of the late Harvey and Vivian (Young) Siebers. He received his education in the Kaukauna School System. Whitey found the love of his life and on June 4, 1969, he was united in marriage to Lana Haack at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. He was employed as a mill worker for Thilmany in Kaukauna for 44 years until his retirement. He was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association and he enjoyed fishing, cooking, horse shows, hunting, and spoiling his grandson Ean.
Whitey is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Jason and Amy Siebers; his grandson, Ean Siebers; a foster daughter, Kristine (Christopher) Okkerse; six sisters: Blanche (Bob) Meyer, Elaine (Howard) Hayek, Sharon (Bob) Hoehne, Joan (Kurt) Vogel, Bonnie (Don) Tomazevic, Mary Siebers (Rudy); three brothers: Bernard (Teri) Siebers, Harvey (Tami) Siebers, and Mark (Kathy) Siebers; a Godson, Joey Tomazevic; a special cousin, Sally Schoenborn, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, his loving wife, Lana, his father and mother-in-law: Mick and Mearle Haack, two sisters: Darlene Schroeder and Deanna Guyette, a brother-in-law, Eugene Tennessen, and a nephew, Paul Tennessen.
The Mass of Christian Burial for Whitey will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna with Fr. Tom Pomeroy celebrating. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Algoma. Friends will be received directly at the church on Thursday from 2:00 PM until the time of the mass. Funeral services for Thomas Lee Kappell, 29, of 231 Jefferson Street, were at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Hoffmann officiating. Interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Kappell, a partner in the Abitz Water Service, Route 6, Appleton, died on Tuesday, October 21, when the sides of the excavation in which he was working on the Dean Van Vreede farm, Highway 55, Kaukauna, collapsed.

Young, James J. James J. Young, age 76 years, of Clintonville, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at St. Joseph Residence, New London. James John Young was born August 23, 1931, in New London to the late Theodore and Anna Marie (Peters) Young. He was united in marriage on October 14, 1953, to Beatrice Carol Desmond at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bear Creek. The couple farmed for many years just east of Bear Creek. After selling the farm, Jim worked for Larsen's Cooperative in New London, selling seed to area farmers for over 10 years. The couple moved to Clintonville in the late 1970s. His wife, Carol, preceded him in death on March 25, 2004. Jim is a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bear Creek, and is currently a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, Clintonville. Jim enjoyed fishing, wood crafts, gardening, watching and feeding the birds, and playing cards, especially sheepshead.
Survivors include eight children: Joan Reissmann, Neenah; Michael (Cathy) Young, Appleton; Margie Carpenter, Navarino; Marie (Rusty) Wied, Weyauwega; Shirley (Karol) Young, Madison; Frank Young, Clintonville; Steve (Jill) Young, Clintonville; Andrew Young, Appleton. There are 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; four sister: Mildred Stingle, Black Creek; Rosie (Lloyd) Glatz, Kaukauna; Bernice (Ronald) Young, Kaukauna; Marcella (James) Freimuth, Appleton; four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law: Bill (Mary) Desmond, Neshkoro; Darlene (Lloyd) Mares, Bear Creek; Dick (Joyce) Desmond, Wyoming; Joanne (Mike) VanWagner, Poy Sippi; Danny Desmond, Oconto Falls; and John (Kay) Desmond, Hortonville. Further survived by many other relatives and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, a sister-in-law Mary Desmond, and a brother-in-law Dennis Stingle.

Berniece V. Young, Kaukauna Wisconsin, passed away on October 14, 2017. Berniece was born on November 25, 1935 in Deer Creek, Wisconsin to Theodore and Anna (Peeter) Young. She was a graduate of Shiocton High School. On July 14, 1954 she married Ronald J. Young in Bear Creek and he preceded her in death on February 29, 2012. Together, Berniece and Ronald owned and operated R.B. Pallett Service where she worked for over 22 years until her retirement on December 1, 2006. Berniece loved to travel. In her life she was able to attend a World's Fair in Tennessee and 3 Super Bowls. She travelled to Alaska, Florida, New Orleans and Texas. For over 20 years, Berniece and Ronald made annual trips to Hawaii and she always looked forward to that trip. She also went to Guatamala, Barbados, Canada for fishing and Puerto Rico. She was a member of Irish Water and Mid Valley Golf Clubs and on March 17, 2004 she scored a hole-in-one while golfing in a foursome with Ronald and Peg and Dick O'Keefe. She was a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna.

Helen J. Pierre, 81, of Appleton, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Heartwood Homes in Appleton. Helen Jean Pierre was born on September 10, 1933 in the Town of Deer Creek, in Outagamie County. She was the second of four children born to the late Marian (Smith) and Clarence Young. Helen graduated from Clintonville High School in 1951. She married the love of her life, Everett Pierre, on June 10, 1953 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek. They spent 60 wonderful loving years together until his death in November of 2013. She was proud of being a full time mother, and loving grandmother. In an age when many women did not work outside of the home, she was also the full time office staff for her husband's insurance agency for many years, both in their home and at the office in the downtown area of Clintonville. She was a woman of many talents. Helen could sew proficiently; she was an excellent cook and loved to bake. A member of the St. Rose Altar Society and Christian Mothers she volunteered for many church activities. She loved to curl in couple's league. She was an avid bridge player and loved a game of cards. Later in life Mom took up ceramics and then oil painting. Her home and the homes of all her family are decorated with her precious works of art. She especially loved painting landscapes, birds, and Christmas ornaments. She enjoyed refinishing furniture. She learned to swim at the age of 50 when her grandchildren were born, to be able to enjoy time in the water with them at their lake home. Until she was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease she loved to travel, taking many trips both in this country and abroad with Everett. In retirement she enjoyed several winters in Panama City Beach, FL and the remainder of the year was spent at the Cloverleaf Lakes where she and Dad built their dream home. When her health began to fail, they moved to Appleton to be nearer to family. She was a mentor of faith for all who knew her. She was a woman of grace and good taste.
Helen is survived by her children; Mary Ann (Mel) Johnson of Appleton, Jeffrey (Ann)Pierre of Hortonville, Barbara (Rick) Futter of Mequon, and David (Lisa) Pierre of Appleton, ten grandchildren; Nathan (Becky) Johnson, Sarah (Ryan) Brockman, Michael Johnson, Carolyn (Travis) Pedersen, John (Laura) Pierre, Kristin (Chad) Pierre-Balthazor, Andrew (Maggie Landry) Futter, Emily Futter, Katie (Patrick) Koleske, and Lauren Pierre, six great-grandchildren; Audrey Johnson, Jack and Benjamin Pedersen, Sophia Koleske, Owen Brockman, and Patrick Landry-Futter. Marlene was born in Bear Creek on December 8, 1944, daughter of the late Robert and Joyce (Muthig) Balthazor. On October 20, 1962, she married Jerry Lyons, and together the couple enjoyed fifty years together. They raised two daughters: Leann (David) Roth of Harrison and their son Austin; and Kara Wiesner of Oshkosh and her children Brody and Xander.
