Military Service:
In November of 1918 Louis' parents received a telegram from the war department stating the Louis was "missing in action". In a letter to his parents dated October 8, Louis indicated he had be wounded below the knee and was sent to a hospital. This gave his parents hope that it was a mistake thinking he would not have gotten back into action so soon. As it turned out they were correct. He returned home after the war. While in Madison receiving treatment for his wounds he drowned fishing on Lake Mendota in 1924. It took 2 weeks to recover the body.

The son of the late Mart in and Mary (Minten) Albers was born May 22, 1911, in De Pere. On Ju ne 8, 1940, he married the former Bernice Thomson at St. Joseph Churc h, De Pere. She preceded him in death on Oct. 9, 1996. Jerome was a homebu ilder with Martin Albers & Sons, later called Albers Builders. Mr. Albe rs was a charter member of the De Pere Area Golden K Club. Obituary:
Bernard F. Albers, 84, took Jesus hand to join his beloved wife, Laurie, on September 2, 2000. He was comforted by his family, who were praying at his side. Bernard was born June 14, 1916, in De Pere to the late Martin and Mary Albers. On June 14, 1949, he married Laurie (Van Camp) Albers. Bernard served in the Army in World War II. Bernard was self employed as a home contractor. (Martin Albers & Son) and (Albers Builders), until his retirement. Bernard had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed cooking, writing poetry, reading and creating various carpentry projects. He often challenged his grandchildren wiht thinking games. He was a devoted member and colunteer at Our Lady of Lourdes.

He preceded her in death on May 24, 19 97. Mildred was born May 1, 1918, in De P ere, the daughter of the late William and Anna (Thomson) Albers. On Apr il 27, 1937, she married Clarence Gerrits at St. Boniface Catholic Chur ch in De Pere. He preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1989. Mildred farmed f or many years with her husband in the De Pere area until their retiremen t. She enjoyed playing cards, growing flowers, and doing crafts. Lillian H. Mooren, 86, De Pere, died peacefully surrounded by her family Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at a local hospital. She was born Oct. 29, 1920, in Green Bay, to the late William and Anna (Thompson) Albers. On June 28, 1940, she married Sylvester Mooren Sr. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, De Pere. Lillian was an avid card player, enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Boniface and the Christian Mothers. Lillian is member of Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family.
She is survived by her family, Shirley (Jim) Rentmeester, Elaine (Ron) Green, Patricia (Jerry) Ambrosius, Sylvester "Jupe" (Judy) Mooren Jr., her daughter-in-law, Ella Mooren, 16 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren; her brother, Wilber (Audrey) Albers, and five sisters-in- law, Mae Vanden Hoogen, Agatha Albers, Lorraine Albers, Ethel Mooren, and Josephine Mooren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, David, her brothers, Louis, Ed (Margaret), Henry, Leo (Agatha), and Bob. Lillian is further preceded in death by her sisters, Loretta (Joe) Denk, Mildred (Clarence) Gerrits, and Minnie (Joe) Thyssen.
Visitation for Lillian will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. (TODAY) Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family corner of Lourdes Avenue and Suburban Drive, De Pere. Wilbert E. "Bud" Albers, 90, of De Pere, died Thanksgiving Day, Thursday November 28, 2013. The son of the late William and Anna (Thompson) Albers was born March 27, 1923 in De Pere. On September 5, 1946, he married the former Audrey Ann Kieffer in Freedom.
Bud served his country in the US Army during WWII. A Decorated Veteran, Sgt. Albers served in the Third Army and received four Battle Stars: France, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Battle of the Bulge.
Following his service years, he worked as a heavy equipment operator at Daanen and Janssen retiring after forty years of service. He loved to hunt, fish and play cards. Bud was a loyal, proud member of De Pere VFW Post 2113.
Survivors include his wife Audrey, their children, Bonnie (Dick) Moyse, Tom (Sue) Albers, Dale (Martha) Albers, and Ken (Betsy) Albers, grandchildren, Ann, David (Kris), Dan, John (fiancé, Sara), Valerie (Bill Harrington), Aaron, Emma and great granddaughters, Zoey and Fara. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law, Agatha and Lorraine Albers, Eva, Ruth, and Mary Kieffer. Bud was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Edward (Margaret) Albers, Leo (Agatha) Albers, Henry (Mae) Albers, Louis Albers, Robert Albers, Joseph (Loretta) Denk, Joseph (Minnie) Thyssen, Clarence (Mildred) Gerrits, brothers-in-law, Sylvester (Lillian) Mooren and Herman Vanden Hogen. Louis L. Albers, 81, De Pere passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, Nov. 6, 2006, at a local hospital surrounded by his family. He was born April 10, 1925, in West De Pere to the late William and Anna (Thompson) Albers. He married the former Lorraine Linssen on Nov. 23, 1950, at St. Phillip Catholic Church in Green Bay. Louis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a member of the De Pere VFW Post 2113. Louis was a member of St. Mary Catholic Community and was a member of the Holy Name Society. Louis was a union heavy equipment operator all his life. He enjoyed playing cards on Tuesdays with his buddies at the VFW Club in Bellevue. Louis loved to follow De Pere High School sports as well as the Packers.

Janet M. Borman, 81, De Pere died Thursday, Aug. 12, 2004, following a short illness at Century Oaks in Wrightstown. Janet was born March 8, 1923, in the Town of Lawrence, the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Albers) Willems. On June 14, 1941, she was united in marriage to Leslie Borman at St. Boniface Catholic Church in De Pere. He preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 1990. Janet was employed for several years at St. Norbert College in the housekeeping department. She was an avid card player who especially enjoyed playing sheepshead, and cribbage.

Geneva enjoyed traveling, the outdoors, her birds, working on her lawn and gardening. She was a great cook and baker and belonged to the Homemakers Club for years. Geneva had a heart of gold and was well liked by everyone who knew her. Mrs. Ambrosius worked with the family business, Ambrosius Concrete Supplies for many years. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Jeff (Jean) Ambrosius, Todd (Lisa) Ambrosius, Becky (Duane) Oudenhoven, grandchildren, Alyssa and Andy Ambrosius, Janell and Michael Oudenhoven, Tyler and Megan Ambrosius. She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Nell, her husband, Jim, and siblings, Rita Ransom, Marian Van Vonderen and Donald Calaway.

James Gerrits, age 77, Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, January 24, 2015, with his loving family by his side. James was born August 28, 1937. James was the oldest of six children. He was the son of Clarence Gerrits and Mildred (Albers) Gerrits.
James grew up in West DePere, WI. As a young man James joined the army. After completing his tour in the United States Army, he started dating his future wife, Gail (VanEnkenvort) Gerrits. They were married on July 21, 1962.
James had several different career choices as a young man and then decided to work for Techtron Tubing and ultimately retired from that company. Jim was a volunteer at Paul's Pantry for 26 years. He was a huge asset to the pantry and will be missed by all his friends down there.
His children, Dan and Connie were the apples of his eyes. He spoiled them rotten even as adults. He loved them with all his heart. He would do anything for them and was always there for them when they needed him. He was a kind, compassionate, and loving father. He was the best Dad ever! His grandchildren meant the world to him. They were his pride and joy!
Like all of us in Green Bay, WI, he was a crazy Packer Fan. Go Pack Go! Jim loved to fish and hunt. He spent numerous hours teaching his son, daughter and grandchildren to fish, attempting to catch smelt fish and sucker fish with his son and daughter-in-law, and hunting with his relatives and friends in the woods. He would spend hours doing both of these hobbies. Those were two of his favorite hobbies. He also was a great gardener with a green thumb. He loved his plants and always had fun taking care of them and growing the assorted vegetables and flowers in his garden and yard. He loved to show them off.
James (Jim) is survived by the love of his life, his wife Gail; his son, Daniel Gerrits and (Bonnie Semrau-Gerrits), Green Bay, WI; his daughter, Connie and (Roger Garstang), Wentzville, MO. His six, cute, and extremely lovable grandchildren, Matthew, Maria, and Mairee Gerrits; and Lydia, Olivia, and Lucy Garstang. He is also survived by his brothers and their spouses,: Gerald, Kenneth and Mary Jo, John and Barbara, Paul and Sue Gerrits; and his sister and her husband, Jane and Gary VanDerWegen.
His Brothers-In-Law Eugene VanEnkenvort (Friend Barb), and David and Kathy VanEnkenvort. His Sisters-In-Law and their spouses, Bernice and William Aerts, Sandra and John Giles, Cheryl (Sherry) and Jay Hewitt, and Elaine Green; Many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Clarence Gerrits and Mildred (Albers) Gerrits; his Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law, Vincent and Amelia (Molly) (Hock) VanEnkenvort; His Sister-In-Law, Luella VanEnkenvort, His Brothers-In-Law, Leonard Green and Archie Best; and his Sister-In-Law, Joyce VanEnkenvort.

Fortified by the Sacraments of the Church, Ronald "Ron" Mooren, 73, De Pere passed away on Saturday March 11, 2017. He was born June 2, 1943 to the late Norbert and Florence (Albers) Mooren. Ron was a graduate of Abbot Pennings High School. On October 11, 1969 he married Jean Selissen. Ron retired from Procter and Gamble after 35 years. He was a faithful member of St. Michael Church, De Pere where he belonged to The Holy Name Society. Ron enjoyed playing golf and cards with his friends, and liked to attend his grandchildren's activities. He was a good natured person who always had a wink and smile for everyone.
He is survived by his children: Betsy Heinemeyer, Cindy (Mike) Vander Heiden, Pete (Katie) Mooren, and Joe Mooren. Ron is further survived by 8 grandchildren: Savannah, Isaiah, Adrian, Morgan, Emily, Landon, Asher, and Gemma. His sister Kathy (Jim) Kocken, mother in law Laverne Selissen, and Jean's family also survive him.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife Jean in 2014, and his brother George.

He was surrounded by his loving f amily, who supported him through his seven-year battle with cancer. Rich w as born August 8, 1941, to the late Joseph and Marian (Ambrosius) Willem s. He graduated in 1960, with the first graduating class from West De Pe re High School. Rich served in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1966, includi ng a tour of duty in Viet Nam. On January 9, 1965, he married the former M ary Pat Rademacher at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom. Rich was a me mber of VFW Post 2113.In his earlier years, Rich enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his garde n, flowers and squirrels. Rich was devoted to his wife and was proud of h is children. He loved his granddaughters very much and the time spent wi th them baking cookies and cupcakes, playing in the pool, watching Pri ce is Right and High Fives always brought a smile to his face. A recent af ternoon of fishing at Mary's Pond will be something the girls will alwa ys remember.Survivors include his wife, Mary Pat, and their children: Bob (Dawn) Wille ms, Barb (Ed Wojkiewicz) Willems and Patti Willems; three granddaughter s: Taylor and Kelsey Willems and Saige Wojkiewicz along with Chloe Kleuske ns, whom he considered "another" granddaughter. He is further surviv ed by brothers, Joey (Joanne) Willems, Les "Sonny" (Diane) Willems, Jim (B etty) Willems, two sisters, Helen (Jim) Calhoun, Mary (Rick) Nickel, as we ll as his step mother-in-law, Agnes Rademacher and her family.He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Marian Willems, a brot her, David and in-laws, Cliff and Rita Rademacher.Friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, fr om 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday (TODAY) August 24, 2006.
