    Mrs. Mary Lesselyong dies today at age 91 Mrs. Mary Lesselyong, 91, pioneer resident of Marshfield and mother of William J. Lesselyong, World War soldier after whom the local American Legion Post was named, died at 5:30 o'clock this morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Robert Errington, Appleton. Mrs. Lesselyong resided at 202 N. Vine st, and her body will be brought back to this city (Marshfield) for burial. Mrs. Lesselyong, nee Mary Leinwander, was born Jan. 17, 1850 in Austria-Hungary and lived there until she moved with her parents to Appleton. She lived in Appleton until about eight years after her marriage to John E. Lesselyong when she moved to Marshfield with her husband and family. After the death of her husband 10yrs ago Mrs. Lesselyong lived with her daughter, Mrs. William Scheller here in Marshfield during the summers and spent the winters with her daughter, Mrs. R.E.Errington, in Appleton. Was Gold Star Mother Mr. and Mrs. Lesselyong celebrated their golden wedding anniversary 18 yrs ago. She was one of the first Gold Star Mothers here; a member of the St. John's Altar Society, and charter member of the American Legion Auxillary of Marshfield. Surviving are the following children: George, Tuolomme, Calif; Jake, Clintonville; Mike, Appleton; Mrs. William Scheller, Marshfield; and Mrs. Robert E. Errington, Appleton. Sixteen grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren also survive. Preceding her in death were her husband, three brothers, two sisters, and the following children; Mrs. John (Mayme) ReVoyr, Mrs. Gary(Helen) Mason, William J. Lesselyong, and John Lesselyong Jr. Two daughters and a son died in childhood.

    Obituary:
    Norbert J. Rotzenberg, 89, Menasha, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Cherry Meadows, Appleton. He was born on March 10, 1917, in Askeaton, Wis., son of the late Peter and Louise (Vande Voort) Rotzenberg. Norbert was married to Helen Walls on June 10, 1950, at St. Johns in Green Bay.
    He is survived by his wife, Helen, Menasha; four children, David (Diane) Rotzenberg, Alabama; Mary Anne (Bill) Alt, Evansville, Wis.; Paul (Diane) Rotzenberg, Milwaukee; George (Linda) Rotzenberg, Appleton; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Helen Paul, Grace Rotzenberg, Blanche Berken and Ruth Rotzenberg.
    He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Frances.
    A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2006, 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Menasha, with Fr. Roy Geenen officiating. Friends and family will be received at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of the service. Inurnment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery in Askeaton, Wis.
    The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Cherry Meadows for Norbert's wonderful care.

    Helen M. (Rotzenberg) Paul, 96, of De Pere, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2014.
    The daughter of the late Peter and Louise (Vande Voort) Rotzenberg was born on September 2, 1918 in Askeaton, WI. Helen graduated from Nicolet High School. She married Sylvan Paul on September 6, 1941 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Askeaton. They enjoyed over 54 years together. Helen worked at the Lee Store in De Pere for 18 years. She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere as well as the Altar Rosary Society. Helen was a very caring person. She devoted many hours to charitable organizations knitting and sewing hats and finger covers for newborns at St. Vincent Hospital. She also volunteered at the De Pere Christian Outreach. Helen created and sewed many teddy bears and hot pads which she donated to church. She was an accomplished seamstress.
    Survivors include her children: Gary J. and Bonnie Paul, Ashwaubenon; Daniel J. and Yvonne Paul, Waunakee; Mary Graves, Green Bay; Robert J. and Joyce Paul, Ledgeview; Kathy and Tim Smits, De Pere; Sue and Marty Valasek, Green Lake; Ann and Todd Jansen, De Pere. Grandchildren: Binky Hamilton, Gary (Donna) Paul Jr.; Heidi (Mike) Radosevich; Bill Paul (fiancé, Kim Malcore); Carmen (Paul) Meyer; Larry (Gayle) Paul; Peter Graves; Timothy (Susan) Graves; Brian (Robin) Paul; Troy (Robin) Paul; Matthew (Jody) Smits; Benjamin (Cher) Smits; Katie (Andy) Porubcan; Sarah Valasek; Christopher Jansen; and Nicholas Jansen. Helen was gifted with 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Helen Rotzenberg.
    Helen was preceded in death by her husband Sylvan and her parents; sisters: Grace and Ruth Rotzenberg, Blanche Berken; brother: Norbert Rotzenberg; brother-in-law Lloyd Berken and son-in-law Fred Graves Jr.
    Family and friends may call at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere on Monday November 10th from 9AM until 10:45AM.     Grace Patricia Rotzenberg died on April 10, 2009 in Lakeland, Florida. She was born April 11, 1920 in Askeaton, Wisconsin to Peter and Louise (Vande Voort) Rotzenberg. She graduated from Wrightstown High School and attended cosmetology school in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Gracie worked for 12 years as a beautician in Green Bay and spent 33 years with NCR Corp in Los Angeles, California. After spending most of her adult life in Los Angeles, she moved to Lakeland, Florida in December 2007. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lakeland.
    She is survived by two sisters; Helen (Mrs. Sylvan) Paul, De Pere, Wisconsin and Blanche (Mrs. Lloyd) Berken, Lakeland, Florida; a sister-in-law Helen (Mrs. Norbert) Rotzenberg, Hales Corners, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews.
    Gracie was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Norbert; her sister, Ruth Ann Rotzenberg; and brothers-in-law, Sylvan Paul and Lloyd Berken.
    A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held at a later date with burial in the family plot in Askeaton.

    Blanche Berken, Lakeland, Florida, a former Appleton resident, passed away suddenly from a stroke on Sunday, November 29,2009. Blanche was born in Askeaton on July 30, 1922, the daughter of the late Peter and Louise (VandeVoort) Rotzenberg. She graduated from Wrightstown High School and married Lloyd Berken on November 22, 1941. Blanche had 8 children, 16 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.
    Blanche was a devout Catholic who loved the Blessed Mother and had a prayer for everything in the world. She loved playing the piano, bingo, dominos and any kind of card game. She was an avid baseball fan and was thrilled to go to a World Series game. She enjoyed living in Florida, volunteering at the nursing home, and making a nice beef roast for her Great Big Beautiful Family.
    Blanche was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Lloyd, her daughter, Patt, daughter-in-law, Jackie, and brother and sisters, Norbert, Ruth and Grace Rotzenberg.
    Blanche is survived by her only son, Peter (Donna Lowe), Appleton; six daughters: Sharon (Bill) Wood, Lafayette, Indiana; Jeannie Berken, Atlanta; Lynda Stack, Sarasota, Florida; Penny (Steven) Forman; Connie (Mike) Cavanagh; and Amy (Joe) Schlosser, all of Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by her sister, Helen Paul. Grandma B. was adored by her 16 grandchildren: Lori (Jim) Bollock, Tammy Wood, Cari McCann, Joelle (Brian) Hamill, Jeffrey Femal, Katie, Sara and Laura Stack, Chris, David (Kelly) and Brad Berken; Chloe Forman, Matt and Nicole Cavanagh and Alex and Hannah Blanche Schlosser. Great-Grandma B. was also cherished by her 12 great-grandchildren: Emily, Casey, and Holly Bollock, Morgan Wood Mantei, Patrick and Brandon McCann, Lauren, Liam and Conner Hamill and Pacey, Erika and Gracie Berken. Blanche will also be missed by many relatives and friends and by her sweet cat, Polly.
    The mass will be 11 a.m. Saturday, December 5, 2009, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1825 N. McDonald Street in Appleton, with Father Gerald Falk officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Wrightstown. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday and again on Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass. There will be a prayer service at the funeral home on Friday at 7 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the school children of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lakeland, Florida.
    Mom B., Grandma B. and Great-Grandma B. made everyone feel valued, respected and important. She will be remembered for her many unique expressions, but mostly for the one that defined her life, fun, fun, fun. She will remain forever 39!

    Zita DeLeers, 83, Green Bay, died Thursday, January 1, 2004, at her home. Born in Askeaton, Wis. on July 16, 1920, she is the daughter of the late John and Bridget Rotzenberg. She graduated from Wrightstown High School and obtained her secretarial degree at the Vocational School in Green Bay.
    Zita married Joseph (Jake) DeLeers on May 1, 1943, at SS. Peter & Paul Church and he preceded her in death on October 30, 1993. Jake and Zita were founders of DeLeers Construction. Zita was a charter member of St. Bernard Parish and member of the Rosary and Altar Society. She played piano by ear and entertained residents at Bornemann Nursing Home.
    Zita devoted her whole life to her children and grandchildren and was an avid Packer fan. Grandma WooWoo will be dearly missed.
    Survived by her children, Jerry (Jeannie) DeLeers and their children, Paul, Jim, Tom and John, Jane (Dr. John) Rank and their children, Dr. Matt (Beth), Joe (Jean), and Peter (fiance, Carrie Franz), Susan (Don) Halloran and their children, Mike and Katie, Philip (Janet) DeLeers and their children, Rob, Luke, Jake and Mike; one sister-in-law, Lillian La Plant of Green Bay; nieces and nephews.

    Ron passed away unexpectedly July 3, 2018 in Mineral Wells, Texas in the company of his children. Ron was born in Askeaton, Wisconsin to Roy and Elizabeth (Bess Derus) on February 13, 1931. Ron attended Askeaton Grade School, Wrightstown High School and Fox Valley Technical College where he studied Interior Design.
    In his youth, Ron worked in the family construction business, Winkler and Sons. He later started his own interior decorating business. Ron believed that entrepreneurship was a way to dedicate more time to his family, which he valued more than anything.
    Ron had an appreciation for life. He had a quiet strength and integrity and was content with his life. His giant personality, pure honesty and good humor, along with his love of Harley Davidsons made him a friend to everyone he met. He always welcomed any stranger into his home including many furry friends over the years.
    Ron is survived by his children: Debbie (Winkler) Haynes, Andre Winkler, Gregory Winkler, Laurie (Winkler) Watson, Allen Winkler, Allison (Winkler) Henderson and step-son, John Nelson. He is also survived by his sister, Sheri (Winkler) Lamers and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ron is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Elizabeth Winkler, sister Donna (Winkler) Gussert, Brother-in-Law's, Clarence Lamers, Conrad Gussert and his step-son, Gene Siebers.
    Ron's ashes will be interred in the family plot at Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Askeaton, Wisconsin on July 21st at 11AM. Friends and family who remember Ron are welcome to come to the graveside service to celebrate his life.

    Joan Casperson, age 77, died on Wednesday, November 10, 2010, at Theda Clark Medical Center. She was born January 6, 1933, in Appleton, daughter of the late Emmet and Mary (Rotzenberg) Kavanaugh. Joan attended St. Mary's Grade School and was a 1951 graduate of Kaukauna High School. She worked at Home Mutual and many years at Giddings & Lewis in Kaukauna. Joan enjoyed summer vacations at her cottage in Door County. She loved all sports especially the Packers and Badgers.
    She is survived by her brother, Ken Kavanaugh; Goddaughter and niece, Heather Kavanaugh; sister-in-law, Shirley Kavanaugh; nieces: Dawn Blixt and Brenda Kavanaugh; Godson and nephew, Shawn (Lois) Kavanaugh, and other cousins, family and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Patrick Kavanaugh and sister-in-law, Jill Kavanaugh.
    The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 2010, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at ST. MARY SITE, 119 West Seventh St., Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors and Msgr. Mark Schommer concelebrating the mass. Friends will be received directly at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund for Kaukauna Catholic School System is being established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 920-766-2099.

    Patrick E. Kavanaugh, "Pat," Appleton, age 71 years, died peacefully on Thursday, May 24, 2007, at Appleton Medical Center, from complications of diabetes. He was born June 4, 1935, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Appleton, and was the son of the late Emmet J. and Mary (Rotzenberg) Kavanaugh. Pat was united in marriage to Shirley Mader on August 25, 1962, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kaukauna, sharing 44 years together. He graduated from Kaukauna High School (Class of 1953) and was proud of being on the 1953 State Championship Baseball Team. Pat was employed at Riverside Paper, Appleton, for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He served with the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960. He was a member of St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, Appleton, and a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid sports fan of the Packers and Brewers. He enjoyed eating out at Dick & Joan's.
    Survivors include his wife, Shirley; three children; Dawn Blixt, Darboy; Shawn (Lois) Kavanaugh, Menasha; Brenda Kavanaugh, Appleton; grandchildren: Stephanie Blixt, Erin and Jared Kavanaugh; a sister, Joan Casperson, Kaukauna, a brother, Ken Kavanaugh, Kaukauna; brothers in law: John (Barb) Mader, Racine; Dave (Revana) Mader, Appleton and nephews, nieces and cousins.
    Pat was preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law, Jill Kavanaugh.
    The Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, May 28, 2007, at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church, 1810 North McDonald St., Appleton, with Rev. Gerald Falk officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established.

    Thomas Lesselyong, 77, passed away on Saturday morning, June 30, 2007, surrounded by his loving family. Tom was born Dec. 6, 1929, in Cuyahoga County, Ohio. Tom served five years in the United States Marine Corps and was a decorated veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a founding board member of the sheltered activity center and was on the board of directors of the local United Way for several years and served as president in 1987. For a number of years, he helped develop vocational rehabilitation programs as a member of the Governors task force. He was also an officer and district director of the Wisconsin Association of Nursing Homes for many years.
    Tom was a partner in the development of Parkside Care Center in Little Chute, Wis. and served as its Administrator and Vice President from its opening in 1974, until his retirement in 1991. Tom spent much of his free time with his family, as well as in the outdoors: hunting, fishing, and trapping. He looked forward to his annual trip to Montana to enjoy many of those activities. In his later years, Tom enjoyed volunteering his time to the Wisconsin Trappers Association and was especially proud of his service to this country. He was married to Donna (Liebergen) in Appleton on April 25, 1959, she survives. He is also survived by six children, Mark (Lisa), John, Sue, Jim, Patti (Scott Pagel) and Mike (Heidi). He is further survived by grandchildren, Jason, Nicole, Calvin, Maggie, Ryne, Morgan, Jennifer, Owen, and one great-grandchild, Gaige. He is further survived by a brother, Perry.
    He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Tony and Ludmilla Wonders; as well as his father, Floyd (Perry) Lesselyong.
    Funeral services for Tom will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on July 3, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home on July 2, 2007.
    The family would like to express their thanks to the Hospice nursing staff.
