    Marcks, Sibyl M.Sibyl M. Marcks, 90, Shiocton, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday July 2 9, 2006, at New London family Medical Center. She was born on March 26, 19 16, in the Town of Deer Creek, daughter of the late Noah and Louise (Lorg e) Suprise. Sibyl married Lyndon "Bud" Marcks in 1938 in the Village of Sh iocton, where they lived and farmed all their lives. She graduated wi th a Bachelor of Science degree in Upper Elementary Education from the Uni versity of Wisconsin Oshkosh in 1967. She taught for 38 years at Countrysi de School and Shiocton Elementary School until her retirement in Octob er of 1979. Sibyl was a life long member of St. Denis Catholic Church, Shi octon. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and all of h er many students throughout the years; also watching the Green Bay Packe rs and reading.Sibyl is survived by her children: Gary (Linda) Marcks, Dean (Barb) Marck s, both of Shiocton. Her grandchildren Kevin (Angela) Marcks, Seymour, Ren ee (Randy) Zirpel, Menasha, Jason Marcks, Colorado, Lyndon J. Marcks, Shio cton and Fred Marcks, Shiocton. Great grandchildren Amber and Kyle Marc ks and Riley Zirpel.     Lorraine M. Van Straten, of Shiocton, age 87, passed away on Wednesday, October 17, 2007, at Kindred Hearts in New London. Lorraine was born in the Deer Creek Township on February 9, 1920, daughter of the late Noah and Louise (Lorge) Surprise. She lived in Shiocton and was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church. Lorraine married Gordon Riehl in 1939. He preceded her in death in 1977. In January of 1983, she married Dale Van Straten. He preceded her in death in 2000. She was employed by the Shiocton Kraut Factory for 15 years and retired from Voith Fabrics in Appleton.
    Lorraine is survived by two sons: Glenn (Marion) Riehl, Shiocton and Kieth (Kris) Riehl, Shiocton; a daughter-in-law, Loretta (Len) Bellile; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Besides her parents and husbands, Lorraine is preceded in death by three sisters, a brother, a son Ralph, a daughter Suzanne Roloff, a daughter-in-law Karen Riehl, and a grandson Jessie Joe Griesbach.
    A special thank you to Bill and Cheryl Van Straten for the company they gave Lorraine and also a very special thank you to Heartland Hospice and especially to the staff at Kindred Hearts.
    Funeral services for Lorraine will be held on Monday, October 22, 2007, at 11 a.m. at St. Denis Catholic Church, Shiocton. Entombment will be in the Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

    Obituary:
    Kenneth F. Suprise of Hortonville, 81, passed away on Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at New London Family Medical Center. Ken was born on May 13, 1923, in Bear Creek son of the late Frank and Mae (Roberts) Suprise. He was united in marriage on May 29, 1946, to Margaret Jamison at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville. Ken served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He worked for Miron Construction for over forty years and also at Griesbach Chevrolet Garage in Hortonville for 28 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion Hammond-Schmit Post #55 of Hortonville for many years. Ken served as a director at the New London Fish and Game Club. He was a member of the Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville. He enjoyed his grandchildren, gardening and hunting.
    Ken is survived by his wife, Margaret; three daughters, Pat Trittin, Kimberly; Sandra (Larry) Griesbach, Mackville; Margene (Larry) Fassbender, Greenville; two sons, Ron (Estela) Suprise and Tim (Poly) Suprise both of McAllen Texas; Grandchildren, Daisy (Victor) Soliz, Rene Suprise, Mike (Lisa) Fassbender, Michelle Fassbender, Mark Suprise, Bryan Suprise, Kelly Griesbach (fiance Dan Larscheid), Kevin Griesbach, Shelly Trittin (fiance Chuck Zacharias); step grandchildren, Pam (Xavier) Menendez-Pidal-Trittin, Tina (Jacob) Wilcock; three great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.     He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Frank Jr. and Lorenzle; two sisters Barbara Fickel, Hilda (Ed) Katzner; and brother?s in-law, Francis Jamison and Vernon Voster and a son in-law Rick Trittin.
    Funeral services for Ken will be held on Monday Feb. 28, 2005 at 11a.m. at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
    A memorial fund has been established. The family would like to thank Dr. Fuhrmann and his staff and also the staff at the New London Family Medical Center for their care and concern of Ken.

    Neal N. Suprise, age 71, of W7454 Mills St., Town of Wescott, Shawano, went with our Heavenly Father on Monday, July 11, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer.
    Survivors include his wife Bonnie, Town of Wescott; two sons: Billy (Rowena) and Brian (Kathy) Suprise, both of Shawano; four grandchildren: Willam and Jennifer Suprise, Ryan (Lori) Forbey and Jeremy Forbey; his great-grandchildren: Gerritt and Christa Forbey, all of Shawano; a brother, Dale (Caroline) Suprise, New London; three sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends locally and in Aruba; and his special neighbors, Harry and Wilma Beilfuss.

    Glenn J. Riehl, age 72, died suddenly on Friday, October 28, 2016. Glenn was born on April 25, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Gordon and Lorraine Riehl. He lived in Shiocton all his life. Glenn served three years in the Army, if it had wheels, he could drive it. He then spent the majority of his working career at Appvion (formerly Appleton Papers). Glenn was united in marriage to Karen Samuel in September of 1966. She preceded him in death in June of 1988. Glenn was united in marriage to Marion Tyrrell on May 4, 1991 and they celebrated 25 years of marriage.
    Glenn enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing with Tiger, watching the Badgers, Brewers and Packers, snowmobiling and NASCAR, although it was never the same for him after #3 left the race. He enjoyed working for and attending the Shiocton Fly-In. He was proud of his family, especially his grandchildren, his lawn and his meticulously organized garage.
    In his younger years Glenn enjoyed fast pitch softball, fishing (aka violating), bowling, playing cards, camping at Kastle Kampground and hunting at the Boar's Nest.

    Jerry was born on July 24, 1949 to Laronzle "Larry" and Anna (Jamison) Suprise. He was always a happy go lucky guy and would always greet you with a hand shake and a smile. Jerry liked watching movies especially westerns and football. His favorite color was yellow and he loved going to the activities that Brewster Village provided.

    Steven D. Suprise "Mooey", age 58, New London, died at his residence, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Tuesday morning, November 26, 2013.
    Steve was born in New London, Wisconsin on April 18, 1955, the son of Dale and Caroline (Drath) Suprise. He was baptized at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London and confirmed at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bear Creek. He attended New London High School, graduating in 1973. Following high school Steve attended Fox Valley Technical College studying Industrial Automation. For 39 ½ years Steve was employed by Neenah Foundry as a Maintenance Electrician. On June 7, 2003, he was united in marriage to Theresa Petit in Medina.
    Steve was an extremely hard worker, enjoyed reading, watching sci-fi and fantasy films, camping, fishing, attending Country USA and rooting for his favorite teams: the Packers, Brewers, and Timber Rattlers. He will be remembered for his love of texting and Facebook, but most of all, spending time with his family and grandchildren. Steve's greatest passion in life was the love for his grandchildren.
