    Obituary:
Sandra "Bunny" Van Cuyk, age 74, of Hilbert, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
Bunny was born on April 7, 1942 in Hilbert, daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Malamphy) Vollmer. She was a graduate of Hilbert High School and was a proud supporter of the Hilbert Wolves. On September 28, 1963, she married Gerald "Jerry" Van Cuyk. Once her kids were all in school, she joined the working world until retirement from Thiel Cheese in 2014. Her passion in life was to help all others before herself. This included the caring for her sister Chickie for many years. Chickie was the Shamrock in her eyes and the joy in her heart . Bunny also would visit nursing homes and assisted living centers, making meals for families, and volunteering at the New Hope Center. She loved to dress in her Easter Bunny suit for the Easter holiday and hop around spreading Easter cheer to all. Bunny was very proud of her Irish Heritage and shared it with friends and family throughout the years. She also enjoyed watching the Golden Girls and game shows. Spending time with Jerry going on bus trips, Packer games, and being at their Cabin in Mountain were a few of her favorite things to do. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and snowmobiling with Jerry and their friends and going to Country Music Festivals with her daughters.
Bunny is survived by her husband of 52 years, Jerry; their daughters: Doreen (Tim) Kleist, Connie (Doug) Daniels, Kris (Randy) Baeten, and Pam Van Cuyk; 8 grandchildren: Chad Kleist and fiancée Julie, Ben (Courtney) Kleist, Cassie Kleist and special friend Luke, Daryl Kleist, Jessica (John) Westphal, Justin Schmitt, Michael (Genna) Schmitt, Stephanie Baeten, Rachel Baeten, and Jerin Van Cuyk; 4 great-grandchildren: Christopher, Chase, Mazzie, and Dechlan; one sister and brother-in-law: Margie (Bob) Gosz; one brother and sister-in-law: Robert (Julie) Vollmer; two brothers-in-law: Casey (Elaine) Van Cuyk and Leroy Van Cuyk and special friend Ruth; three sisters-in-law: Jo Ann (Vern) Roepcke, Rosie Thiel, and Mary (Dennis) Arts; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Carmen and Colleen "Chickie" Vollmer, in-laws: Francis Van Cuyk and Bob Thiel, and other relatives.
Funeral Mass will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial is Rev. Timothy Brandt. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hilbert.
Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Nurses and Staff of St. Elizabeth's 2nd floor ICU and Critical Care Units. They treated her like they would their own mother, with respect and dignity. We would also like to thank Calumet County Hospice for helping us with her last request of being home surrounded by family during her final hours.
Until we meet again mom we love you!!! Jerry, Doreen, Connie, Kris & Pam

    Notes:

    Obituary:
Colleen "Chickie" Lynn Vollmer, guided by the angels, Chickie danced her way into heaven on Monday, November 29, 2010. Chickie was born Colleen Lynn Vollmer on January 5, 1952, daughter of the late Bill and Dorothy (Malamphy) Vollmer. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hilbert, where she was baptized, received first Holy Communion, and was confirmed. She attended rural school in Brant with Mrs. Rosemary Fox as her teacher. She then attended New Hope Center, Chilton. She loved biking around the block on her three wheeler. Most of all, Chickie loved to dance. After she lost the use of her legs though, she also lost many of the things she enjoyed. But never one to complain, life went on just like before. She still giggled and laughed, and teased anyone who would spend time with her. As Chickie grew older and more tired, she still watched for and enjoyed the company of anyone who came to visit. She spent much of her time doing puzzles, latch hook, coloring, and made many pot holders. Many of us have stained glass murals in our windows that she painted for us and are still using the pot holders she made for us. Chickie had a good outlook on life, despite the many difficulties she had to endure. There was always a smile for each of us and a "Ya Hi" to anyone who stopped to talk to her. There isn't a family member who didn't know the loving pat on the butt they got as they passed by her and the giggle that followed.
Chickie is survived by her brother: Bob (Julie) Vollmer and their family, her sister: Margie (Bob) Gosz and their family, and her sister: Bunny (Jerry) Van Cuyk and their family, her godmother: Arlyne Sielaff Frank, and many cousins and caring friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister: Carmen in 1957, grandparents: John and Mary Vollmer and John and Tillie Malamphy, godfather: Howie Sielaff, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Also preceding Chickie in death was a very special friend: Cora Van Cuyk, who treated Chickie like one of her own.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 3, 2010 at NOON at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert. Father Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery in Hilbert. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass. The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be made at www.wieting-funeralhome.com.
The family would like to thank everyone who helped with Chickie throughout her lifetime: Dr. Brian Scott, Dr. Fx VanLieshout, Dr. Sid Schultz D.D.S., Fran and Pete, just to name a few of the many. We also want to especially thank her Caregivers of Chilton: Dorothy, Linda, Kelly, and Lorie. We also wish to thank her many nurses: Carol, Amy, Faye, Sandy, Karen, Dalia, and especially Chris Davisson, who was gentle and loving to Chickie. Through many rough situations, she held Chickie, and soothed her worries away. If we missed anyone, please know that you are thanked from the bottom of our hearts.
A memorial in Chickie's honor will be given to the Hilbert/Potter First Responders. You were always there for us and very considerate of the situation. You treated Chickie with respect and dignity. Thank you.
