    Leona Krueger, 100, De Pere, died early Friday morning, Dec. 11, 2009. The daughter of the late John and Annie (Schampers) Smits was born Nov. 2, 1909. She was a lifelong resident of De Pere.
    On Nov. 26, 1933, she married Irvin Krueger at St. Boniface Church, De Pere, WI. He preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1959. Leona worked for St. Norbert College in the Sensenbrenner Memorial Union for 35 years, retiring in May 1993. She enjoyed playing cards with her many friends and also bingo.
    Survivors include two sons Gerald and Robert (Julie), one daughter, Jean (Chuck) Ritz, two grandchildren Curt (Kathy) Ritz and Michelle (jeremy) Harnish, and six great-grandchildren, Abigail, Joshua, Jason, Charles, Miles, Jeremyah. Leona is further survived by brother-in-law Elton Krueger and by many nieces and nephews.
    Leona was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters, Ceil (Elmer) McVey, Lillian (Harvey) Leloo, Regina (Tony) Minten, and two brothers Norbert (Cecile) Smits, Marvin (Gertrude) Smits.
    Friends may call at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Drive in De Pere after 9 a.m. Monday until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. with her nephew Fr. Ken Smits, O.F.M. CAP, officiating and Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem, concelebrating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

    Gerald "Jerry" Krueger, 76, West De Pere, died Saturday, November 7, 2015 at a local hospital. Jerry was born in West De Pere on April 12, 1939 a son of the late Irvin and Leona (Smits) Krueger. He was a graduate of Nicolet High School. Jerry worked for and proudly retired from the city of De Pere in the Street Department. He was a great jokester with his goofy pranks, enjoyed bowling and golfing, and he really loved his local cruising in the 1956 T-Bird. Jerry is survived by his sister Jean Ritz of Ashwaubenon; brother Robert (Julie) Krueger of Hobart; nephew Kurt (Kathy) Ritz of Texas; niece Michele (Jeremy) Harnish of California; 8 grandnieces and grandnephews; cousins; and Jerry's second family: Hank (Mary) Secor and their children Dave, Kim, and Jim. He was preceded in death by his parents Irvin and Leona; brother-in-law Charles Ritz; aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family and friends may visit from 9:00 to 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, 1307 Lourdes Ave., De Pere. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM with Fr. Tim Shillcox, O. Praem. officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, West De Pere.
