    MILITARY RITES HELD AT KIMBERLY
    Legion Services Conducted Monday Morning for Henry VanLaarhoven
    Special to Post-Crescent Kimberly - Military funeral servces for Henry Van Laarhoven, who died Thursday evening as the result of injuries received a month ago when he was hit by a Thilmany Pulp and Paper company truck on highway 41 near the Little Chute ice house, were held at' 10 o'clock Monday morning from Holy Name Catholic church of this village. The col- ors were displayed at the house and church and the body escorted to the cemetery by the color guard, a firing squad consisting of all Legion members, and the clergy. Dr. B. Oullette, Chaplin of American Legion Post Co. 60, read prayers over the grave and the firing squad fired three rounds of shots, and the buglers sounded taps. The body was taken to the receiving vault of Riverside cemetery, Appleton. Besides being a member of the American Legion Mr. Van Laarhoven belonged to the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin. Funeral services were read by the Rev. F. X. Van Nistleroy. Legionaire pall bearers for Mr. Van Laarhoven were Joseph Dietzen. John Schumacher, Carl Rehfeldt. Frank Courchane, Bob Laut, and William, Schmuacher. Surivivors of Mrs. Van Laarhoven are his widow, one son, Joseph: one daughter, Bernice; father, Cornelius Van Laarhoven of Kaukauna; and six brothers, John and Johannes of Kaukauna; Antone of Madison: Peter of Black Creek; Theodore of Iron Mountain, and Martin of Medford. Those from out of town who at- tended the funeral are Mr. and Mr J. Peters Sr., of Forest Junction. Mr. and Mrs. J. Tennessen of Sherwood, Mr. and Mrs. A. Geritts of Dundas, Mr. and Mrs. J. Peters Jr., of Forest Junction. Mr. and Mrs. J. Spranger of Dundas, Mr. and Mrs. T. Van Laarhoven of Iron Mountain, Mr and Mrs. A. Van Laarhoven Madison. Mr. and Mrs. M. Van Laarhovcn of Medford. and John Johannes. and Cornelius Van Laar hoven of Kaukauna.

    Bernice Rose Geiger, age 89, passed away on December 14, 2013. Born July 16, 1924, to the late Henry and Marie Van Laarhoven. Bernice worked at St. Elizabeth's hospital for many years as an assistant care-giver for those in need. She was an active parishioner at St. Edward Catholic Church, and was integral to many parish activities and organizations.
    Bernice is survived by her three children and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters.
    A funeral liturgy for Bernice will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at ST. EDWARD CATHOLIC CHURCH (Hwy 47 N., Mackville). Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Edward Catholic Church. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
    May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. May the rain fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.
