    Mrs. John Kneepkens (Martina Van Beek) 126 South Birch St., Kimberly Age 81, died at 10 p.m. Thursday at her home following a short illness. She was born May 6, 1894 in Holland anc had lived in the Kimberly area all of her life. She was a member of the Christian Mothers of Holy Name Catholic Church. The survivors are her husband. John; four daughters, Mrs. Vincent (Joan) Burgess of Appleton. Mrs. Francis (Marie) Harley of Green Bay, Mrs. Eton (Josephine) Courchane of Rockford. III., Mrs. Phil (Bernadette) Bouressa of Kimberly; five sons, John of San Rafael. California, Al of Kimberly, Augie and Sylvester of Kaukauna, and Donald of Neenah, a sister, Mrs. Frank Roovers of Kaukauna, 23 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10-30 a m Saturday at Holy Name Catholic Church in Kimberly with the Rev. Ronald Hofensperger officiating.     Obituary:
    Alphonse J. Kneepkens, 90, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Appleton Medical Center with family at his side. Al was born on Feb. 17, 1925, to Martina and John Kneepkens. He was a lifelong resident of Kimberly, Wisconsin. Al graduated from Kimberly High School in 1942. On June 18, 1947, Al married the love of his life, Dorothy Mae (Kramer) Kneepkens at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. They were married for 65 years until her passing.
    When Al was a young man, he had many summer jobs: He drove a truck for the Village of Kimberly, served as a clerk at Verhagen Hardware Store, picked cherries in Door County and worked for a barnstorming company. Al enlisted in the service at age 18 and served in World War II for three years. He was awarded the Purple Heart. For 40 years, he worked at Appleton Coated, retiring in 1987.
    Al enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, making homemade candies and confections, and maintaining his immaculate yard full of beautiful flowers. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, a caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a loyal friend and neighbor. Al was gentle and kind, with a wonderful sense of humor. He had a magnetic smile and was a gifted storyteller. He was generous and giving, thoughtful and selfless. Al was an extremely proud World War II Army veteran. In 2011, he traveled to Washington, D.C., with the Old Glory Honor Flight program to visit the memorial built to honor World War II veterans.
    Al's pride and joy was his family, and he cherished spending time with each and every family member. He is survived by his son, Mark Kneepkens of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; his daughter, Nancy (Mary Ann Chap) Kneepkens of North Carolina; three granddaughters: Katie (Zach) Espinosa, Kristi (Matt) Ansley and Angie (Matt) Moore; grandson Michael Kneepkens; and four great-grandchildren: Addison, Elliott and Carolyn Ansley, and McCoy Moore. He also is survived by four brothers and sisters (Josephine, John, Don and Birdie). Al was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and sisters (Joane, Marie, Augie and Sonny), daughter-in-law Mary (Schmalz) Kneepkens and his beloved wife, Dorothy Mae.
    The family would especially like to acknowledge Al's Kimberly "family," special neighbors and friends Pat and Mike Sexton, Peggy and Elmer Eiting, and Nancy and Larry Gloudeman for all of their care and compassion over the years.
    A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at the JANSEN FARGO FUNERAL HOME, 204 E. Kimberly Ave., Kimberly, Wisconsin. The visitation and celebration of Al Kneepkens' life will begin at 11 a.m.

    Kneepkens, August M. "Augie"
    August Kneepkens, 81, Kaukauna, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2009, at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. Augie was born in Kimberly, on April 1, 1927, son of the late John and Martina (Van Beek) Kneepkens. On Oct. 30, 1948, he married the former Margaret Mahn in Kimberly, and she survives. For most of his working years, Augie was employed at Thilmany Pulp and Paper in Kaukauna.
    Augie enjoyed his garden at home and always harvested wonderful vegetables, fruits and berries. He also loved fishing, even if he didn't always bring something home. Throughout his years, he enjoyed traveling with his family, seeing the sights around the country. Augie will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed tickling everyone's funny bone. All that knew him enjoyed his sense of humor and quick wit - it will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
    Augie is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Kneepkens, Kaukauna; three children, Robert (Susan) Kneepkens, Neenah; Karlyn (Kenneth) Saffran, Appleton; and Susan (Bruce) Kritz, Blythewood, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Karl Saffran, Katie Saffran, Kimberly Kneepkens, Denise (Nick) Lievano, Kevin Schwarzbauer and Michael Schwarzbauer; three brothers, Alfonse (Dorothy Mae) Kneepkens, Kimberly; John (June) Kneepkens, Washington; and Donald (Jean) Kneepkens, Michigan; two sisters, Josephine Courchane, Rockford, Ill.; and Bernadette (Phil) Bouressa, Kimberly; and a sister-in-law, Beverly Kneepkens, Kimberly.
    Augie was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Sylvester Kneepkens; and sisters, Marie (Francis) Harley and Joann (Vincent) Burgess.
    The funeral service for August will be held in the Chapel of St. Paul Home, 316 E. 14th Street Street, Kaukauna, at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2009. The Rev. Walter Steinbach of Bethany Lutheran Church will conduct the service. Friends may call at the St. Paul Home Chapel on Monday from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of the service.
    The family would like to thank Sr. Dorothy and everyone at St. Paul Home for the wonderful care that Augie received during his stay. The staff on Poppy Path made him feel so much at home. Your kindness and love will never be forgotten.
    Augie loved you all so much. He even had a little sign in his room to help him remember you all. It read: Blessed are they who ease the days in loving ways on my journey home.

    Obituary:
    Kneepkens, Michael - Passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2017 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mike was born on November 21, 1958 in Munising MI to Donald and Jean Kneepkens. He was raised in Neenah, WI, attended St Margaret Mary Grade School and graduated from St. Mary's Central High School in 1976.
    Mike is survived by his sons Christopher and Michael Kneepkens of Tempe, AZ, his father Donald, Kalamazoo, MI; sister Susan (Ernie) Strom, Duluth, MN; and brothers Jon (Sandy), Kalamazoo, MI; James, Corona, CA; Donald Jr. (Elizabeth), Duluth, MN; and Steven (Brenda), Fairfield, CA. He is proceeded in death by his mother, Jean, and a nephew, Parker. Mike will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
    Mike was a talented musician, magician, bartender, athlete and gardener. However the center of his world was his sons. No distance was too far for Mike to share his love for his boys. He was a passionate father, son and brother.
    A memorial service for the family is being planned at a later date.
