Dahlin, Kathy (Nee: Coonen) 306 W. Wisconsin Ave.
Kaukauna Age 41, joined Lord in harmony October 12, 2001 after a courageous and inspiring 14-month battle with cancer. This amazing mother, wife, daughter, s ister and friend died at home in her mother's arms, surrounded by the lo ve of her husband and family. Kathy was born May 10, 1960, attended Holy C ross Grade School, Kaukauna High School, and the University of Wisconsin-E au Claire. On December 30, 1993, she married long-time friend, Mark Dahli n. Three years later, they were blessed with the precious gift of their li ttle daughter, Mackenzie. Kathy was employed at St. Elizabeth Hospital unt il she chose to become a full-time mom.Kathy's spirit and enthusiasm for living brilliantly shined through the ca ncer in so many simple and powerful ways. Recently, she fulfilled a wi sh of hers by taking Mackenzie to Disney World in May with her husband. Ka thy celebrated life through her music. Particularly, she shared her gre at love of sacred music through her dedication and commitment to music min istry. At Holy Cross Parish she served over 20 years as cantor, soloist, i nstrumentalist and member of the Celebrator Choir. In keeping her music al ive, Kathy and her family created a CD recorded in September, which featur es mom and Mackenzie singing "On Eagles Wings."Kathy will forever live in the hearts of her husband, Mark, and daughte r, Mackenzie; mother, Marilyn Coonen, and father, Robert H. (Bonnie) Coone n; her sister and best friend, Karen (Tom) Lenz; brothers Kevin (Nancy) Co onen, Ken (Lori) Coonen, and Kory Coonen. Mark's father, Mark Dahlin Sr ., and sisters-in-law Peggy Dahlin and Joellyn Dahlin. She is also surviv ed by her godparents Donna Hoffman, and Arnold (Jeanette) Coonen, many nie ces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful friends.Kathy's song of life will live on in each and every one of our heart s, as we all have been touched in a unique and special way.With a faith-filled heart and the help from her aunt and mentor, Kathryn A nn Weyenberg, Kathy planned her entire funeral.The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, at Holy Cross C atholic Church, Kaukauna, with Father Jack Mullarkey officiating. Burial w ill be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call at Boettcher Fam ily Funeral Home, Kaukauna, from 4-8 p.m. Monday and after 3 p.m. Tuesd ay at church until time of services. A parish prayer service wi ll be at 7 p.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been establ ished.Kathy, you are not just my daughter, but a dear friend. I will always reme mber the smile on your face with a song in my heart. Thanks for the memori es. Mom.
