Hockers, Florence
Florence Hockers, 90, of De Pere, passed away Tuesday evening Aug. 23, 2011, at a local nursing home. The daughter of the late Frank and Nellie (Gossen) Andriansen, was born Apr. 14, 1921, in De Pere. On May 2, 1938, she married Urban Hockers at St. Mary Church, De Pere. He preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 1992. Florence had been a nurse for many years. She worked at Bellin Hospital and later took care of her husband, Urban for seven years. She liked to work with flowers and enjoyed wildlife. She will be fondly remembered for feeding the geese and ducks at Voyageur Park.
Survivors include one brother-in-law, Lawrence Lacenski, nieces and nephews, including her special niece Marian Kiley and a great-niece, Nancy Malewiski. She was preceded in death by her husband, and her brother Lester and one sister, Lois Lacenski.
Family and friends may call at St. Mary Catholic Church, 4805 Sportsman Road, Town of Ledgeview, from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, 2011. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6 p.m. Friday at the Church with Father Richard Getchel, officiating. Burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, De Pere.
