    Linus Vanderloop of Hollandtown became the 1958 king of the Hollandtown Schut Sunday morning as he shot down the last of the bird on the 909th shot of the session. He succeeds Dick Benzschawel of Greenleaf the winner of the 1957 Schut.

    Obituary:
    Linus Vanderloop, Town of Holland, age 87 died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 30, 2017 while walking through the woods and fields of his Town of Askeaton farm, his favorite place. He was born on October 26, 1929 in the Town of Holland, WI son of the late Richard and Leona (Brochtrup) Vanderloop. On January 3, 1951 Linus married Gloria Brochtrup at St. Francis Church in Hollandtown. The ceremony was presided by her brother Fr. Eugene Brochtrup. Together they celebrated 63 years of marriage prior to her death on September 26, 2014. Linus was very involved in his community and church. He was a volunteer on the Hollandtown Fire Dept., past president of the Schut Society and two time Schut King. He was a director on the Forest Junction State Bank, was a licensed Realtor, was President 1969-70 Nat'l Hay Association, 1991 Haymaker of the year, and the Chairman of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture Hay Advisory Council. At his church (St. Francis Hollantown) he was a charter member of the men's choir and president of St. Francis School Board. Linus loved nature and was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed hunting and being outdoors.
    He is survived by his children: Gerald (Lynn Blackwell) Vanderloop, Debra Kay (Steven) Kessler, Cynthia Marie (David) Luedtke, and Andrew (the late Sandra) Vanderloop; 11 grandchildren: Jeremy (Rebecca) Vanderloop, Anna (Anthony) Warpinski, George Vanderloop, Sarah Kessler, Richard Kessler, Matthew Luedtke, Hannah Luedtke, Jacob Vanderloop, Seth Vanderloop, Caleb Vanderloop and Ian Vanderloop; 7 great-grandchildren: Helen, Katherine, John "Jack", Madeline, Elijah, Francesca and Brent; sisters: Carol VanZeeland, Mary Anne (Cletus) Feldkamp and sisters-in-law, Pat Vanderloop and Shirley Vanderloop; brothers: Daniel (Toni) Vanderloop and Paul (Wilma) Vanderloop; He is further survived by his wife's family: Sr. Anne Brochtrup, Carlos Brochtrup and Isabelle Brochtrup.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gloria, a son Billy, a daughter Mary Carla, a daughter-in-law, Sandra Ann Vanderloop; a great-grandson, Linus; brothers: Leon Vanderloop, and Allen Vanderloop; sisters: Grace (Hugo) Vandeyacht and Linda Vanderloop; brother-in-law, John VanZeeland. He is further preceded in death by his wife's family: Fr. Eugene Brochtrup, Roland Brochtrup and Leo (Gladys) Haen.
    Funeral services for Linus will be at 12 Noon on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at ST. FRANCIS CHURCH, Hollandtown (St. Katharine Drexel Parish) with Fr. Jerry Pastors and Fr.
