    Daniel J. VanLanen, 54, W2090 Cty. Road HR, Brillion, died on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, at his home with his family at his side. He was born on Nov. 18, 1953, in Green Bay, son of Margaret VanLanen and the late Fredrick VanLanen. He married Donna Micke on Sept. 15, 1979, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown. Dan worked at the Brillion Iron Works for 36 years. He loved being out in the woods, hunting, his dogs, his BIW co-workers and most of all, his family. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Brillion and the Brillion Conservation Club.
    Survivors include his wife, Donna; his children, Christopher, Lindsey, Gregory and special friend, Sara Eickert, all of Brillion; his mother, Margaret VanLanen, Appleton; a sister, Margie (Mel) O'Hearn, Appleton; and a brother, Doug, Brillion.
    Dan was preceded in death by his father, Fredrick; and a sister, Patty.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2008, at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1100 W. Ryan St. in Brillion. The Rev. Mathew Simonar will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Brillion. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 3:30 p.m. until the time of mass.
    The Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the VanLanen family with arrangements.
