    Obituary:
    Marvin Knorr, age 88, of Appleton, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at Heartwood Homes. He was born on July 17, 1924, in the Town of Bovina, the son of the late August and Clara (Tetzlaff) Knorr. On April 1947, Marvin married Janice Fink, they divorced in 1954. On October 8, 1960, Marvin married Betty Kubitz, who preceded him in death on October 25, 2000. Marvin and Ginnie Hoium married in November of 2001 and she preceded him in death in 2005. He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ of Appleton, Appleton Masonic Lodge #349, Scottish Rite Valley of Green Bay, Beja Shrine Temple, and the Appleton Shrine Club. Marvin farmed in Black Creek, prior to working for 25 years at American Can. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and a dedicated Shriner for many years!
    He is survived by his daughter: Sherryl (Robert) Breimeier, Chesterfield, Missouri; grandson: Russ (Leslie) Breimeier, Naperville, Illinois; grandson-in-law: Cory Burnett, Indianapolis, Indiana; great granddaughter: Casey Burnett; and a special friend: Eloyce Jencks, Appleton. Marvin is further survived by nieces: Clarica Erickson, Green Bay; Barbara (Dale) Knaack, Neenah; nephew: Bill (Kris) Foth, Appleton, and other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his sister, Lenora (Elmer) Sachs; brother, Raymond Knorr; sister-in-law, Elaine (Ronald) Foth; granddaughter, Laurie Breimeier Burnett.
    A spring committal service for Marvin will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton. Rev. Jane Anderson will be officiating. Memorials are appreciated for the Shrine Hospital. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.

    Obituary:
    Merlin W. Knorr, age 83, died unexpectedly, Monday January 24, 2011, at his home. Merlin was born on October 13, 1928, in the Town of Bovina (Outagamie County), son of the late Herman and Anna (Tilly) Knorr. In June of 1951, he was united in marriage to Kathleen Artz. He was a life time resident of the Shiocton area and farmed for most of his life. Merlin was a member of the Town Board and served on ASC Board a number of years. He plowed snow for over 20 years. Merlin enjoyed hunting, fishing, card playing, and golfing; he loved sharing these activities with family and good friends. He especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren.
    Merlin is survived by his wife, Kathleen; four sons, Ken (Cheryl) Shiocton; Robert (Lynn), Clintonville; Vern (Shirley), Colorado; and Steve (Carla), Shiocton. Seven grandchildren: Andrew, Mathew, Brian, Timothy, Debra, Paige, and Chelsi. Numerous other relatives and friends further survive him.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Norm, Clarence and Harold, a sister, Helen and a granddaughter, Jennifer.
    Funeral services for Merlin will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

    Earl proudly served his country in the United States Army, in the 101st Airborne Division -Glider Infantry and was part of the June 6th Invasion of Normandy. Earl was wounded after six days of combat. He lay on the battlefield overnight among the dead comrades and was found the next morning. He spent 18 months in VA hospitals recovering from wounds. He earned a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his valor.
