    Obituary:
    Dallas G. Schwalenberg, age 69, of Potter, died unexpectedly, on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton. He was born April 3, 1939, in Appleton, son of the late Armand & LaVerna (Hillmann) Schwalenberg. He married Mary G. Gradinjan on January 20, 1969, in Milwaukee, WI. For 45 years, he worked for Chilton Metal Products-Western Industries, where he started as a press operator and worked his way to become General Manager and Vice President of Chilton Products. After retirement, he continued to work as a consultant for Western Industries.
    Dallas was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul and also served as an adviser for the LYF in the past. He was a former member of the Potter Fire Department, Potter Community Association and Village of Potter Trustee. He was a Charter Member of the Calumet County Sno-Riders and former member of Calumet County Civic Association.
    Dallas was an active board member of Chilton Memorial Hospital and Calumet Medical Center. He was a Charter Member and secretary of Calumet Area Community Health Foundation and Chilton Chamber of Commerce. He was a board member of the Farmers State Bank of Potter, F&M Bank and Citizens Bank.
    Dallas loved cars, was an avid open wheel race fan and owner, and belonged to the Wisconsin Jaguar Club and Corvette Club. Before his love of cars and racing; he also raced Class C snowmobiles throughout the area. He owned 'Signs by Dallas' hand painting many business signs, vehicles and logos around the area.
    Survivors include his wife: Mary; two daughters: Denyse (Travis) Harding of Cumming, Georgia, and Darcie (Craig) Schwalenberg-Kesler of Potter; three grandchildren: Alyssa and Alannah Harding and Mason Kesler. Dallas was also waiting with anticipation for his second Kesler grandson who is expected in April. He is further survived by a brother: Deane (Maryann) Schwalenberg of Champlin, MN; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church-Rantoul, N6078 W. River Road, Hilbert, with the Rev. Timothy Benninghoff officiating. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 4, 2009, and on Thursday at the Church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Memorials are appreciated in the name of Dallas G. Schwalenberg to the Calumet County Park for playground equipment.
