    Biography:
    EMANUEL HAHN, who has been a resident of Seymour for the past thirty years and is now living retired from business activities, is a native of Wisconsin, having been born in Manitowoc county, September 10, 1854, and is a son of William and Mary (Beckner) Hahn. The parents of Mr. Hahn were born in Slasing, Germany, where Mrs. Hahn was first married to a Mr. Gierstorf, by whom she had two children: Annie and Joe, the latter of whom served three years as a private of Company I, Twenty-seventh Regiment, Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry, and is now a resident of Nebraska. The family was established in the United States in about 1850 when Mr. and Mrs. Hahn settled in Manitowoc county, Wisconsin, and there their three sons: William, Fred and Emanuel, were born. In 1856 they moved to Sheboygan county, and after the Civil War Mr. Hahn secured a farm, on which he worked up to the time of his death, which occurred in 1903 when he was eighty years of age. Mrs. Hahn died in 1901, when she had reached the age of eighty-one years.
    Emanuel Hahn secured his education in the public schools of Sheboygan county, and when twenty-one years of age struck out for himself. He worked out during the summers and in the winters remained at home until 1882, in which year he came to Seymour and during the eighteen years following was engaged in sawmill work. He then for six years was associated with the Muehl Furniture Company, and at the end of that period he practically retired from activities of a business nature.
    Mr. Hahn was married to Elizabeth Straub, who is also a native of Wisconsin, and to them there have been born four children, namely: Walter, who married Martha Berger; Gertrude, who lives at home with her parents; Jacob, who is employed as bookkeeper at the First National Bank; and Lavina who was married to George Tubbs.

    Active Civic Leader Started Career in Seymour in 1907
    NICHOLS - Jacob Hahn, 80, president of the Nichols State Bank and one of its founders, died Sunday afternoon at the Shawano Community Hospital. Hahn began his banking career as an assistant cashier at the First National Bank in Seymour from 1907-19. He was born in Seymour March 13, 1886. In 1919 he moved to Nichols and started the bank. He served as its cashier until 1960 when he was appointed executive vice president. In June he was named president. Since 1936 Hahn served as secretary-treasurer of the Nichols Co-Operative and was honored at last year's 50th annual meeting for his long years of service. Town Clerk For 25 years he was secretary treasurer of the Outagamie County Bankers Association and also was clerk for the Town of Cicero for 25 years. Survivors are a son, a daughter, two grandchildren and a sister. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Trinity United Church of Christ, Nichols, where he was a member. Rev. Donald Schmidt will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. Friends may call at the Muehl Funeral Home in Seymour after 2 p.m. Wednesday

    Joyce Thiel, 310 Fulton Street, Seymour, age 81, died Wednesday evening, December 8, 2010, at her home with family by her side. She was born May 14, 1929, daughter of the late Melvin and Harriet (Tubbs) Marcks. On June 14, 1947, she was united in marriage to James Thiel at the Cicero United Methodist Church. She was a lifelong resident of the area and farmed with her husband in the Town of Cicero until retirement. Joyce was an active member of the United Methodist Church and Cicero United Methodist Women. She lived her life in service to the Lord.
    She is survived by her children three sons and daughters-in-law: John (Sue) Thiel, Green Bay; Michael (Shirley) Thiel, Seymour; Bill (Lori) Thiel, Seymour; five daughters and sons-in-law: Marilyn (Terry) Butters, Beloit; Sharon (Ken) Blohm, Seymour; Susan (Jim) Elliott, Texas; Virginia (Bruce) Cameranesi, Brookfield; Victoria (John) Smits, Oshkosh.     Friends may call at the Muehl Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Sunday, December 12, 2010 from 4 - 8 p.m. and on Monday, December 13, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. at Seymour United Methodist Church with Pastor Rebecca Henry officiating.     Obituary:
    Jeffrey D. Marcks, 55, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2014, after a brief battle with cancer, at St. Vincent Hospital. He was born January 27, 1959, son of Donald Marcks and the late Beverly (Baxter) Marcks.
    In 1988 he was united in marriage to Connie Weber.
    Jeff attended Seymour High School, Class of 1977. He was employed with Mc Dermid Transportation in Oconto Falls. He enjoyed trucking, riding his Harley, four wheeling with his jeep, visiting with family and friends and playing his harmonica.
    He is survived by his wife, Connie; son, Joseph "Joey" Marcks (special friend Nikki), Seymour; daughter, Dana Sherin, Sparta and her children: Justice, Alex, Trysten, Joel and Olivia; his father, Donald Marcks, Black Creek; siblings: Greg (Kris) Marcks, Black Creek; Scott (Mary) Marcks, Black Creek; Laura Dahl, Bismarck, N.D.; Lisa (Don) Burno, Pulaski; Matthew (Allison) Marcks, Black Creek; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Adam "Red" and Bernice Weber, Shawano; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Joanne Weber, Diane Peotter, and Steve (Sherri) Weber; godchild, Nikolas; numerous nieces and nephews.
