    Mrs. Francis Schmidt
    Mildred Luedtke Formerly of 339 S. Walnut St., Kimberly Age 68, passed away at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Appleton Extended Care Nursing Home following a brief illness. She was born March 10, 1905 in Kaukauna and lived in Kimberly most of her life, She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Kimberly. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Priscilla Mulry, Combined Locks; three sons, Gerry Schmidt, Redding California, Robert Schmidt, Combined Locks, and Al Schmidt, Little Chute; a brother, Gilbert Arps, Kaukauna; four sisters, Mrs. Wilma Rausch, Kaukauna, Mrs. Lyle (Beulah) Jansch, Forest Junction, Mrs. Ruth Alger, and Mrs. John (Lea) Bowman, both of Kaukauna; and 15 grandchildren. Her husband, Francis, preceded her in death in August, 1972. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, Kimberly, with Rev. John Schroeder officiating. Burial will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Kaukauna. Friends may call at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home, Kimberly, after 3 p.m. Friday, and after 10 a.m. Saturday at the church until the time of service.

    Arps, Gilbert H. "Gib"
    Gilbert Arps, 96, Kaukauna, was called to the hands of the Lord on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009. He was surrounded by his loving family when he was called home. Gib was born near Shiocton on June 16, 1913, son of the late Henry and Olga (Hildebrandt) Arps. He graduated from the Kaukauna High School in 1931 and on Nov. 13, 1941, he married his sweetheart, the former Bernice Wiedenhaupt.
    Gib served his country faithfully during and after World War II as a member of the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post #41, the Electric City VFW Post #3319 and the 40 et 8, where he was also Chef De'Gare. For over 40 years, Gilbert "Granny" worked at Thilmany Pulp and Paper in Kaukauna.
    He enjoyed working with wood, making gifts for family and friends. Gilbert will also be remembered as being a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear to him was his lifelong faithful membership at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Kaukauna.
    Gib is survived by his loving wife, Bernice Arps, Kaukauna; three sons, Kenneth (Jean) Arps, Freedom; Karl (Bonnie) Arps, Hortonville; and Kirk (Paula Winarski) Arps, Kaukauna; four grandchildren, Christopher (Sarah) Arps, Omro; Kelly (Tim) Hanson, Kaukauna; Kerry (Steve) Ebben, Combined Locks; and Bob (Melissa) Arps, Francis Creek; eight great-grandchildren, William, Collin and Lillian Arps; Matthew and Allison Hanson; Maya and Kyle Ebben; and baby Arps, who will join the family in April; two sisters, Ruth Wier and Leatrice (John) Bowman, both of Kaukauna; and two sisters-in-law, Margaret Harke, Kimberly; and Grace Dercks, Kaukauna.
    Gib was preceded in death by his parents and brothers and sisters, Mildred Schmidt, Wilma Rausch, Beulah Jensch, Melvin Arps and Kenneth Arps.
    The Christian Funeral for Gib will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009, at TRINITY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 804 Grignon Street in Kaukauna, with the Rev. Mark Luetzow officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday afternoon from 2 p.m. until the hour of the service.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Gilbert's name.
    The family would like to offer their thanks to the special men and women, especially his granddaughter, Kelly, who took such great care of Gib in the Cardiac Care Unit on 2South at Appleton Medical Center. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

    A war department report received here Monday evening tells of the death of Cpl. Kenneth Arps in France on August 16. A previous notice received told of his being seriously wounded. His wife resides in Kimberly and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Henry Arps of Lawe Street, Kaukauna. Cpl. Arps entered service November 1941 serving with the 36th armored division. He is survived by his wife Josephine, a 10-month-old daughter Virginia, two brothers, in five sisters and his parents.

    Leatrice June (Arps) Bowman, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 4. 2014. Leatrice was born on June 27, 1927 in Kaukauna to Henry J. and Olga K. Arps. She was united in marriage at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church on October 25, 1947 with John E. Bowman. John predeceased her on April 7, 2013.
    After their marriage Lea and John spent their married life in Kaukauna. She worked for AAL for 31 years retiring in 1987. She was a long time member of the Ladies Aid of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kaukauna. They enjoyed traveling the country visiting the locales where their children resided.
    Leatrice is survived by her children Dennis (Kathleen) Bowman, Susan (David) Mory; grandchildren Scott (Renee) Bowman, Paul Bowman, Samantha (Travis) Baer, Sydney Mory; great-grandchildren Aurora, Emma and Ethan Baer. She is further survived by her sister-in-law Bernice Arps, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
    Leatrice was preceded in death by her parents and her parents-in-law Charles and Anna Bowman, brothers Gilbert, Melvin (Anita), and Kenneth Arps; sisters, Mildred (Francis) Schmidt, Wilma Rausch, Beulah (Lyle) Jansch, Ruth (Woodrow and John) Alger Wier. By her husband's siblings, Swen (Clara) and Milton Bowman, Linda (Carl) Olson, Bertha (Everett) Udell and Evelyn Schroeder.
    The Christian funeral for Leatrice will be held on Wednesday, May 7th at 11 AM at TRINITY EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH on the corner of Tobacnoir and Grignon Streets in Kaukauna with the Rev. Timothy Wilkens officiating. Visitation will be at 9AM on Wednesday morning at the church and until the time of service. Leatrice will be entombed at Highland Memorial Park next to her beloved John. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
    Leatrice's family would like to thank the Revs. Timothy Wilkens and Kurtis Mau for their spiritual care over these few months. We would also like to thank her caregivers, Amy, and the staffs of Parkside Care Center and the Appleton Retirement Community. They would also like to thank the staff of ThedaCare Hospice for the support and caring of Leatrice.

    James F. Rausch, Kaukauna, age 70, died unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, September 14, 2008. James was born July 5, 1938, to the late Frank and Wilma (Luedtke) Rausch. He married Joan A. Ploetz on December 26, 1959, at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church in Kaukauna. James was a highly skilled basketball player throughout his high school and post-high school years. He was a loyal Kaukauna Ghost, Packer, and Cubbies fan. James enjoyed visiting his son in Florida and he cherished the time spent with family, especially his three grandchildren.
    He is survived by his children, Robyn (Richard) Trilling, Jim Rausch and daughter-in-law, Tammy Rausch, his three grandchildren, Chad Rausch and Joshua & Amber Trilling. He will also be missed by two brothers-in-law, Gene Ploetz and Pahl (Ann) Ploetz; two sisters-in-law, Carla (Bruce) Kobs and Carol Rausch; his nieces and nephews Jennifer, Jason & Justin Kobs, Pahla, Kelly and Payton Ploetz and Amy & Tony Rausch.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joan in 2006, his son Randy in 2006, his brother Dave Rausch in 2007, his sister Carole Passantino in 1998, and sister-in-law Micki Ploetz in 2006.
    A Memorial Service for James will be held at 4 p.m. Friday September 19, 2008, at BETHANY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 124 West 10th Street, Kaukauna, with Rev. Walt Steinbach officiating. Friends may call directly on Friday 2 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. 920-766-2099.

    Randy Rausch, Kaukauna, 41, died Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at MD Anders on Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Randy was born May 16, 1965, to James a nd Joan (Ploetz) Rausch in Kaukauna. He married the former Tammy Mad er on October 21, 1995, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sherwood. Ran dy was an avid sports fan as well as an active participant in many sport s. He enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with friends. Randy wi ll be missed by all who knew him. He was "a friend to everyone and everyo ne was a friend to him."Randy is survived by his wife, Tammy Rausch and his son, Chad Rausch; h is father, Jim Rausch; his sister, Robyn (Dick) Trilling and their two chi ldren, Josh and Amber; his brother, Jim Rausch; and Chad's mother, Sue Zwi ers.
