    Obituary:
Linda M. Nielsen, 61, Appleton, went to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 22, 2011. Linda was born in Appleton, on April 11, 1950, to the late Robert and Joan (Long) Kolosso, Jr. She was a graduate of Xavier High School, Class of 1968, and a graduate of UW-Stevens Point, Class of 1973.
On June 28, 1971, she was united in marriage to Jeffrey Nielsen at St Mary Catholic Church, Appleton.
Teaching was the love of her life. She taught at St. John's Catholic School in Menasha, Appleton Christian School, Fox Valley Christian Academy, and was a substitute teacher and tutor.
Linda was one who touched many, many lives. If there was ever a family problem or need, the first person everyone would go to was Linda. She was always willing to do whatever it took, spend as much time as needed, pray, and see the situation through to the end. She always gave more than 100% to any project she was involved with and always expected perfection in everything she did.
On any subject, she had a definite opinion and she never hesitated to share. Linda loved to share her vast knowledge of this world and her spiritual insight. She enjoyed her work with the jail ministry, health and wellness classes, and attending services at El Shaddai Christian Fellowship.
Most of all, she loved her granddaughters, Allison and Hannah. She would complain of withdrawal symptoms if more than two or three days went by with out her seeing them.
She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 40 years, Jeff Nielsen, Appleton; daughter, Rebecca (Jeff) Heegeman, Greenville, and their daughters, Allison and Hannah; son, Joe Nielsen, New York, N.Y., and "daughter" Cora Kolosso, New York, N.Y.; mother, Joan Kolosso, Appleton; three brothers, John (Mary) Kolosso, Little Chute; Bill (Karen) Kolosso, Appleton; Peter Kolosso, Appleton; two sisters, Barb (Jim) Kolosso, Bear Creek; and Nancy (Rick) Oppor, Schaumburg, Ill.; brother-in-law, John (Caroline) Nelson, Neenah; sister-in-law, Judy (Frank) Nielsen, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; special great-nephew and great-nieces, Desmond, D'Ajanae, Faith, Amaya and Angelise. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as many other great-nieces. She truly was a second mother to all.
She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Kolosso, Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Jan Fredrickson officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday and at 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
One question she was not afraid to ask: If you were to die today, where would you go - Heaven or hell?
Three things you need to know:
    1. Romans 3:23 - "We've all sinned."
    2. Romans 6:23 - "The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life."
    3. Romans 10:13 - "Whosoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved."
One thing you need to do:
    Pray this out loud
Heavenly Father, I believe that Jesus died on the cross and rose again. I give you my life. I want Jesus Christ to come into my life and into my heart, Amen…
Congratulations, you are on the way to Heaven and you can meet up with Linda and celebrate for eternity.
