Ralph H. Kahler, age 65, of Hortonville, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2015. He was surrounded by his loving family and went to sleep in this life to be welcomed into his new life with Jesus, his parents and his two sisters. He was born on November 12, 1949 in Appleton, to the late Herbert and Lucille (Ellefson) Kahler. On December 29, 1973, Ralph married Shiela Ritchie at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London, recently celebrating 41 amazing years together. Ralph was employed in June of 1974 at Miller Electric and worked there over 35 years. He will be remembered as a hard worker, and an artist with wood, in which many family members and friends will cherish their special items in the years to come.
Ralph enjoyed the outdoors and the peace and quiet of the country, deer hunting, and especially the time at the family land named Kahler Acres. He loved spending time with his family, and his grandchildren had him wrapped around their finger. Ralph would do anything for them! He loved gardening and taking meticulous care of his yard. Ralph loved telling stories, putzing around and was the "jack of all trades", who was able to fix or build anything. He was an avid sports enthusiast loving the Packers, Brewers, Badgers, and NASCAR.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Shiela Kahler; children: Justin (Brooke) Kahler and Alisa (Timothy) Christianson; grandchildren: Everett and Beckett Kahler; siblings: Pat (Larry) Weber, Warren (Cheryl) Kahler, and Daniel (Linda) Kahler; Shiela's mother Mildred (Ritchie) Gore and siblings: Barry (Cindy) Ritchie, Patty (Jon) Lathrop, Joan (Russell) Fenske, Marcia (Doug) Flease, and Norma (Jim) Gerhardt; and godchildren: Jess Lathrop, Jamie Garvey, and Nicholas Ritchie. Dearest Ralph, Dad and Grandpa: Here's to us. To what we've done. Stayed together. Supported each other. Been happy. Made something of ourselves. Grew up. Changed. Defied the odds. We're proud of that. Proud of us. In love with you. In love with our family. Still. Always.
