    Ethel (Voight) Brown, Seymour, age 95 passed away Monday evening, July 13, 2009, at her home with her family at her side. She was born August 15, 1913, in the Town of Grand Chute, daughter of Ben and Pauline (Lemke) Voight. She was a graduate of Shiocton High School, class of 1930, and Outagamie Rural Normal School, class of 1931. She taught at Sunnyslope School in the Town of Greenville.
    Ethel married Kenneth Brown on November 28, 1933. The couple farmed in the town of Freedom for 46 years, and lived in Seymour since 1979. Her husband preceded her in death on April 8, 1990.
    Survivors include her daughters: Janet Rohm, Appleton; Jeanne (Bob) McAndrew, Norwalk, CT; Joyce Van Wychen, Freedom; her sons: Victor (Marlene) Brown, Seymour; Kenneth "Bud" (Nancy), Weyauwega; Bill (Sally) Brown, Neenah; daughter-in-law Violet Brown, Black Creek; 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; several step-great-great-grandchildren. Also a sister, Claire (Nuss) Beyer, Appleton; sisters-in-law, Leona Voight, Shiocton, and Phyllis Brown, Appleton.
    She was preceded in death by a son, Sheldon, and a son-in-law, Glen Rohm; two step-great-great-grandchildren; six brothers: Oscar, Earl, Leonard, Russel, George, and Victor; three sisters: Alice Woehler, Grace Conrad, and an infant who died at birth; three brothers-in-law: Clarence Beyer, Butch Conrad and Walter Woehler.
    Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Thursday, July 16, 2009, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, July 17, 2009, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Burial at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Muehl Public Library, Seymour, or to Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour for the Ministry tapes.

    Obituary:
    Sheldon K. Brown Sr. (Shelly), Black Creek, age 75, passed away Monday, June 29, 2009, at Rennes Health Center in Appleton. He was born in the Town of Freedom on June 28, 1934, son of Ethel (Voight) Brown and the late Kenneth Brown. He graduated from Freedom High School, and on September 13, 1958, he married Violet Felton. He retired from Wisconsin Electric in 1994. In 1999, he was named Black Creek's Outstanding Citizen of the Year in which he was recognized for organizing the Babe Ruth baseball league and the Babe Ruth baseball state tournament. He was named "Backer of the Year" by Seymour "S" Club and was a member of the Seymour Athletic Booster Club. He was a long time active member and office holder of the Lions Club where he received the highest form of recognition from the Lions Club, "The Melvin Jones Fellowship Award." He was an active member of St. John's United Church of Christ and has been an officer of the Church Council. In the past, he was on various committees, serving as Sunday School Superintendent for 15 years, advised the youth fellowship group, had been an active choir member and member of the dartball team. With his white beard, red suit and ho ho ho's, Shelly made the perfect Santa Claus. At Christmas time, he donned the suit and rang the bell for the Salvation Army. He enjoyed activities with his family such as: hunting, traveling (to 49 of the 50 states), fishing, flashlight farming, auctions and singing in Ecumenical choir. He also enjoyed attending events, supporting his children and grandchildren.
    He is survived by his mother Ethel (Voight) Brown, Seymour; his wife of 50 years Violet (Felton) Brown, Black Creek; two sons: Sheldon Jr. "Chip" (Jenny) Brown, Kaukauna; Robert "Bob" (Vickie) Brown, Seymour; two daughters: Brenda (John) Weber, Kaukauna; Bonnie (Gary) Vander Linden, Black Creek; special family member Mary Ann (Glenn) Gutknecht, Greenville; grandchildren: Heidi, Jennifer (Fiancee David), Elizabeth, Diana (Carlos), Holly, Joshua, Emily, Brooke, Morgan and Bryce. He is further survived by six brothers and sisters: Janet Rohm, Appleton; Jeanne (Bob) Mc Andrew, Norwalk, CT; Victor (Marlene) Brown, Seymour; Joyce Van Wychen, Freedom; Kenneth "Bud" (Nancy) Brown, Weyauwega; and Bill (Sally) Brown, Neenah; his wife's family: Mike (Donna) Felton, Esther (Jim) Zimmer, Betty Sears and Roy Felton.
    He was preceded in death by his father, father and mother-in-law Joseph and Anna Felton, a sister-in-law Helen Halbach, two brothers-in-law: Glen Rohm and David Sears; God child Diane Sears.
