    Baumann, Virginia C. (nee: Schultz)
    Virginia C. Baumann, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. She was born on August 24, 1919, in Appleton; daughter of the late Albert J. and Emma (Kohasky) Schultz. On May 1, 1948, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton, she married Raymond Baumann. Virginia was a life-long resident of Appleton and a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, Appleton. She enjoyed sewing, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and her flower gardens. She also enjoyed the train rides to her job in the Sturgeon Bay shipyard where she worked during World War II. Virginia also worked at the Fox River Knitting Mills, Zwickers and Kresge's Dime Store, all in Appleton.
    She is survived by her husband, Raymond Baumann, Appleton: her children: William "Bill" (Marleen) Baumann, Richfield; Edward (Claire) Baumann, Hortonville; Cecile "Ceil" (Brad) Grunert, Menomonee Falls; Marie (Dennis) Eggert, Appleton; her grandchildren: Daniel, Timothy and Rebecca Baumann, Megan, Brett and Brice Grunert and Jeffrey and Elizabeth Eggert; sisters-in-law: Betty Schultz, Marion Baumann, Clara Baumann, Marie Bushman, Jean Baumann and Elizabeth (Russ) Burns; her brother-in-law, Carl (Eileen) Baumann and by many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, twin baby brothers, Albert and Allen, brother, Gordon Schultz and his wife, Hildegard, brother, Eugene Schultz and by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Jeanette Baumann, Gertrude and Emmett Decker, Nick Baumann, Blanche and Richard Strelka, Clem Baumann, Henry Baumann, Claire and Leona Baumann, Eugene Bushman, Eugene Weyers and Roy Bogenschutz.
    A Funeral Liturgy for Virginia will be held on Friday, July 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 W. Marquette St., Appleton, with Fr. Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Family and friends may visit at the church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the mass. Entombment will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established in her name.
    Virginia's family would like to say thank you to the staffs of Appleton Health Care Center and St. Elizabeth Hospital 2 South for their kindness and care.

    Schultz, Gordon C. "Bud"
    Gordon Charles Schultz, 69, of rural Waupaca and formerly of Appleton, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009. Gordon was born in Appleton on March 11, 1940, to Gordon and Hildegarde (Piechocki) Schultz.
    Upon graduation from Appleton West HS, Gordon attended the UW-Fox Valley and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. During his college years and afterward, Gordon worked as an electrical engineer for Adrian Godschalx. He owned Audio Wisconsin, a sound contracting company. Before retirement, he worked as a consultant for Roller and Schultz Associates, designing audio systems for performing art centers and large churches.
    Active in the Appleton community, Gordon belonged to the Appleton Breakfast Rotary. He was awarded the Paul Harris Rotary Fellowship Award and also received the club's Lifetime Service Award. Additionally, he served on the boards of Peabody Manor and Big Brothers, Big Sisters and the Research Committee for Hearthstone Historical Home and the Education Committee for the Fox Cities Chamber. He served as PTA President for Jefferson Elementary School and as Citywide PTA Co-President. He served in the originating group of parent advisors for Appleton West. He became a Cub Scout Pack Leader and elementary school soccer coach. He was a former member and president of the Appleton Curling Club.
    He served the St. Bernard Parish community as its Council President and for many years as a song leader.
    Blessed with a beautiful singing voice, Gordon shared his talent with the Fox Valleyaires Barbershop Chorus and the White Heron Chorale.
    Gordon shared 42 years of marriage with Susan (Nason) Schultz. She survives as well as their three sons, Hans and his fiance Melinda Heilman; Todd (Maria) and their children, Avery and Charlie, of Appleton; and Lars (Katie) of Sun Prairie; brother David (Cathy) Schultz and sister Janet Bauman; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Charles and Victoria Nason. In addition, numerous uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces and cousins survive him.
    Gordon's interests were many, including archaeology, curling, genealogy, photography, sailing, soccer and traveling. Gordon will be remembered for his warm smile, sparkling eyes, humor, love and devotion to his family, especially to Avery and Charlie, his love for Long Lake and his intense desire to help others.
    A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Dec. 28, 2009, at 11 AM at St. Bernard's Church, 1617 W. Pine St., Appleton, with Father Dennis Ryan officiating.
    In lieu of flowers, Gordon's family has established a Memorial in his name for the Community Hospice Foundation.
    The family thanks ThedaCare at Home Hospice for its wonderful care provided, most especially Dr. Josph McCausland, Tina Carlson, Kelly and Jenny.
    The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family.
