On May 16, 1928, Jerry was born the son of the late Anton and Theresa (Koehler) Hauser. He was united in marriage to Helen Weiland Podrzay on Aug. 21, 1954, at St. Joseph Parish in Appleton. Jerry spent four years in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was employed at Marathon Corp. and American Can Co. for 42 years and retired in 1988. In his retirement, Jerry and Helen spent many happy summers at Loon Lake in Shawano. They would play card games, especially Sheepshead with their family and friends. Jerry also did a lot of volunteer work with the Visiting Nurses Association and tutored second grade students in reading and math. He also enjoyed singing and was a member of the Y-Nots and the St. Paul Villa Choir. Jerry loved to read and enjoyed cheering on the Chicago Cubs. Jerry always put others first and had great pride in being a grandfather.
Jerry will be missed by his loving children, Cynthia (Ken) Priest, Mary (Terry) Cochran, Tony (Jane) Hauser, and Jon (Noelle) Hauser; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Porto and Helene Hauser.
