    M. Muriel Martin, 91, of De Pere and formerly of Greenleaf, passed away peacefully with family present on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. The daughter of the late John and Mabel (Nies) Campbell was born May 23, 1921 in Morrison. She attended Wrightstown High School and the Kaukauna Normal School. Muriel married Leon John Martin on June 20, 1944 in Morrison. She taught at St. Mary Catholic School in Greenleaf. She loved to crochet, play cards, golf and bowl. Muriel was a lifetime member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Greenleaf.
    She is survived by 5 children: Kathleen (Larry) Detrie, Karns City, PA, Daniel Martin, Redford, MI, Mary Pat (Peter) White, Springfield, VA, Kenneth Martin, Green Bay, Jean (Michael) Ritter, Scottsdale, AZ; grandchildren: Terry Detrie, Tony Martin, Erika Snook, Eric and Andy Martin, Bridget White, and Kara Martin; great-grandchildren: Matthew Detrie, Owynn and Henry Martin; daughter-in-law, Cathy (the late Jerry) Martin.
    Muriel was preceded in death by her husband, Leon; two sons, James and Jerry; and a brother, John Robert.
    Burial will be at the church cemetery.

    Eileen M. Shinners, 87, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2007, at St. Paul Elder Services in Kaukauna, Wis., with her family at her side. She was born in Appleton, Wis., on March 10, 1920, to Bonnaventure and Marion (Campbell) Shinners. Eileen was a lifelong member of St. Mary's parish and also belonged to the Ladies of St. Mary's, the Catholic Daughters of America, Monte Alverno Retreat Guild, and was a volunteer at St. Elizabeth's Auxillary. She also worked for forty years at Wisconsin Bell.
    Eileen is survived by a brother, James (Ruth) Shinners, Sheboygan; sisters, Kate Abendroth, Appleton; Jim and Ruth's children, Mike, Mary Jo, Jim, Barb, John, Anne, Jean, Kathy, Trish, Tom, Patrick, and Sara; Catherine's children, Bob, Marty, Peggy, Barb, Bonnie, Mary, and Mark.
    She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Frank Abendroth.

    Obituary:
    Catharine Elizabeth Abendroth, age 86, passed away September 3, 2015 with her family at her side at Appleton Medical Center. She was born November 24, 1928 in Appleton, the daughter of the late Bonaventure and Marion (Campbell) Shinners. She lived most of her life in the Appleton area. Catharine was united in marriage to Frank Abendroth on June 13, 1953 in Sherwood, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on September 3, 2004. She spent most of her life raising 7 children, Robert, Martha, Megan, Barbara, Bonnie, Mary and Mark. She worked as a switchboard operator at TelSec and Appleton Medical Center from where she retired. Her passions were cooking, spending time in the great outdoors, sewing, quilting, reading and traveling the back roads. In retirement Catharine and Frank traveled to Europe, New York, Montana, Colorado and Florida. She and Frank also spent a great deal of time in Door County. She continued to travel after Frank passed, adding memories from, Alaska, Hawaii, and Idaho.
    She is survived by her 7 children, Robert (Kathie) Abendroth, Mark (Nancy) Abendroth, Martha (Reed) Polzin, Megan (Jim) Toole, Barbara (Ron) Hvizdak, Bonnie (Dave) Heatwole, and Mary (Brian) Borkovec, eight grandchildren, Abigail (Joe) Gilbert, Courtney, Amanda (Tom) McHugh, Michael, Hunter, Carly, Kyle and his special friend Stepanie Polich and Morgan, great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Tanner, and her close friends Joyce Long, Anne Van Herwynen, Carol Smith and Kathy Meixl. Catharine was also preceded in death by a sister, Eileen Shinners and a brother, James Shinners.
    The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish, 1810 N MacDonald Street, Appleton, with the Rev. Gerald Falk officiating. Entombment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. Catharine's family will receive relatives and friends at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. the mass to follow at 11:00 a.m.
    The family would like to thank Heartwood Homes, Saint Paul Elder Services and the staff at Appleton Medical Center ER.
