Obituary:
Irene E. Evans, New London, 95, died Thursday March 29, 2007, at the New London Family Medical Center. She was born on March 3, 1912, in Shawano, daughter of the late Emil and Mary (Jantz) Hauser. On May 27, 1931, she was united in marriage to Ronald Evans. He preceded her in death in 1957. Irene and her husband owned and operated Evans Bar in New London until Ronald's death. She then worked at Hansen's Glove Factory in Clintonville and retired from Simmons Juvenile Products in New London in 1973. Her greatest pride and joy was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen (Dennis) Kopitzke, New London; a son, Ronald (Elaine) Evans, New London; a brother, Fred (Joyce) Hauser, Rhinelander; a sister, Mary Ann Engle, White Lake; 11 grandchildren, Ronald (Elaine) Blank, Racine; BilliJo (Tony) Fox, Clintonville; Vicki Blank, Clintonville; Wilmer (Sandy) Blank, Oregon; Wade (Kelly) Evans, New London; Evan Evans, New London; Todd Evans, New London; Lynn (Tom) Bentle, Hortonville; Cindy (Bob) Zemple, Black Creek; Dennis Kopitzke Jr., New London; Sandy (Steve) Poehlein, Stockbridge; 24 great-grandchildren, David and Tracy Blank, Jillian (Steve) Young, Thaddeus Blank, Jennifer Grimm, Jodi Evans, Jamie Evans, Jess Evans, Clint Evans, Justin Evans, Ethan Bentle, Kaitlynn Bentle, Robert Zemple, Rebekah Zemple, Benjamin Zemple Beau Kopitzke, Adam Kopitzke, Amanda (Adam) Collar, Kristy Shostak, Clayton Blank, Forrest Blank, Jesse Blank, Alexis Blank and Chris Fox; six great-great-grandchildren, Kayla Parks, Lilly Blank, Aubree Kopitzke, Aidan Collar, Quinn Evans, Greg Young and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Geraldine; three brothers, Russell, Emil and Carl; and sister, Evelyn.
The Funeral Service for Irene will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London with the Rev. John Schewe officiating. Interment will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
